This was not the most popular SciFi show on Television, but it was the most fun of all of them.
I started watching Farscape because it was different. I like things that are different. I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like Farscape because it wasn't like Star Trek. Thank the Stars it wasn't like Star Trek!
Farscape is one of the all time great Sci-Fi shows ever made.

The best and most original scifi show ever, makes all the Trek universe stuff look really pedestrian. It is criminal that they haven't revisited that universe.
They are considering a continuation now, post Peacekeeper Wars
Most of the cast that wasn't killed off in the series could easily do this today
@@davidconner-shover51 I really do hope so. When you consider the rubbish that keeps on being made now it is criminal to ignore a property as original as Farscape.
A totally original vision. While I love the traditional SF franchises, this was unlike anything else. It ignored standard plot contrivances and had amazing, quirky, richly developed characters. Also, it never shied away from weirdness, which made it a wonderfully unpredictable ride. Damn, I miss this show.

Show was so DAMN underrated it hurts. My stepdad got me hooked as a kid. You now as an a 28 year old. I fucking love it even more. The peace keeper war movie was fantastic

I just went through the entire series a few weeks ago and let me tell you that it still is amazing to watch, it's still fun, it still hooks you. Sci fi shows of today don't even compare to the fun that was farscape.
Farscape was amazing.
Miss this show, when when the SciFy channel was a SciFi channel and had good programming, even their commercials for the shows were great.
Love Farscape. And I wouldn’t mind a Farscape: The Next Generation with Crichton’s son.
The final movie really brings the series home though. They'd have to find a good story arc. Sometimes it's best not to mess with stuff that worked at the time but probably won't again.

@@johncunningham4820 Nope, nope, nope. Movies and shows suck when they stick to past characters. Just having Crichton and Aeryn's son as main character and a bunch of new characters, that would be the way to go. The only thing they should maintain is the writing style.

Truly one of the best shows that was.
This show was just too good for tv. It was exclusive for people that have good sci-fi fantasy taste with new horizons experimentation with character development , aesthetics or story themes.
And the continuing story line was their downfall ... too difficult to join later ...
You are right Perfect for a ten episode per year Apple, Amazon or Netscape series.
there really should be more of an expanded Farscape universe. Such an amazing show. I wish we could get a next-generation.
John has a kid that will be born in 80 years once that princess is awake. If I have the details right. By then, Johns kid with Aeryn should probably have grandkids by then. My point is theres plenty of "next generation" stuff to explore.

Probably. But a few shows like The Orville is doing a decent job of balancing the woke stuff. And remember, Aeryn would fit right in with 2022 women lol. Guess my point is, depends on who makes the show.

Only recently started watching Farscape, somehow I missed it. What a gem, creativity level 1000 blows all modern sci fi out of the water.
I loved every minute of this show. I still love it to this day.
I truly LOVED this show ... and at S4 ... I screamed when it ended on a cliffhanger. Thank goodness they finalised the show.
Funny thing is, I'm only just now watching it for the first time, Just started season 2 last night. My god it holds up, because of the use of puppets you could broadcast this on cable now, and short of the aspect ratio you'd never know the difference.
You're really going to enjoy it.
Ahead of it's time, always looked forward to the next episode.

Same here. Some many good scifi shows you feel had a shaky first season before it settled in and found it's stride.
For me, Farscape hit the ground running. Like you said, I was hooked from the first episode.
I was hooked on Farscape from Day One. I still go back and watch the reruns on Amazon. Best Scifi show. EVER!

The amount of love put into the set designs, the animatronics, the puppetry, the costuming, and the writing was beyond amazing. Why can’t we get some of that with what SyFy has now?!?!
Such a lovely cast, and they all worked SO WELL together! I loved watching this show back in the day, and I'll love watching it again I'm sure. I'm also so glad they got a proper sendoff with the Peacekeeper Wars. Also, to this day Scorpius is still one of my favorite villains of all time, mostly because he wasn't a caricature, but rather a more complex character. Excellent performances all! John Chrichton's journey from lost astronaut to interstellar badass was a joy to watch. Also digging the music here lol.

I watch Farscape - 3 times now and after this randome youtube recommendation I'm ready for 4th times.

