i really wanna see you react to TennisThom's break downs on these albums. he really helps get an understanding of an album, especially like Igor and Blonde.
22:06 Nikes is possibly my favorite track off blonde. I get that people don’t like it (and respect your opinion, cause it’s all just subjective) but I love the story told in the song and how it sets up blonde. It’s such a sad, yet somewhat happy song, and it just GETS ME. also, back when it came out, my dad used to play it in the car, cause he loved that song too, and loved what it did production wise. might contribute to why I love it too.
@@Double_youU_W The because the internet one is his best. I haven’t even listened to that album yet, but he described the album and screenplay so good. Also his animation improved alot.
If you want me to understand the story more I would really recommend watching tennis Thoms video on it. I watched it recently and every time I listen to blonde I get the story more and more
You should watch the tennisthom video about Blonde, it's a great video and it'll help you understand the story and make you appreciate the album more! (theres a IGOR version as well)
I had the same listening experience with blonde too. I still remember the first time I heard a blonde song, it was on GTA5 while I was cruising down the highway and I don’t really remember what song it was, but it was not hitting for me, and I never really listened to blonded again, and so like a couple months later I seriously started diving into music and finally got Spotify premium, I finally went back to Blond a couple days after I got premium and I didn’t really enjoy it with me only really liking Pink+White and nights, I didn’t go back to it for a while until the most random things happened, my sister had a frank ocean pin thingy on her backpack and I just decided i would revisit that day and wow man it hit. And when I say hit I mean hit, I didn’t enjoy every song but I enjoyed it way more than I previously did, some of the only tracks I didn’t like on that listen were solo(reprise) and somehow Self Control and I also didn’t like seigfried or Godspeed much so I was pretty much braindead until I listened to those songs again and they progressively just grew on me and now Self Control is my fav song off blonde. This album is also my favorite album ever now too, so it really just grew on me so much.
Nights was the turning point of the album, the beat switch is right on 30 minute mark in an album that was 60 minutes long. Another theory was that the album was split into 4 seasons, the first being Summer with songs like Pink + White, then into Spring, with solo and skyline to, then Autumn with songs like Self control and then Nights, the second half changing into winter, where the mood shifts with all the heartbreak songs like Godspeed, White Ferrari, and Seigfried. Looking even further into the album the final song Future Free is 9:34 minutes long, and the final question in the song is how far is a lightyear, now take a guess how far it is. Things like this is what makes this album so special, is that it dives deeper into just the actual music, but even having hidden meanings and easter eggs.
Chomp you should check out this guy "TennisThom" hes done a few deep dives into albums explaining the story with animations and drawings along with it and blonde is one of them (hes also done igor, damn and wolf trilogy for when you listen to that)
29:50 you were talking about how the album grew on you overtime and I have the same experience. At first it was good but the more i got into it, the better it was.
Bro, I was just on my first ChompTV stream for about 1 hour and man was it great. This is the kind of streamer we need, he makes sure to talk to chat (not to mention chat is very welcoming) and chomp tv states his opinions while taking into account his chats opinions! Thank you chomp for a great first stream and I’ll be I was MusicLover1022 btw
i used to hate nikes n skip it even after listening to the album so many times but after a while of replaying the album i def warmed up to it n i love it now i think u have to really appreciate his high pitched voice n get used to it for that song to click
PLEASE DONT TAKE THE VIDEO DOWN! Your reaction to Blonde was extremely vulnerable and real compared to how other people listen to it. I will say the chat was bad that day, but I really appreciated your thoughts and opinions in the moment while reacting to Blonde.
I love Blonde a lot. I’ve been glazing Frank for months. I relate to the song Ivy so much that’s why it’s my top one. but I do agree this album does take some time to grow, there are tracks that took at least about one - two weeks for me to get. I’m happy you like most of the tracks❤
Idk how familiar you are with them already but if your looking to venture outside of the Hip-hop/RnB genres of music I think a good place to start would be with Radiohead. As a band their sound has evolved so much to where no two albums sound the same (which can be said for many artists but with Radiohead the switch ups are actually crazy). The part that made me think of this in this video was when you mentioned vulnerable moments caused by music and I think almost every Radiohead album has done this for me, (Especially Kid A but don't start with that one please)
ay if you still dont get the story of blonde (trust me I was confused too lmao) then you should go check out TennisThom's explanation of it he does it rlly well and does a really good job of visualizing it, trust me brodie he's the goat fr
you should really take the video down, for your sake and the viewers. u don’t wanna promote that chat behavior to anyone else that thinks it’s funny. but glad that despite that, you still kept listening to it and connected to it. W Chomp❤ (Cherry bomb reaction next)
If you really want to understand the album you should definitely watch tennis thom he has lots of deep dives that explain albums with animations and details
It depends on what you like. If you prefer rapping, start with if you’re reading this it’s too late. It’s a mostly rap focused project and has a lot of songs with his cold and moody sounding production. It’s a good gateway album to his music. Also check out the 6 deluxe songs on the scary hours 3 EP. He raps over some Griselda type beats and has some of the best raps of his career on there. If you like a more atmospheric experience and blending R&B and rap, go for take care and nothing was the same. Nothing was the same is where he perfects his craft in my opinion. You get a really incredible soundscape that has hazy, late-night, and warped sounds, and his performance plays perfect into it. It’s his most consistent album as well, and has so many amazing tracks. If you like what you hear, go through so far gone and listen to the rest of his discog in order. You get a lot of different styles across all his projects. I’d say post scorpion (excluding dark lane and her loss) there is a dip off in terms of the full album quality, but every project has at least a few songs that I love.
I feel like if your ever going to listen to any emotional albums. Try just recording yourself reacting to it instead of reacting to it live you know? Then like make a video with your thoughts in it.
Yo chomp if you haven't already i recommend you react or at least listen to "melt my eyez see your future" by denzel curry. I feel like you'd like it man
Even tho you didn’t win, you will always be my hidden gem and fav streamer of the year
I am so happy that Seigfried grew on you, seigfried helped me through tough times in my life and that song was like a escape from reality for me.
Same, that’s my favorite song off the album. It hits so hard every time (the Justice Der cover is great too)
i really wanna see you react to TennisThom's break downs on these albums. he really helps get an understanding of an album, especially like Igor and Blonde.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
this is exactly what i was gonna say, its an amazing video
Yes
That’d be pretty cool
literally, his video on the wolf trilogy is the reason that I actually appreciate wolf as the amazing album it is
the chat on the blonde reaction was tragic and you deserved a better first listen.
