I am honored to share with you a timeless masterpiece from the Southern Song Dynasty, "瀟湘水雲" (Mist and Clouds Over the Xiang River), composed by the esteemed musician 郭楚望 (Guo Chuwang).

"Mist and Clouds Over the Xiang River" is a celebrated guqin composition that beautifully captures the serene and ethereal landscape of the Xiao and Xiang Rivers. This piece is renowned for its delicate and evocative melodies, which transport listeners to a tranquil world of natural beauty and profound reflection.
*About the Composer:*
郭楚望 (Guo Chuwang), a patriot and guqin master from the Southern Song Dynasty, is revered for his contributions to the Zhejiang genre of guqin music. His compositions, including "瀟湘水雲," are cherished for their emotional depth and artistic excellence.
*Performance Details:*
In this video, I will be performing "瀟湘水雲" on the guqin, an ancient seven-string Chinese zither known for its subtle and refined sound. The guqin has been a symbol of Chinese scholarly culture for over 3,000 years, often associated with the intellectual and artistic pursuits of noblemen and scholars.
**This piece is from "Wu Zhi Zhai Qin Pu"(1724), interpreted by Wu Jinglue.
