  • The Fox Classic Car Collection, housed in the historic Queen’s Warehouse at 749-755 Collins St Docklands a short walk from the Melbourne CBD and contains dozens of the world’s most rare and prestigious vehicles.
According to their website which I will leave a link below, these cars have been collected over a 50-year period by Lindsay Fox, the founder and chairman of his family-owned trucking and logistics company, Linfox and donated to a Trust to raise funds for charity and for the public to enjoy.
Lindsay Fox has a passion for classic vehicles, with his collection including models from Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, Volkswagen, Ford, Rolls Royce, MG, Lexus and Nissan between 1923 and 2020. Some vehicles have previously been owned by Ringo Starr, Bing Crosby and Bob Jane to name a few.
The collection is steeped in history, one off prototypes and cars that dreams are made of. The Fox Car Collection is constantly changing, cars are rotated so that maintenance, cleaning and testing can be done without too much interruption.

Strange it says it's on Collins Street yet when it was built in 1890 Collins Street ended at Spencer. Must've been on Blythe Street that the first Johnson St bridge crossed the Yarra onto in the early eighties. Can't believe it , but its typical of heritage mobs, they have a dignified building ,once a bond store, and in 1913 printed the first Aust bank notes and they allow it to be a store room for a bunch of plastic cars.

I'm disappointed you didn't fly the drone inside!
And it's disappointing Foxy never collected any real prestigious cars like an old Holden, or an XP Falcon. What? No Leyland P76 or Mini Moke ?

I'm not even sure how one gets in and out from some of those cars - If I win the lottery I'd be looking at a Roller, not a Porsche or Ferrari !

In the olden days around 1066 we had a couple of routes going to Footscray and if you liked the scenic view you you turned off Claredon St bridge left into Sideley and nth wharf Rd then beside the big bricked walls of the gas works but that building with Foxies cars doesn't look familiar.

It's was just called the "Queens Warehouse" ... I'm guessing it was a warehouse back in the day when sailing ships ruled the oceans and this was a place to store wool or grain; but I'm not 100% sure !

@@urbanaerialexplorer1885 I'll see if I can find out about it from ancient harbour trust photos. On one of the black and white TV episodes of Division 4 there's a car chase at the the old gas works so if you win lotto you'll be able to get the TV SERIES ON Dvd and maybe identify it

@@patappleton6285 It must be heritage listed as it would have been bulldozed years ago by developers, so it's significance would be interesting - good luck
