When Black Sabbath came about in the early 70:s they had those bleak but realistic lyrics. It was a contrast to the hippie, flower and love lyrics dominating the late 60:s. It appealed to the working class and their experience of a harsh world. They didn't appeal to the critics of that time. In retrospect they have finally been given credit as pioneers of metal and also credit for their musical abilities as individuals, and as a tightly musical unit. Their music can't die, because quality never goes out of fashion-
The band name Black Sabbath was inspired by the horror film I tre volti della paura, (1963) directed by Mario Bava and starring Boris Karloff, the English title of which was Black Sabbath. The album Paranoid was originally supposed to be called War Pigs, but the record company found that too provocative. So, at the last moment, she arbitrarily decided to name the album Paranoid, after a song ironically arranged by the band in ten minutes towards the end of the album sessions and rushed to fill the record. Paranoid eventually became the band's biggest hit, peaking at number one in the UK. Keep it up, I'm happy to see you both.
Great to hear adult conversations about rock music. It just dawned on me that you two combine two elements that no other reaction podcast is able to. One is, of course, your adult perspective, which I can relate to. The other is that you are adult but haven't yet heard much of this music. This brings on both a cathartic link of maturity with someone enjoying the music you love and refreshing your love for it by seeing them listen to it for the first time. I can't think of anything else like it amongst reactionists(?) (or reactionaries, whichever name you choose). Love you guys and love the way you seem to love each other.
Y’all react to Black Sabbath the way my friends and I did when we first heard them. This is so cool. The only difference is we heard them 50 years before y’all did. Black Sabbath is timeless. Love y’all’s reactions.
I AM the 101 like even before finished... Its a xxcking classic and there is no time for this. One of.my favourites of all time from them. The God God fathers of metal. Point
Hey we need another track for the album we're recording.....one smoke break later! History - how amazing to produce this on the fly!!! #SabbathBloodySabbath #TheWizard #SweetLeaf
Hi lovely couple - what is extraordinary about this song is that it was written in minutes to fill up the disc of the album (much the same as Smoke on the Water for Deep Purple's Machine Head album) - and both songs have become giant anthems for both those bands.
This is my favorite song at karaokebar and always people like it! first time i played it with my band late 70s when i was drummer, and under 20 years old! THNX for this! love you!!!
Enjoyed your reaction. I recommend "Symptom of the Universe" from the Sabotage album and or "A National Acrobat" from the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" album.
Ozzy was a phenomenal vocalist. Not sure he gets the credit that he’s due for the massive influence that his vocal style has had on rock music in general. Not just metal. Just amazing ❤
I guess you could say the music of Black Sabbath is timeless. I wounded if people will be rediscovering/listening to this album on 2072. Theses days, the most exciting Metal is being created by women in Japan. Try BAND-MAID (Domination-live, Influencer), NEMOPHILA (Revive, Seize The Fate), and HANABIE (We Like Sweets, Reiwa Matching Generation). Also GACHARIC SPIN (I wish I, Mindset), and UNLUCKY MORPHEOUS (Black Pentagram).
The song was an afterthought. All the songs were done, and they decided they needed a 3 minute filler. Tony Iommi came up with a riff, Geezer Butler wrote some lyrics quickly. It became the title track and one of their bigger songs.
Nightwish did some GREAT covers. Symphony off destruction from Megadeth. (Montreal 2004) And Crazy train from Ozzy Osborne And High hopes from Pinck floyd
I now pronounce you BLACK SABBATH fans. I love Dio as a solo artist and the Heaven and Hell album with Sabbath but for me the OZZY SABBATH is dearest to my heart.
It's so true that the times you most need human contact are the very times you push them away, and that comes through clearly in these lyrics. It would be interesting to see what you think of early Judas Priest - like Sabbath they were a working class band from Birmingham, heavily influenced by what Sabbath were doing but they put their own spin on it, together creating the foundation for the so-called "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" bands that made it big towards the end of the 70s like Iron Maiden. There's an early BBC TV performance of Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver that's worth a reaction, I think: ua-cam.com/video/Wvlq1F-X6Ko/v-deo.html
War pigs, iron man, paranoid, are all radio play songs, and far from being their best. Anything from the albums, volume 4 , Sabbath bloody Sabbath, and sabotage, are their best stuff.

