Shortness of breathe, chest tightness/cramps, anxiety/panic attacks, throat tightness/lump feeling. 3 months now. Just got through a really bad week last week, stay strong haulers.
So horrible. My brother is dealing with this. He had Covid two months ago and now tests negative for the virus. But he is still dealing with daily headaches, unsteady gate, and constant nose bleeds ... not to mention fatigue. There's a helpless feeling watching him deal with this.
@Dermot Fitzpatrick Bravo! Not to mention Candida overgrowth, and once that bad boy goes systemic..it can mimic dementia, arthritis..and the list just goes on! All linked to low stomach acid! I hope more people see your post!
My ENT suggested I do daily sinus rinses, there's multiple ways to do them. I boil 1 cup of water with 1/2 tsp sea salt for 5 minutes, let it cool to lukewarm (bath water) temperature, then spray it up my nostrils with a 100ml luer lock syringe (no needle of course). I find this less messy than the neti pots or nasal irrigation bottles. There's videos on UA-cam how to do it, you just want to be sure to use boiled or distilled water. Then I take a cotton swab with a little Neosporin and swab the inside of my nostrils. I didn't have a single nosebleed since, and it clears out my sinuses. I use the antibiotic ointment because I got a bit of staph overgrowth in my nose from all the antibiotics and steroids while I was actively sick with Covid-19. I hope he feels better soon, I feel this recovery 10 months out is very slow, but it is happening, so that gives me hope.
@@jessicah3450 I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with this. Since so many people are now dealing with these long term effects of the virus, I hope medical science will find a way to help people through this. Taking it seriously is, I believe, the first step. I heard the other day that Covid can also cause genital and erectile issues in men. Maybe this will get some attention from those who are so strongly into denying all of this.
@@itscoolerthatway Lots of people ending up really exhausted after Covid happen to be people, who often worked out or were running a marathon. Covid somewhat interferes with the metabolism, some end up diabetic. I often heard from marathon runners to have really big problems after Covid, not even being able to do a walk, so I'm assuming it may have something to do with fat burning, but as far as I know, it's very complex.
My great great grandfather almost died in the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918. He survived, but for a year he couldn't walk further than down his block. He was 40 years old with 2 teenagers and 2 young children and he was never able to go back to work full time.
It's so sad. I can relate. I have ME/CFS and most of the symptoms long haulers describe. Been sick since 2011, been mostly housebound since 2014. It took a long time to get diagnosed. I hope this pandemic can lead to a treatment.
Same thing with lyme disease, 14 years now. The thing Covid-19 has that our conditions don't is funding! I have long Covid now too, 10 months out, and the doctor said the same thing they said about lyme, there is no treatment, they can just try to treat my symptoms 😞
Well me to 30 years. Did support group work for 20 years and published a medical study. Took all their drugs with no help just more drugs to stop side effects from other drugs. They are acting like they never saw these symptoms before what baffles me. They also dismissed the Gulf War Syndrome people so good luck all.
12 months after getting Covid. I still have these symptoms. Heavy body, constant fatigue, high heart rate (tachycardia), trouble focusing, brain fog. Absolutely feels like you have taken benadryl or dayquil all day. I'm convinced this is absolutely a neurological issue. I also have autoimmune disease. Focusing on work is extremely difficult and the struggle is real. I hope experts can figure this out sooner rather than later.
Fatigue and brain fog have not subsided. I've contracted a new variant of COVID twice in the last 6 months causing acute bronchitis. So now I'm also short of breath most of the time which contributes to my fatigue. I'm no better than I was before and now I'm worse off. I havent felt good or normal in over two years now. 🤦♂️
I was hospitalized for respiratory failure due to COVID pneumonia. Thanks to the awesome hospital team of doctors and nurses, I recovered. My assumption of going back to “normal” has been shattered because I am still experiencing, like many, shortness of breath, fatigue and brain fog. Hopefully these studies will find out what’s going on.
Covid Long Haulers deal with many of the same neurological symptoms as Multiple Sclerosis. Acute, debilitating inflammation. I've had MS for 4 years. It's chronic, not a cold that "goes away".
I have ME/CFS and these are my symptoms. If drs would actually listen to their patients and believe us they would have seen this post covid syndrome coming.

