OMG...this brings back memories about my Grandfather in Sumter SC. He use to have bamboo rods...wow...I feel like crying right now. Mama would clean them fish and I hated them scales but I loved eating them fresh fish tho. Mama always saved bread bags to bag up the rest and freeze them. Daddy would smoke his pipe with apple tobacco after he ate. Thank u for this video my luv. You made me very happy!!!

That's that down homestyle fishing my late grandparents used to do with me earlier in life. I don't fish like that today but I surley do miss that type of fishing, I call it the deep south style fishing. I haven't peeped anyone up here north of you here in southeastern michigan applying your much educated rooted missed expert fishing alumni. I found your presentation a much needed know how for anyone whom decides to take the time to peep and learn, or apply from it. You got a 1000 major stripes from me. Since the michigan executive stay in shutdow order's been in place, most of the time. Venture out of boredom go out and exercise shore fishing trials, don't own a boat but I glad I don't own one, that's saved dead presidents. I tore up a rod the other day oh well, what an educational program you've shared please share something else.

Something about the manner and to the fact that is really intriguing and keeps you really interested in the story your telling. Excellent!!

I don't know how I happened across this channel, but I'm so glad I did! I grew up in Detroit, my best childhood memories were summer's when all my grandma's chil'len (nine of em) would go home to Orangeburg, SC. She'd send one of the hogs to market, for a big outside bbq and fish fry (yep, caught in the creek). I was planning on going this summer, but the pandemic, stopped all of that, but baby.......this video was just like being there!!!! THANK YOU! Mr. Fennell, you're an awesome commentator, too!

Art, fantastic video! Reminded me of my brother and I living around Minneapolis as kids back in late 50"s. We would collect night crawlers and save them in our work farm. We'd get a can full and head to the nearest lake with our cane polls and catch a mess of crappie, sunfish, and bulkhead for the family Friday fish fry. The simplest most enjoyable pleasures.

Mr Fennell....THANK YOU!!! First of all, you just need the right break and you'll have your own travel channel show - or maybe something even better. You were gifted with a FANTASTIC voice, and your screen presence is exceptional. BUT...the best part was the lifestyle you so wonderfully showed us! It's a lifestyle I know so well. Born and raised and still live in the great state of Mississippi, and Mr. Colin does things exactly like my dad. The memories are too many to count, but making our own poles, digging our own worms (or even seining a small pond for panfish bait), walking to the pond or creek, catching a "mess" of bluegill bream, and then cooking them up for the family...all that was part of so many of those recollections. Thanks for a great trip down memory lane!

I grew up catching night crawlers. My father would take us out at night after a good rain. We'd catch so many that we kept them in the frig. Then we'd go fishing and have a great time catching fish. He taught us to clean, cook fish. Great memories of my Dad.

    Art,
I rarely make comments, but this is my new favorite channel. What’s great about your channel is how the boys get to bond and it reminds people of their childhood. Reconnecting with the past through good food, friends, and beer. What else do you need in life? Keep up the great work brother! Love your channel! BTW, we need to get you to a million subscribers! Best channel on UA-cam hands down!!!!
