A friend of mine is a care worker, and was with a service user on a cruise, and Liz Dawn was onboard. She made a point of saying hello to both my fiend and the service user every night. She didn't have to, but did. I thought that a lovely thing to do.
I remember coming back from heaton park in Manchester one Sunday when I was about 10.... and saw liz in a car .. so we shouted that's vera.. she pulled over and got out and shouted are you ok chucks and waved like mad... ive never forgot that... what a lovely woman xxxx
One of the funniest scenes ever on Corrie was Vera sitting alone in the livingroom drinking tea watching opera on the telly which she clearly couldnt understand - thinking about her facial expressions still make me laugh - its a great actress that doesnt even need words
Julie Goodyear trying to take center stage at any opportunity. Lovely lady Liz RIP (Vera) seems very down to earth and grounded for such a famous actress . Absolutely brilliant pairing off of two people Bill and Liz. Aka Jack and Vera so sadly missed now RIP to both star's.
Such a wonderful funny lady, her & Jack are so sadly missed r.i p both of you & thanks for the joy you gave to millions of viewers over the years. 🍪pocket.
True story - I was at the Granada Studios tour this day as a young lad with my mate and his parents. We were stood on the bridge looking down Coronation Street as the opening was set up - I remember us being told if we waited we could see the next bit being filmed.
The look she gave her husband at 7:45 … classic! ~ Very cold reception. She was more excited to see her on screen son Terry, than she was her real life husband. The first daughter that was introduced and came out was very pretty. 1989 … seems so long ago. So many cast members are sadly gone now. 😔
She looked as if she hardly saw her sister and brother too. She was obviously embarrassed when her children, and childhood friends, showed up and started talking. I liked 'This is Your Life' as a child. It makes me cringe, watching it, nowadays
David Jeffreys Very true indeed! I watch classic Corra every weekday morning before starting my day & it’s 100 times better than the present day Corra, I find the present day one very boring, heartless & most of the people in it really aren’t very good actors! I have my favourites who make me laugh & cry, like David Platt! Others like Audrey Roberts & the goth girl make me want to scream😫😫😫
Millybops. It's the same with Emmerdale. I used to enjoy watching Emmerdale Farm in the old days, good characters, good story lines, back in the 1980's when i was a young lad. You look at any soap nowadays and all it has in it is youngsters with strange hairdoos
Great to watch the old classic coronation Street's every afternoon on itv 3 showing @ 2.50pm & 3.20pm mon-fri. Jack & Vera have sold their stone cladding house & bought the Rovers Return Pub where Vera's the new Landlady after bet Gilroy left. This is the story line at the moment 25/06/2020. Well worth a watch - so many memories..... ❤ 🍪pocket.
I don't remember friends names from years ago.....to sit there and listening to voices you haven't heard in years lol takes a while for your brain to catch up.
Liz Dawn God Rest Your Soul home to Heaven with our ever growing ever loveing Heavenly Family Amen xxx. Is it me or do other Good Human Being's like me that grew up watching these program's feel real close to these Good Human Being's, this was when the Earthly World was a lot nicer place to live. Peace and love to all us Good Human Being's in this Earthly Life time, until all of us Good meet again in Heaven Amen xxx
Where was her best friend and sidekick for all those years on Coranation Street Ivy (Lynne Perrie). Was she gone from Coranation Street when this was filmed?
Actors today no idea how to act. And story’s crap how the hell can bloke murder 4 people no one blinks an eye. Robs is mother and not found out months later trollop these days
Abysmal crap that are propped up and told they are good by the producers when in reality they should be on final written warnings and threatened with the sack if they don't improve.
Look, I don't want to defile anybody's memories, but the Rovers Return exterior and interior were completely seperate ! The exterior on the studio lot was just a hollow shell, the actual "interior" was a mock up in the adjacent studio 1 set. What you are actually seeing is Michael Aspel entering an empty building. Then it's cut to Michael on the interior studio set (which had fake doors) and edited together to make it look continous.
Wow, I am surprised MI5 or the CIA haven't snapped you up with those amazing detective skills! Do you have a degree in Stating the Obvious? It is called 'continuity'. Shows have been using it for years (even Fawlty Towers). Just enjoy the show for what it was, a tribute to a very sweet and talented lady.
Still the best. Still missed. Unforgettable. ❤

RIP Liz Dawn, you've given us so much laughter over the years. You will be missed.
Really enjoyed that, thank you George Lyall. Liz was such a wonderfully warm lady. RIP.
You're welcome! Someone I always wanted to meet, but never got the chance.
Brilliant...loved her from start to finish...
One of the best 'surprises' ever - she was genuinely stunned

It would be full of Z list reality "stars" 🤣
Thank you this is great.
She was a much under-rated performer!
Rest in peace Liz Dawn 🙏 a funny fine actress
We needed this! Thank you so much!! :)
Vera and Jack were so good together in coronation street
Terrific! thanks for posting. Wow does she ever look different without her Corrie gear on.
Absolutely. Sad loss of a lovely lady!
Lovely message from Bernard Manning.

Jack and Vera my two favourite coronation characters

Liz Dawn just amazing☺❤

I agree with you about the body language with her real life husband. Not good. But Liz was a brilliant character in one of the UK's best soaps.
Or annoyed he kept it secreat
@@SuzyQ334 She warmed to him as the show went on I think .

Heartwarming

David Jeffreys Very true👍🏻
Totally, totally agree. Haven't watched Corrie in about 10 years - it has gone just to pot. The early 90s were pure class and great characters.

I love how she doesn’t recognize most of the voiceovers until Michael names them...classic Liz
I don't remember friends names from years ago.....to sit there and listening to voices you haven't heard in years lol takes a while for your brain to catch up.
That’s because the voices are dubbed over afterwards. Live in studio, they are read out
Who's here after watching the Sorrynation Street version 😄😄
I did it the other way around lol...saw that later and it's hysterically funny! 😄
Iconic cast.

Absolute legend. Sleep well Liz.
R.I.P Liz Down
You ave to love Larry Grayson
Thanks
After the wedding, “…are you going to the pantomime?” “We’ve been!” 😂😂😂
Miss you Liz and Jack
Our Vera 😘
Fun to see Ellie Gleave’s name pop up at the end (it appears a lot in 80s/90s credits including the Bill)... she’s the mother of the singer Example.
Now some are at peace now in heaven
Never will never be another jack and vera
Loved Jack and Vera
our tery the missing years
Where was her best friend and sidekick for all those years on Coranation Street Ivy (Lynne Perrie).
Was she gone from Coranation Street when this was filmed?
No this was 1990 so Ivy/Lynne was definitely still in it. She didn’t leave until 1994
She's a miss great actress vera was iconic
Liz didn't look happy that her husband was there 3 months after she left him 😂😂
Yes that was a cold greeting
She's the double of Sarah Lancashire
0:48, oops, somebody put the rovers window in backwards behind vera
LMAO ! Could Liz have been less enthusiastic when her husband/ex-husband turned up ? She didn't even recognise his voice !
Her look was enough secrets about this show haha they loved each other deeply as we saw at her funeral
Great star b Upton
How do you put telly on you tube ?
Torre Mount omg and the Black Hills
She really didnt look pleased to see her brother and sister .....
She didnt look pleased to see her husband either.

I loved Liz and Jack. Wonderful, funny, talented actors. The theme music on TIYL is hideous.

Ever in 1989 or 1990 because of Jenny

Recorded in late 1989 and broadcast in January 1990