Currently, get screwed over into at best, being reliant on often abusive family/friends/partners for the rest of their lives and at worst, literally going hungry and homeless because the government either doesn't approve them for disability or gives them FAR too little disability like the rest of us too disabled/neurodivergent to work or properly care for ourselves. The children of people too disabled/neurodivergent to work or properly care for themselves are either stuck in poverty/reliance on often abusive family along with their parents, or sometimes they get put into either state or another family member/relative's custody if the parent needs to go into a home because they can't properly care for anything even with enough funds anymore, or if there's a non-disabled/neurodivergent ex-partner in the picture who pushes for sole custody and now has a case because of the other parent's disability. Long-term disabled/neurodivergent life is often one of crushing poverty and regular, intrinsic disrespect towards your rights and autonomy as a (fully-grown) person thanks to systemic ableism. :(
And remember when we were told that the best thing we could do is expose ourselves to the virus and build "herd immunity" that way? (The only way to build herd immunity in THIS generation is by getting the vaccine.) I wonder if more people would have been more willing to take precautions if they knew that part of the illness could include long hauler symptoms.
My story, 35 years old. I had dizziness for 2-3 months. Weakness and tingling in the left leg and vision problems. Extreme insomnia that still lasts as well as episodes of moderate anxiety. I did an MRI/MRA. Everything is ok about the brain. There is hope for all of us.
Good point, I wonder if their immune system is so good it triggered an auto-immune response, now they have an unknown autoimmune disease, maybe immune suppression medications would help them.
You are correct. I had covid 12/2/20. I use to ride 30-40 miles a week on my bike during the whole lockdown. Garage workouts 3 times a week. Best shape of my life. It’s been 4 months now, shortness of breath, insomnia, extreme fatigue and exhaustion, chest tightness, anxiety, depression, lost of appetite, lost 30lbs. This is why I was SCARED TO DEATH to catch it or to spread it without showing symptoms. I am a teacher and I got the vaccine (both dosages) and have been graced and blessed by God to be protected during those months of terror prior to the vaccine and did everything to the extreme of not catching and I never caught nor had COVID and neither did my family. I had friends who had mild cases and some severe and I had family members pass from it. This is heartbreaking to know that most who got it still suffer long term effects of it.
God bless you girl! So glad you did your part of getting the vaccine as vaccines tend to prevent hospitalization, severe disease or long haulers along with other steps as vitamins, healthy eating, exercise, sleep and hand hygiene and masking when needed.
My husband got covid last November, it was mild, so he recovered fairly quickly. He still had fatigue, but it wasn't too bad, it was doable. Until this June when his employer threatened everyone's job to get them to get the jab, then his health went to 💩. Now he deals with chronic pain, can't sleep because of it & had arthritis all over his body. He's only 52. But looks & walks like he's 80. Very scary for our kid's
Steroids work for the symptoms but they're a catch 22, they treat nothing, just reduce inflammation and suppress your immune system to nothing. As soon as you stop them, all your symptoms come back, and they open you up for every other infection. You only feel good because you're on steroids. 😒
I do, too. Unfortunately, long covid shares symptoms with stuff like ME/CFS, MCAS, POTS, and other chronic illnesses that have spent decades being passed off as "all in your head" so I don't see a wide-working treatment for long covid anytime soon. I'm so sorry. :(
8 month later and I have all this symptoms here !! Frustrating I can’t even work. A cough that is dry never goes away, tingling on the right leg. My perception is also not the same I can’t seem to balance my self anymore also. Runout of breath and dizziness. I hope people get better and realize is this something that has us disable.
My brother has similar symptoms to yours Gerardo. It's the balance and unsteady gate that seems most concerning ... but the dizziness and breathing issues seem really horrible as well.
Many people who had covid are developing dysautonomia. It's so awful. I live with dysautonomia (with a different cause) and it's so hard. I feel for anyone with long-term symptoms.
I got that from lyme disease, I did feel drinking more fluids and increasing salt helped, getting up slowly and just trying to be more careful, staying in cool areas because I stopped being able to sweat...but that doesn't work anymore since Covid-19, it's made the pre-existing conditions worse. Sometimes tylenol helps when I feel overheated. Read how some people manage POTS, they're very similar.