There aren't enough like buttons for this. Farscape is one of the best shows of all time. I wish a streaming platform would pick it up like stargate has been. I'm a 34yr old woman and i still idolize and have a lady crush on Aeryn Sun hahaha

Such a good show. Brings back happy memories from my twenties. It used to come on The Sci-Fi Channel, just before Lexx. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago. Time flies when you're getting old.

Loved watching this show as a kid and it still holds up when I watched it recently. I think it had a major influence on the Mass Effect games. I had great potential to grow into an entire franchise. Too bad it was forgotten.
Definitely! I remember when I played Mass Effect for the first time, I thought: They even have a blue chick that braingasms you!
Loved it then, love it now. Started the whole series again a few weeks ago. FANTASTIC and FUN!!!

There's a lot of endless content on this platform, that I generally never REALLY appreciate, but this.... Seriously, thank you for this.
I got really caught up in the series because it was totally different from any sci-fi show around that time except Battlestar Galecta which also defied expectations. I even have an autographed photo of Scorpious 😃

And I loved BSG until towards the end where everyone almost turned out to be a Cylon. It was getting to "doing it for shock value" territory for me.
I had zero issues with Farscape though. It ended on a high note.

We need more shows and more casts like these - and less like Star Trek Discovery.
I LOVE Farscape but I also really enjoy Star Trek Discovery. The first season was quite shaky but after that it got pretty good! I think as sci-fi fans, we should be supporting these shows because if we want a richer, more diverse palette of sci-fi (and I would love for something to be as ambitous and interesting as Farscape again), we need to be showing that sci-fi has a big audience.
I'm still frustrated about Stargate Discovery being axed so early. Not only was tv not ready for it (it would have been better as a binge watch than a weekly watch) but it was basically sabotaged by fans who were upset about Atlantis ending (and weren't prepared for a new spin on the core idea).
We have to show that there is mileage and worth in other shows and that studios can lay down money for other ideas and older properties, not just Star Trek.

Rigel gets killed off out of scene in the 3rd episode because he gets cancelled.
...and there's no ship because the idea of a thinking think being in service like that is too close to slavery.
Everything booted, rebooted, or sequelled in the last few years has been Destroyed by this nonsense that we watch shows to get away from... Please leave Farscape resting peacefully until it is Safe to bring it back.

I still watch this on disk. Still enjoy the plot and the characters. I wish they would bring this back.
Totally underrated, zany & great actors made this show a stunner. I simply couldn't wait to see the next episode each week! And for the finale, the music score at the end of the show, for me was otherworldly. It was unique, haunting and fitted the show perfectly!

If I was stranded on an island with one series it would be Farscape.
One of my all time favorite scifi series. Highly under-rated. Which makes it all that much more amazing. Please God don't let them ever remake Farscape into some woke trash.

Farscape was literally one of the best sci-fi shows in the entire world! I wish it had lasted longer. But everything we did get was beautiful :-) and Aeryn and Kryton ended up on Stargate so I still got to see them

I always referred to Farscape as the Star Trek from 'down undah!" This show and Babylon 5 always gave any Trek sequel a run for it's money!
Though I thought this show was "fun" to watch when it came out, I always liked Star Trek a little better. (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, Even ENT.)
But compared to the Trek that is out now, Farscape is leaps and bounds better!

That show was so good and had so advanced special effects for its time. It was better than the Stargate SG1. When I saw Zahaan for first time, I couldn't say if that was makeup or synthetic images. And Chiana, mmmh!

D'Argo and Anthony are so different the first time I heard him speak publicly it took me a while to reconcile he really was The Guy. Which just underscores what an accomplished Actor he is.

Farscape was on a channel called space in Canada I’d get home from work time my dinner for that night’s episode. Now with streaming I’m catching any episodes I missed when it aired.

the bank heist at the end of season one is such a great episode in my opinion as it brings back a lot of the bad guys from earlier on in the season, with my favourite being the gauntlet guy who turned away from a life of violence only to take it back up again and his parting words to the group are something along the lines of "Thanks for reminding me the fun of violence, bye."
"Farewell, my friends. Thanks for teaching me how to kill again."😄
