- Although his name is largely forgotten more than 200 years after his birth, if your had been living in rural America in the mid to late 1800’s chances are you would have recognized his name. John Ellison Vassar was one of the most widely known evangelists in the United States. As we encounter him on the dusty pages history, we do see a man who is the epitome of the One who came to seek and to save that which was lost.
So proud to have found out that this man is my Uncle. What a wonderful servant. Thank you Uncle John.
That's was truly beautiful. I've never heard of John, and am so glad I stumbled upon this video to hear of his life and evangelizing.

On his grave it says. “His life was
his Monument”
I went to his grave in 2006. The graveyard keeper said he had never know anyone that visited his grave. May God stir someone’s heart to visit him and see for your own eyes the epitaph.
