Joe Walsh has already lived 9 lives and it’s a miracle he’s still here to make his music. He’s been with The Eagles for over 45 years! Check him out on Daryl’s House (Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates)
Oh hari you appreciate music so much. I really wish you could time travel to the 70's in West Hollywood. If you do find a Harris please ask Joe for my red silk jacket, which he "borrowed" to match his red silk pants 😀 this music was so blessed joe, jackson, Warren, and so many others
You probably already know Walsh is rated as the 50th greatest Rock guitarist in history by the Rolling Stone magazine His solo riffs with the Eagles are legendary. The late great Glenn Frey said of Walsh that he was some of the nicest guys he ever met!
While it may be somewhat autobiographical, I've always taken this song to be making fun of the excesses of the rock-n-roll dream. He's got everything he always wanted, but is too wasted and (self-)destructive to enjoy it. "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
Yes this is autobiographical! He said that Kieth Moon liked him and took Joe under his wing. Joe said that Kieth liking him really scared him as Kieth Moon was nuts. He and Kieth would see who could do the most damage to their hotel room. Aspiring to sing this song as biography in twenty years is an interesting insight into the mind of Harri. All in all, it could turn out to be a worthy accomplishment. Truly no one wants to experience the darker side of Joe's life. He described it as hell. He credits Glenn Frey with saving his life with the Eagles Reunion. He claimed that he was circling the drain for the last time when the group picked him up, took him for treatment, and delayed the Reunion until Joe was back. The man is a Rock legend and truly deserves recognition for his skill, talent, and work ethic. He's a mad man with a guitar and an entertainer extraordinaire.
I think there is a touch of reflection/regret there too. Once you go on those benders and escapes from reality it can be a deceptive trip to nowhere. Thanks for liking a song I loved in 1978 aged 19.
Walsh's theme - the lack of self-awareness of someone with more money than sense - is hilarious. "Everybody's so different, I haven't changed." Genius.
One of my favorite lines is “ I go to parties sometimes until four, it’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door” Joe Walsh is wild and wildly talented.
He is also Ringo Starr‘s brother-in-law. He’s married to Ringo‘s wife’s sister. Ringo is going on tour again and Joe Walsh is going to be the guitarist in the band. I only hope he comes to Vegas so I can get tickets. I started playing drums because of Ringo and my drum set was the black and white pearl design that he had.
I'm 74 years old who's music era was the 60's, 70's and 80's. I enjoy your reactions to music that's new to you. I only watch a couple of three UA-cam channels and yours is one of them. I will recommend a song and musical group everyday that will not disappoint. I first commend (TOM BROWNE) - "FUNKIN FOR JAMAICA " VIDEO. as it's referring to Jamaica, Queens, New York. The second group is "EARTH WIND AND FIRE" choose any of these songs, they are all hits. (BOOGIE WONDERLAND, LET'S GROOVE, SEPTEMBER). They will not disappoint. Peace Out
Joe is a musical and lyrical genius. From james gang through all his solo stuff, proping up the eagles and his colaborations, such as daryl's house. He's simply a treasure
Love your reaction. Joe Walsh is to say the least... a character. When asked about Joe, Glen Frey of the Eagles, said that he's an interesting bunch of guys. If you haven't heard it yet, please check out Rocky Mountain Way (and his live version performed at Daryl's House is particularly memorable). He's a very talented guitarist with riffs that are immediately recognizable. I personally think that his ranking by Rolling Stone is way off. And for a little more Joe Walsh, give a listen to some of his stuff as a member of the James Gang... Funk 49 and Walk Away come to mind. I look forward to many more reactions! P.S. For a little more unique rock entertainment (with lots of piano and cowbell), I would love for you to react to Joe Cocker's Hitchcock Railway (studio version).
Fun Fact: Back in the 90s there was a sitcom called The Drew Carey Show, and there's one story arc where Drew starts a band, and Joe Walsh plays his guitarist.
For all the notice Joe gets as the Clown Prince of Rock, his solo work is full of extraordinary songs with thoughtful, introspective lyrics, which tend to be sadly overlooked. His first post-James Gang albums, for example (Barnstorm and Smoker You Drink …) show off an entirely different side from this track and his work with the Eagles. Well worth checking out for any who haven’t
This song had heavy radio play back when. Great classic, probably the most humorous rock song ever! Joe is a treasure, from the James Gang, solo career, then to the Eagles making them better! He's done it all successfully.
As wild as Joe was in his younger days, in the end he seems to be a man devoted to his family, an all around good citizen, a man who knows he is blessed and he's grateful.
Joe Walsh is an American rock singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. His career spans over 5 decades. He has been a member of three successful rock bands: James Gang, Eagles & Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. As a member of the James Gang they had a hit song with "Funk #49" & it highlighted his skill as both a guitarist & singer. He went solo in 1973 & had many hits such as "Rocky Mountain Way", "Life's Been Good", "All Night Long", "A Life Of Illusion", "Ordinary Average Guy" etc.
Joe Walsh is awesome! Great guitarist! He has had "fun". It's great to see him on tv in a guest spot. He has great comedic timing. Another great song to react to!
No one can rock quite like Joe Walsh. So much great music. Not to be missed is his “Funk #49” with The James Gang. And for a real treat, watch Joe with The Eagles, playing his “Rocky Mountain Way”, from 1977. Fantastic performance!
JOE WALSH, "LIFE'S BEEN GOOD TO ME SO FAR". Rocker Favorite of mine starting with the James GANG, in the late 60's. He had 7veral hits in his solo career including this one. Leading up to playing with the eagles on the Hotel California Album and touring.more ..."ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY", ""IN THE CITY", "THE CONFESSOR"
ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY, THE BOMBER, IN THE CITY, ORDINARY AVERAGE GUY, ANALOG MAN, are just a few examples of Joe's music you should hear. He's known as the Clown Prince of Rock and Roll. I think it was Don Felder of the Eagles who said of Joe , "He's a great bunch of guys."
There is a video out of him explaining this song. He did tear out a hotel wall because he wanted adjoining rooms they didn't have one so he went out bought a chain saw and made the rooms adjoining. The part about not being able to find the door at a party. He was so spaced out he walked into the closet!
I love that you discovered and enjoyed this song from my youth, yes, I’ve been enjoying this song for decades and still love it every time I hear it! Great reaction Harri! Carry on good Sir!
Great choice, Harri! This song always reminds me of when I had a summer job detasseling corn after my sophomore year of high school in 1978. "Life's Been Good" was always on the radio (which we could listen to while working) that summer, along with the theme song from "Grease," Bob Seger's "You're Still the Same," ABBA's "Take a Chance," etc. I particularly loved the guitar licks along with the clever lyrics in "Life's Been Good."
Love the shirt, Harry! JW's got a ton of catchy material..."A Life of Illusion"..."Ordinary Average Guy"..."Rocky Mountain Way"..."The Confessor"..."In the City" (from The Warriors movie soundtrack)..."All Night Long"..."School Days"..."At the Station"..."The Radio Song"..."Walk Away"..."I'm Actin' Different"..."You Might Need Somebody"..."Rivers" (of the hidden funk)...(more)
It is a lot of fun watching your reaction to this classic rock song. Personally, I was introduced to this song around age 9. I can remember singing it around the campfire ! Joe Walsh rocks. This s one of my favorite cruising songs !
This song is pretty much autobiographical, and he does have a white Maserati with personalized plates that read "DOIN 185" So if you're ever in Southern California and see a white Maserati with those plates, it's Joe.
You want to remember the times you trashed a hotel room, Harri?? Hhmmm .... I love the self-deprecating wit in the lyrics. And the tune, arrangement, playing, recording are damn good too. Next "Rocky Mountain Way".
Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr are brothers-in-law, due to their wives being sisters. Joe also hangs out with Paul McCartney, so the three are like a family. So Joe’s not just an Eagle, he’s combination. He’s a Beagle.
Good one Harri. Check out “Funk #49” from his James Gang days, 1970. If you like Joe’s glib witticisms, how about his 1973 album “The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get”.

