TextNow numbers do NO longer support whatsapp. whatsapp is cracking down on virtual numbers and have been very strict on virtual numbers, as most companies that require online activation using mobile numbers. With whatsap nowadays, if you provide a virtual number, and you dont get a message, a call will come in to provide you with the code, but no voice will be heard. when i emailed their support, they said that this happens when you use a virtual number, and that they now have a system in place that prevents you from receiving a code to your virtual number. so, not good methods
I was able to create 2ndline on my android phone. I was successful in sending a message to a friend of mine, without a sim card in my cell phone. Can I be charged by the telephone company for doing this?

I'm using the phone A to send the messages. I've created the contacts for both phones A & B. When I send a text msg to B, it works perfectly (sending & receiving). However, when I send a text msg to A, the msg never arrives. Can you think of why this is?

I own a mobile device that I use with Google Voice to make free calls and texts using Wi-Fi. I don't want a cell phone because the plans are too expensive and because I don't want to be interrupted by incoming calls, as I'm too busy during my retirement. I'm happy having a phone that works most of the time with no monthly charges.

TextNow US or Canadian numbers are VoIP numbers (not standard cellular numbers) using a voice/text app with wifi or free cellular data on a Sprint or T-Mobile phone. But, the Caveat is many two-factor authentication services that will not play nice with VoIP numbers.

You can have free incoming and outgoing calls and text using Google Voice.