Hey the good old days of Hardrock.
Back to the 70ths
Hand of Doom from the Paranoid Album.....Best song on the album.

Well done guys. Saw them many years ago before Ozzy left. Now I'm another oldie who has discovered Nightwish and Floor Jansen. Unbeatable.
Saw Ozzy solo
Live and Black Sabbath Live. Great shows!!❤❤
,,🔥🔥🔥🔥 FIRE!!! To me one of the best songs ever!
Great reaction to a timeless, thundering, beauty! I don't often listen to Sabbath, but when I do, so do my neighbors!
OH NO! I had the same reaction the first time I heard this song all those many years ago and still don’t want it to end today. ❤
I AM the 101 like even before finished... Its a xxcking classic and there is no time for this. One of.my favourites of all time from them. The God God fathers of metal. Point
You may left One tear for the intensity. But who knows. But you Will feel. and God, his voice on the chorus. My God. He feels every word
Black Sabbath is one of the best and Ozzie made them that way
Well said!
Lovely song and great to see you're in touch with your feelings. I also found Fade to Black by Metallica comforting after my mother died.
great bandloved these growing up Im hugh Nightwish fan but these are my favourite band from this era and have seen them live twice great song 🙂

Please check out Sabbath's song Children of the Grave. Thank you!
Oh yes, Children of the Grave. ;^)

No mention of Lovebites, Sokoninaru, Asterism, Doll Boxx or the mothers of them all, Show Ya.
Hi, if you want a complete different side of OZZY you must hear "Changes". Greetings from Germany
The song was an afterthought. All the songs were done, and they decided they needed a 3 minute filler. Tony Iommi came up with a riff, Geezer Butler wrote some lyrics quickly. It became the title track and one of their bigger songs.
I don't think there has been many times when my mind wasn't occupied, usually by way too many things. Half the time that's why I can't sleep.
Me too
Nightwish did some GREAT covers.
Symphony off destruction from Megadeth. (Montreal 2004)
And
Crazy train from Ozzy Osborne
And
High hopes from Pinck floyd
I believe that it was Benjamin Franklin who said that the great tragedy of life is that we grow too soon old and too late wise.
The lyric vídeo with the snow
Great reaction... May I suggested Symptom of the Universe next...
Suggestion: Black Sabbath - Iron Man (Live) 👍
If you want to hear some really prophetic lyrics about life, then check out Wheels Of Confusion from Volume 4.
I now pronounce you BLACK SABBATH fans. I love Dio as a solo artist and the Heaven and Hell album with Sabbath but for me the OZZY SABBATH is dearest to my heart.
Check out Lovebites Swansong live with Chopin Intro.
Black Sabbath are timeless. Even if we moved to Mars with Elon Musk, the Martians would be playing Black Sabbath.
Thank you for this. I recomend that you hava a reaktion to older AC DC jailbreak or TNT.

You should react to system of a down :) I think some of their songs will blow your mind :)
I really recommend the whole album and title song by the band Testament - Practice What You Preach (lyrics) ua-cam.com/video/SVcEtsqso-A/v-deo.html
I think the song might be better titled “Depressed”.
War pigs, iron man, paranoid, are all radio play songs, and far from being their best. Anything from the albums, volume 4 , Sabbath bloody Sabbath, and sabotage, are their best stuff.
The human condition is the same today as it was 1000 years ago.
As they say, youth is wasted on the young.
You should maybe cry or a little tear if i recommend you loneliness from wintersun.
This song was written in 30 mins, as a filler..
You two are great im loving your videos. Please if you haven't already can you do Iron Maiden Fear of the dark. I look forward to all you do x
