Some family members tried to escape by boat. But two princess, who were on the boat, were about to be captured by the enemy soldiers, they were beheaded by their own body guards - the boat was sunk. Some of the Shah Suja entourage escaped to current day Tripura and Manipur. It said that princess Gulrukh Banu Begum was captured and raped by the king Thudhama of Arakan. Governor of Bengal Mir Jumla rescued some minors Mughals.
