Dude I feel like we're thinking on a similar wave with this. I play a hybrid perfection vanity's build so a few main deck differences obviously, but the overall approach spot on. My biggest changes were in my side deck after the ycs, but I definitely ramped up to a 2nd orange light for early negation whether it be live, or I set up the early perfection. Unfortunately this caused me to move the single called by to the side deck, but I think for now that's where it belongs for the right matchups. I don't play the super quantal cards as your build makes so much use for them, you know as well as I do the vanitys needs those names, otherwise the whole combo changes...which is the main reason I originally started playing perfection was the strong end board if vanity's didn't work out. I agree 100% with relying on engine game 1 and siding belle. Siding with the droplets was my exact call lol. I cut the Magikey from the side, in my experience I had a hard time accessing it through the bystial stuff and will probably create too many bricks now that the belles are in there too. If they have dark ruler Im gonna come back swinging and if they have droplet I guess they have it. Last take...the beta...I think possibly cutting emergency to 2 for a beta slot is fair, especially as a side swap. With cards like EED, anti spell and potentially droll running around it's nice to see names and not just access to them!
I mean, Beta just helps you grind. In formats like this where DD Crow esc effects run rampant it's not mid. The only thing that's "wrong" with it is that it doesn't help you establish a board as nicely as the rest of them do. Within Drytrons it's purpose would be to recycle banished Drytrons from your own Draconids banishing effect. You would think Lancea would be a good counter, but it having to be used on your opponent's turn to be able to use it from hand is sad with Bystials being quick effects once you have monsters on board. Could be decent to side it going second though if you know you are playing against Bystial cards.
After zombie world got gutted(rip broken halq and chaos dragon) im looking for a new home. I love nekroz so im not opposed to playing a ritual deck. Glad to play drytron.
Hey Logan, I'm interested in getting into drytrons but I don't play competitively at all, just with my friends on my days off. With that being said, we don't go by any sort of banlist or limited list, pretty much we just play with what we got. I wanted to ask you since I see your the one to go to for anything drytron, do you have any full power drytron deck profiles with maybe some cards that are banned and or limited to throw in as well?
I play a Vendread package in my build (3 Vendread Battlelord and 1 Revendread Evolution) to lock my opponent out of Monster effects, PERIOD! The only downside is the opponent can still respond.
No, the downside of Battlelord is if you search Evolution off of Zeta and they Bystial your Battlelord on the activation of Evolution you need another way into the ritual spell to play. You force them to spend resources while he's on the field then make Curious, but if your opponent prevents him from coming out then it's significantly worse. Obviously the idea is you put your opponent on "have two hand traps" if you open Benten as well, but if they DO hand trap you the second time on Gryphon you actually fold. If you're playing Battlelord and not doing the FTK, then your meta call is most people are on 12-15 HT and not playing blowout cards going second. I don't know what your locals is like, but I promise the current meta isn't like that.
@@zweis I play blind second and my main board breaker is Nova into Forbidden Droplet during damage calc. I can usually force a trap and then play around what is left of their board all without using a Drytron name.
@@taylorsnowX00 Yeah that makes sense, since obviously you couldn't just set Droplet going first and if you happen to go second use the droplet to clear their board
You just said my main board breaker is an unsearchable 3 of and Nova, the best Drytron name to open. My guy, if you open Nova Droplet every game just blind first instead and win without making the game harder on yourself
@@zweis I cannot win a die roll to save my life so I just decided to play blind second as a result. I hate build-a-board play style because if I use all of my resources and end up in a top deck scenario while my opponent has a negate Drytrons kinda lose. Curious is not my go to combo but just a name extender if I need it. I usually search Natasha off of Battlelord and proceed to Link climb. I play Vanity's Ruler in my build so that if I go first I can at least layer a few lingering effects in the form of Vanity's Ruler, Gryphon, Lancea. I like forcing my opponent's interruptions leading them into a less than optimal gamestate then layering my own lingering effects after they have exhausted their resources or stealing with Natasha. I don't care about establishing negates or convoluted combos.