"Numerous studies over the past few months have shown that about 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 will have symptoms that last longer than the typical two weeks. These symptoms affect not only people who were very sick and hospitalized with COVID-19, but also those with milder cases. According to a recent survey done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 35% of nonhospitalized patients who had mild COVID-19 cases did not return to baseline health 14 to 21 days after their symptoms started. And this wasn’t just in older people or people with underlying health conditions. Twenty percent of previously healthy 18-to-34-year-olds had ongoing symptoms. Overall, research shows as many as one-third of individuals who had COVID-19 and weren’t hospitalized will still be experiencing symptoms up to three months later. To put these numbers in context, only 10% of people who get the flu are still sick after 14 days." @Dermot Fitzpatrick Bravo! Not to mention Candida overgrowth, and once that bad boy goes systemic..it can mimic dementia, arthritis..and the list just goes on! All linked to low stomach acid! I hope more people see your post!
@Dermot Fitzpatrick It's likely going to take medical science a long time to figure this out.
I'm like literally at the gym in Atlanta trying to do cardio but after watching this im taking my butt home.

Go home
Yes, indeed!

Do you feel better? My mus is suffering so bad, fatigue and pain. Her Hashimoto worsened.
How are u?

I am a single mom and im slowly feeling crippled but i been pushing through coworkers and residents are being so mean to me due to the fact i can not work as well as i had and they like have no sympathy and keep pushing me harder and i just can't my legs swelling and killing me
Currently, get screwed over into at best, being reliant on often abusive family/friends/partners for the rest of their lives and at worst, literally going hungry and homeless because the government either doesn't approve them for disability or gives them FAR too little disability like the rest of us too disabled/neurodivergent to work or properly care for ourselves. :(
I feel angry. This was happening to people way before Covid. Same symptoms. CFS/ME.

I took 2 dose of moderna vaccine in March and still no side effects. Went on with my day.

I got that from lyme disease, I did feel drinking more fluids and increasing salt helped, getting up slowly and just trying to be more careful, staying in cool areas because I stopped being able to sweat...but that doesn't work anymore since Covid-19, it's made the pre-existing conditions worse. Dude what are we going to do this sucks
I am from India and I am too living with long COVID. But local doctors don’t believe and says I am just being paranoid and prescribe me with multi vitamins. I am so depressed.
Me too ... I'm really scared. How are you now?
Yup. It's debilitating.
I got COVID back in October last year and I’m still nowhere near normal. I still have yet to get all of my senses back, there is still so much I can’t taste/smell. I still can’t workout normal like I used to, because I get out of breath quickly. Some days I start to feeling better then there are days where I feel exhausted. I’m thankful I still work from home, because there is no way I could go back to a regular routine of working in an office at this time. But it’s starting to feel like I will never get back to my normal self.
How are u today?
@@shaft657 my senses are still off but breathing has improved.
Yes, 6 months for me
I’m 17 years old and got covid in December very mild wasn’t too horrible then recovered after 10 ten days. Was feeling good for 2 weeks then boom it hit me lol. First it was the severe body aches couldn’t breathe normally heart palpitations fatigue tension headaches chest tightness. I hope that there are some young people like me who are struggling with this as well haha
How are you now ? Same for me also.. I had covid 4 months ago but still struggling..
Same here. I had covid in April. Still cant work or study. Sometimes just getting out of bed seems like a task. I've been to so many doctors. The fatigue hasn't helped. My voice changed after covid. My cardiologist gave me beta blockers for the heart palpitations. It did get better but my ability to work normally hasn't returned. Did you visit a doctor? What did they say?
@@neetu8190 yes same situation. My doctor also gave me beta blocker.. how many days you are talking it ? And how long you have to take the medicine they have told you..
@@subhankarpaul1632 I've only been taking it for five days now. Current dose would continue for three weeks. After that, accordingly they will reset the dose. palpitations improve with meds but as soon as the effect decreases (20-22 hrs after the dose) heart rate worsens.
How is the beta blocker working for you? Have other symptoms improved? My fatigue seems very stubborn, even after mild exertion I become bedridden.
@@neetu8190 I am taking it for 7 days now.. little bit good but sometimes feels pulpitation but not like before little bit improve I think but still have fatigue .
That's the story of my life, and I'm not sure if I even had it. But no energy, tired, brain fog. Blah blah blah blah
Me too.
Same here.
You can get tested to see if you have antibodies, it's a simple blood test.
@@jessicah3450 Unfortunately, depending on where someone is and who they are they might've already gotten vaccinated already, which would guarantee that they have antibodies even if they were never infected. This is why I will likely never know if I ever got COVID or not, I started getting vaccinated before I got any sort of antibody or antigen test.
Did any of these patients have the antibodies treatment. I’m 70 and it took me about 2 months to recover but I had an antibody treatment.