Agreed! Joe has so much fun on Live From Daryl's House!
I saw that. First time I checked out Daryls house. But definitely not the last. Such a cool vibe going on.
oh LOrd yes. if there was a example of their is a God Joe and Keith are great examples they both should have been dead years ago
This entire album "But Seroiusly, Folks" is OUTSTANDING!

He should be at the top ten ! Very underrated.
50th? That is surprising. I would have had him top 20, at the very least.
I totally agree!
I also heard that Glenn Frey said Joe was an “interesting bunch of guys”.
He should be much higher. The guy was pure genius.
Life's been good for sure. Joe's brother in law is some guy named Ringo. Must be great being in that house when those two start jamming.
Look for “ Walsh, Ringo & Co - Funk #49.” Great recent 11-minute jam.
Joe Walsh: Humor plus fantastic guitar!! You can’t beat it!!
While it may be somewhat autobiographical, I've always taken this song to be making fun of the excesses of the rock-n-roll dream. He's got everything he always wanted, but is too wasted and (self-)destructive to enjoy it. "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
Same. From the first time I heard it
Yes this is autobiographical! He said that Kieth Moon liked him and took Joe under his wing. Joe said that Kieth liking him really scared him as Kieth Moon was nuts. He and Kieth would see who could do the most damage to their hotel room.