I tested beta in my deck last week at locals. Besides it being handy against bystial I came up against a lot of runick. Runick would banish names and in one instance turn 1 I had a zeta banished. Beta enabled me to get zeta back to the grave and overall made the runick banish benefit me due to this. Got an additional name to GY that I wouldn’t of had. But yeah beta is still not amazing, but right now it has some value
I think for vanity you want nova or fafnir and alpha with benten. You can alpha benten grab the second benten with alpha, graveyard benten adds vanity’s ruler.(if they banish benten in graveyard it’s still fine. We still get vanity’s ruler anyway because they can’t negate. Then you wanna nova into Gama, and normal summon Vanity’s ruler. And you’ll have follow up with gama in graveyard and benten in hand. Edit: also if they summon the bystial that pops our special summoned cards we need to try to steal it with Natasha and go into Beatrice, and on their turn we can wait until they mill important cards send the bystial from Beatrice and foolish burial NaelShaddoll Ariel and banish the bystial and 2 other important cards.
Yoooo get the decklist out Logan. We are dying to see 😂. Still not confident with this being the best way to play atm so I’m very curious to see what your decklist and what you have to say
im surprised consecrated light wasnt even mentioned on here. normal summoning with to start protects against all bystials since they have to summon themselves to activate/resolve their effects. if you tribute benten while you have no monsters you can activate your benten search before the bystial quick effects become live. the best canidate for that search in that match up would be consecrated light. no only can cons light protect against bystials, it could be just as good as vanity ruler in bystial/tear match up and it doesnt require any tributes
I completely understand why most drytron players railed beta, but me personally I was always on just 1 copy. My main reasoning for it was I simply wanted an additional name for extending purposes. Also 6 months to a year ago I still dealt with the likes of each of these cards often enough to validate my choice: Cycle Reader, D.D. Crow, Tri-Brigade Shuraig, Eldlich Huaquero, and later on Swordsoul Chengying. Lastly, it was so satisfying to see my opponent's expression when they saw I ran it and it gave me the winning opportunity I needed in a pinched gamestate.
multiple dawns + perfection and benten can give you multiple lv 6 bodies on board without losing any advantage. of course, that would enable beatrice plays to gain access to a second name if you open a one name hand or if you get luck with your delta draw, you can even start with zero names and get to a pair of names if your delta draw happens to be a name other than delta
I was just telling a friend about your build and I said "man I wonder what drykage has to say about the bystial junk." Speak of the Drykage, and he shall appear.
it can enable an infinite where you can theoretically gain infinite atk on a ritual monster and the gain infinite life points if you also have natasha. you can loop 2 idaten infinitely between each other and they will give 1000 atk/def to your other rituals each cycle. but that loop is gimmicky at best
Beta is pretty awful, but it's probably not the worst card to play. Even if they stop your Drytron effect with a crow/bystial, Beta still gives you good follow up
@@KeiCeeVN It might actually be too good then. Sure, it requires your opponent to set up but at worst it's a Drytron name and at best it's a better Gamma. I think it'd be better if you could return Meteonis, but also still fair. Seems like an oversight by the Konami team 🤷🏻♂️
That was an awesome replay my man. I think you did an illegal play with elf. Remember Elf can't be used as link material during the turn it was link summoned. So, it was a bit of a misplayed
When beta is better than the Alpha

You should talk about consecrated light. Stops bysted but also just auto wins against meta
finally another comment promoting it!
another thing for TTT is the bystial are level 6. so u can steal it and make Beatrice my man

chaos hunter and drytron work perfectly together right???
right??...
Listen with audio on bro
Still need that list tho

Drytron Ishizu spoiler alert!
With kash and the byst cards being used more often I think beta finally has a place in drytron as well as lancia being a staple.
Yoo amazing video!! What are your thoughts on Fenrir in Main Deck in drytron? Appreciate your Videos🔥
fenrir is not a special summon only monster so it is completely unplayable in dryton. same case with pankratops, kaiju, gyphon rider, etc.
