      My wife has an RMR on her carry gun . She wanted another for a full size range gun. She found out how much it was and didn’t proceed haha . Getting my wife at least shooting a box once a month has helped me acquire some nice kit .

    For a lot of the guys on the fence about it: if you have a friend that shoots long range matches ask if you can tag along and swing him some money for ammo. People at long range matches are extremely friendly and will lend you any gear you want to try out and some will even let you run their rifles. We also always let new shooters practice setting up for a stage and going past the time limit to get more shooting in. Get out there and try it out, don't let lack of gear hold you back!

      Don't let those long range guys convince you that you need 10k in gear to get started. Those guys at my range have setups that cost more than my car 😂

    Shooting sticks are severely underrated for this topic and really should be brought in. Ultralight, collapsible, extremely handy in urban & rural environments and enable shooting out from within a room while standing.

    In my old age mag dumping into piles of trash no longer satisfies me . Thanks for the essentials to get me more suited for long range.

    Truth. Same for every kind of internet gun trend. Speaking to myself as well, most people by now have enough gear, it's a matter of competing in the match, taking the class, and doing those range sessions with purpose. Then get better gear as you outgrow your equipment.
    "I can't hike in the woods till my recce loadout is complete"
    "I can't learn CQB till my plate carrier is setup"
    "I can't take a lesson to fine tune my skills, I'm saving up for NODS"
    "I can't compete till I get (insert expensive comp gun leaving no budget for ammo)"
    And so on..

    I love that you said SPR, DMR, Recce, SASS, etc is just terms in specific contracts. I find it so hilarious these Instagram couch riders get so upset when i say i have a super gun, its a SPDMRECCE that can easily be pressed into a SASS role. 😂😂😂

      @@mikehoncho806 i believe I paid $10-$15 for it, it’s not a subscription based app i believe they have a pro version that’s subscription based. I use it on my iPhone, I primarily use it for .223 or 5.56 but you can use any caliber you want. You can plug all your bullet and weather information in and it will give you the calculation for MOA or MILs and show you a table for whatever distance you want and you pick what retical you have and it shows you what it would look like.

    Add chrono

    • @bruiserindustriesllc
      @bruiserindustriesllc Рік тому

      yes and no, it helps to measure a lot of things but to start it isn't needed. you need to understand SD and ES but just to get started? no. a magnetospeed can be a great tool if you get serious into it but it isn't one of my first purchases and I have students every single scoped carbine class engage really far out there with truing and no chrono. I have a lab radar and a magnetospeed so yes they can be helpful but we didn't have one there and its a nice to have... not a must have until you really start reloading or competing at a high level.

    • @beardedred0032
      @beardedred0032 Рік тому

      @@bruiserindustriesllc I meant a stand alone chrono like a competition electronics or other which are about 100 bucks. Local matches out here go to 700. Local public ranges go to 300. I haven't figured out a cheaper more efficient way to get a rough estimation of drops beyond 300 without using a cheap chrono. I'm sure there is one and it would make for a great video