Yes it’s makes you live like a 90 yr old
Us cfs me and fibro patients have had this for decades
NPR just had a segment that reports people with long hauler COVID symptoms are getting significant relief when they get the vaccine.
Try Ivermectin. I don't trust NPR.
I'm a month out now from my second dose of Moderna. I had so much hope because of that, but I feel the same. I also didn't sprout a second head or start transmitting 5g.
@@jessicah3450 not yet. But if you do, you can be sure it wasn’t the vaccine. 🙄
@@jessicah3450 so how you feel now ?
Good one as I have heard from several sources how some with long haul covid that got the vaccine have felt so much better with long haul symptoms gone. Vaccines can be effective.
thats called ME/CFS
Going for 1 month now still going through recovery
I lost my Vagal nerve to my stomach due to Covid
Leronlimab is being used in a randomized placebo controlled clinical trial to treat long haulers.
I had covid in February 2019. I was sick for 2 weeks, fever, cough up my lungs for 2 weeks, head cold and my nose ran constantly….it is almost 2 years now….I am still tired and still have chest pain BUT it is better I guess it takes time for the body to heal
True. I couldn’t walk without feeling dizzy. I’m 6 months trying to recover myself from been COVID negative
How are you feeling these days? I have dizziness for the last three months and I lost my balance. I’m so worried. I have to use a cane at time
It takes at least two years to recover from a major illness
Treatment = If you suffer from Long Haulers please ask your doc about Ivermectin, went from bedridden to kayaking in 3 days, it truly is a miracle.
I tried ivermectin
Not performant for me
@@OptimalLivingStrategies it didn’t work? Did you use it for Long Haulers or Covid? Do you know your dosage? I hate to hear that, this is the first time I’ve heard this.
@@jimedmiaston4594 18mg for 2days
after 1 week i took 18mg
@@OptimalLivingStrategies man I hate to hear this. What the protocol Ive been following is , 12 mg once a day for 5 days; then 12 mg once a week for 4 weeks. Was it in pill form???
Yes for Long Haulers;
12mg once a day for 5 days then
12mg once a week for 2/3 weeks
Hope you feel better
I was in the hospital for two and a half months. Doctors wanted to put me on a ventilator but I refused. Watch my calories and try to exercise everyday. I do have to do them in bed because my muscles are so stiff. Coughing and sneezing, headaches still a problem. Was alwAys active but now , I’m just a couch potato with no energy.
I have horrible fatigue and brain fog from October
How are u now?
Would like to know if they are getting any better today.. this is hardcore
I would have preferred more specific data. How many people have long-term Covid?
Yea like ...And you also get this!
To put these numbers in context, only 10% of people who get the flu are still sick after 14 days."
"The latest analysis of data from thousands of users of the COVID Symptom Study app from ZOE, published as a preprint, shows that one in 20 people are likely to suffer from COVID-19 symptoms lasting more than 8 weeks. "

Based on my research, covid19 does damage to red blood cells. They remain damaged until they are replaced. This covers a large portion "long covid" from 0-90 days. After that, you are looking at post-viral syndrome (also called chronic fatigue syndrome) with unique covid-19 specific aspects. Vaccines may provide some benefit. But it may last a very long time (years) if it goes past 3 months.
@@macmcleod1188 Since red blood cells only have a 180 day lifespan, I suspect that the damage to them is more likely to be a side effect of the viruses attack on the immune system. Since lesions in the brain have been found and clotting is common, it would be more likely for autoimmune issues to be a root cause over the damage to the red blood cells. But, that's just what I can glean from the journals atm.

The cells develop in the bone marrow and circulate for about 100-120 days in the body before their components are recycled by macrophages.
There are also studies showing it attacks the epithelial cells.
I did some digging on the lesions you mentioned and first page had this: ""What we found was that the very small blood vessels in the brain were leaking," Nath says. "And it wasn't evenly - you would find a small blood vessel here and a small blood vessel there."
The injuries resembled those from a series of tiny strokes occurring in many different areas of the brain, Nath says.
The finding may explain why COVID-19 patients have such a wide range of brain-related symptoms, Nath says, including some related to brain areas that control functions such as heart rate, breathing and blood pressure."
It's a really nasty disease compared to many.
