    Hey beautiful! ✿ It’s Gina from orchidandopal.com. In today's tutorial I will show you a twist on the flat spiral beading stitch, so you can turn it into a beautiful necklace. This design uses graduated sizes of glass pearls and crystal bicones, which make a lovely statement on the front of the neck, and allow for the beads to contour towards the back as they become smaller.
    If you haven't tried the flat spiral beading stitch, you may want to start with the bracelet tutorial: • Easy Flat Spiral Stitc...

    This is so beautiful Gina! This may be my weaving project. 🥰 I think because it has the bigger pearls mixed with the smaller beads it's more appealing to me, so beautiful. I don't know what it is, but sometimes the more detailed bead weaving projects gross me out for some reason! 😂 I need some bigger beads in there to break up the detail. I'm strange😂🤣 Thanks for the tutorial Gina!!🥰

    Awesome..but know I've got to go get more 6mm bicones..I have hundreds of 4mm..but only a handful of 6mm..and not enough of the same color.
    I love this ..I love the flat spiral. .and have so many bracelets..and I would always make somewhat matching (color and beads only) necklaces. .but now they can really match.
    You're great, thanks for sharing and all the great inspiration.

    Stunning! I love your color combo in the demo sample. TFS!
    Anxious to give this whirl when done with my current project. I'll be using fire polish crystals and pearls. It's what I have on hand. I don't use bicones for anything that touches my skin. They are too sharp and irritate my skin, esp. the fine Swarovski bicones. I know . . . weird.

      Thank you, Dena! I am so glad you think so! If you take your time, and you accept that you might make some mistakes along the way, you'll be fine! I made a couple of mistakes even when I was filming the tutorial (which got edited out), and I have made this a bunch of times! LOL. Just go one step at a time. You can do it! 💜

    Like it a lot! Looks very pretty! I would be worried about my fireline slipping trough the crimp though. I´ve never tried that. Does it stay securely?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Claudia! It feels amazingly secure, especially with the crimps in two places on each side. I tested it, and as long as you crimp it tightly, you should be fine. Thanks for watching!

    Hi there Gina, Just a quick question! I'm about to undertake my third try at this necklace (they are getting better with each try so I'm hoping the next attempt will make it.). On my last attempt my last 6mm pearls were having trouble lying flat against the neck, even going up to the where the thread and the soft flex meet is kinda like there was a twist. Do you think maybe this has to do with the crossing of thread underneath the first lot of crimp beads? or too much tension?

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  4 роки тому

      Hey Megan! Great question. I think both of those things that you mentioned are possibilities - tension probably being the biggest issue for potential twisting at that point. Leave yourself a smidge more wiggle-room to see if that helps, and secondly try not to cross the wire and the thread if you can help it. That should help too. You'll have to let me know how it goes! Thanks so much for sharing! 💜💜💜

      Orchid and Opal Jewelry & Beads Hi Gina, it went a lot better this time! I was doing really well and then I decided it was time to break a seed bead with my crimping pliers.. but! I managed to take the crimp off and save it! Which I was so happy about! I’m not sure I had another go in me (I would’ve had to have given myself a couple of days to recover lol). It now sits a lot more nicer against the skin. I followed your tutorial to the letter and made sure to pull the pearls tight as I did the stitch, also taking care with the thread and stringing wire when they had to be crimped together. I was so happy when I finished!! I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner when it comes to beading but this beauty really tested my patience XD I still have so much to learn! Thank you so much for your videos. I always click on them when I get notified. Even the bead boxes! (Which we don’t get over here in the UK, so jealous) but thank you for being a constant inspiration. Have a lovely Christmas!
