    Burn the Sun is probably in the top 5 best progressive metal albums of all time. It's perfect. This song indeed a big highlight. Too bad you guys parted ways John, but nevertheless what you guys did with this album can never be matched!!
    Oh, amazing drumming demonstration.

    I remember Ark very well, being them a prog band they have a feature more than other bands of the genre: they had a lot of groove, and John's playing is a big part of that. For those saying prog/prog metal can't be groovy, I just say listen to ARK!

      That was exactly what we shot for, fat groove rock band but strange song structures so labeled Prog. If you listen to Burn The Sun, the guitar sound was modelled after Angus Young;;;for real. Also always no matter how complex an arrangement, always hit them with a killer chorus and groove under it. Thanks for the comment and thanks for listening.

    John, was at the San Francisco show of malmsteen when u played instrumental as jorn wasn't available yet to play live. Malmsteen did the cut throat gesture to mats, I could tell that version was over that night. Good news, u guys got Tore who I've always loved and the amazing voice of Jorn. All in all, great trade. I also met u at a drum clinic in Atlanta at a prog power years ago. U signed everything. Thx again and cheers John

    The playing is freaking awesome as known, the cymbals sound quite nice but due to the miking the drums kind of sound pretty tinny and unfortunately not as good as they do live..

      Not crooked at all. Put the motion in and the motion comes out. Do you like what you hear? If so, the sound and groove came from the motion.

      What an idiotic comment. Hey buddy I saw you photo and hate the way you look when your not playing. next time do something constructive with your time like practice. May be someday you can get somewhere and leave your basement and then one day some jerkoff can write something stupid under your videos.

      1. Sir, you ignored the first part of my comment. Burn the Sun is one of my fav albums of all time. MASSIVE respect.
      2. It was meant to be taken with a bit of humor (hence the xD xD) :D
      3. It just looks to me like you threw posture and moller out of the window. I can but guess (since I'm no doctor) that your cervical spine and joints are taking damage due to the way you approach the instrument. This is what I meant.
      4. Having said all that. I repeat: Massive respect. I can but hope that my career will be half as successful as yours.

    • @JohnMacalusoDrums
      @JohnMacalusoDrums  5 років тому +1

      @@andresbermudez8498 Mollar out the window? My God man Chapin was one of my teachers, stop. My techniques are all used to get sound and feel, there is a reason for all. .When you play intense music you cant do it like you, there wouldn't be punch at all. I watched your vid man. To play extreme volume without burning out my left hand technique was invented and posture is for groove, getting low and deep. That is that. Glad you like my music, that is what you should be talking about.