Question: How many times can you misspell Keith in one paragraph?
Answer: Four
Absolute genius....his brother in law is Ringo Starr!
If you haven’t already reacted to Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way,” it’s an absolute must. I prefer the studio version myself.
Yes! This song deserved your standing O.
My favorite line is. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door. 😆
I think there is a touch of reflection/regret there too. Once you go on those benders and escapes from reality it can be a deceptive trip to nowhere. Thanks for liking a song I loved in 1978 aged 19.
A total send up of the rock and roll lifestyle, and no doubt Joe did live it. Amazing that he’s still around!
He has a song called "The Confessor" it's my favorite song of his and I love all his stuff
My favourite Joe Walsh solo song and one of my favourite ever. So funny with great guitar work by Joe and interesting changes of pace.
Walsh's theme - the lack of self-awareness of someone with more money than sense - is hilarious. "Everybody's so different, I haven't changed." Genius.
My grandpa used to say,
"More dollars than sense"😂
One of my favorite lines is “ I go to parties sometimes until four, it’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door” Joe Walsh is wild and wildly talented.
for fun one night I re wrote parts of this song my words were I hope that isn't the vice squad at the door
"My Maserati does 185, I lost my license, now I don't drive...."
Please react to Walsh's " Rocky Mountain Way" You won't b disappointed!!
He does a live version of this song with The Eagles, which you can easily tell that the whole band has fun with this song.
Love Joe Walsh. This song is one of my favorites.
Some of mine, too ;)

I don't think Joe is touring with Ringo this year.
@@debjorgo I’ll check on that again but I’m pretty sure that’s what I read.
@@unclephil7650 Ringo's Tour page does not list Walsh.

Joe Walsh is FANTASTIC,,,,,pride of Cleveland. 💥💥💥👍🤪 my Maserati does 185,,,,🤣
Great song by Joe. Good one you reacted to. Check him out with the James Gang Walk Away

Check out his first band James Gang.
Joe stole the show at the Eagles concert in Toronto last week, and this was the best!
As wild as Joe was in his younger days, in the end he seems to be a man devoted to his family, an all around good citizen, a man who knows he is blessed and he's grateful.

I just want to say Joe Walsh is unbelievable he was in the James gang and the Eagles and has had solo hits
Joe Walsh is awesome! Great guitarist! He has had "fun". It's great to see him on tv in a guest spot. He has great comedic timing. Another great song to react to!

He ran for president, fantastic in guitar player
Joe is such a nice guy, despite his addictions many years ago.So happy for him,his family, and friends that he survived.
Love this song. Thanks Joe
🎵 I Can't Complain, but - sometimes, I still do 🎶 [this is one of the Best Lyrics in Rock lexicon]
There Are Two Joe Walsh Songs. In My Mind are his Best. This One and Ordinary Guys absolutely A Musical Genius
Note how Joe Walsh's final words to the song "Yeah Yeah Yeah" and Paul McCartney's final words to "The Long & Winding Road" are "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah"
Shoot, everyone always turns it off before its over. Theres a Flock of Whaa Whaa's that moves through at the end.
TURN TO STONE is my favorite Joe Walsh tune.
Funk 49 is a great song from the James Gang . The first group he was in, Also Walk Away!!
His song The Confessor is a must. So is Life of Illusion
Great song, amazing lyrics, lots of musical styles and transitions.
Check out Meadows, Turn to Stone, The Confessor and Life of Illusion from Joe, all classic rock greats
The Confessor is one of his best Deep Cuts and worth a listen
♥️♥️♥️his music has gotten me threw some rough times. It remains my mantra!
No one can rock quite like Joe Walsh. So much great music. Not to be missed is his “Funk #49” with The James Gang. And for a real treat, watch Joe with The Eagles, playing his “Rocky Mountain Way”, from 1977. Fantastic performance!

He was just on an episode of the TV show The Conners. He is a pretty good actor, and of course he played guitar and sang on the show :D
Had this album when came out in 78, the year graduated high school. Loved him and his sound since James Gang
He is awesome, solo and with The Eagles! Love your reaction room, btw!
