Exciting Final Glide over the Desert

An interesting end to a 900km flight in Namibia. After having an absolute blast in the southern part of the gliding sector, we headed back. Clearly the airmass was different here. It had been blue all morning and then quickly, there were spread-outs at an inversion. The nice clouds ended about 120km from Veronica. With a cloudbase of about 4500m, this was too far for our Arcus M to glide. We were in desperate need need of a thermal and the sun was already low over the horizon. We already planned on alternate airstrips to start our engine over. However, this amazing country had a surprise in store for us :)
