  • The 24V DC supply is very bad, bad enough at low voltage the output on the meter errors.
    What do we do?

I added an lm317 to this kit, which supplies the operational amplifiers, with the lm317 the maximum voltage can be controlled, the collectors of the transistors are fed directly, I prefer opa177gs, lf411acn, lf356n, only the off set is changed to U2

@@sajohaker can it output 2volt 4 or 5 amps of current?

    hello,
    I have a good quality (toroid) 2x12V 5A transformer.
I'm thinking of making two options on this PS board via a 2-position toggle switch (ON-ON)
    a) for output operation 0-24Vdc 2.5A (this is the easy one)
    b) for 0-15Vdc 5A output operation
    does there is a possibility
to use the rectified 2x12 Volt voltage, at the input of the circuit (eg above 4700mf ????
there is a way ??? (because as I see the circuit design it cannot be done
    ***any idea ????
    Thanks

Hello, I am currently buying this kit online, is there something wrong in the pcb diagram? can we also replace the lm7812 into adjustable lm317? I have notice that the output of DC has a ripple voltage, can I add more filter capacitor and some protection diode in the circuit?

If the kit has the pass transistor (D1047) on a 90 degree with the 24V regulator then in my experience the kit won't work. You could replace the 24V for a 12V regulator, not a LM317, remember to account for watts dissipated by the regulator, which is dependent on its load. In order to power a voltage meter you may need to add a small capacitor across regulator output. On a Hyland board the regulation is fine.

@@Elecifun thanks very much but I'm more curious about the op amp, can you tell me what is the purpose of the op amp or can you make a video about analyzing or function of each components in the circuit if you have time

Can this kit be upgraded to 5a?
And what components should be replaced?

You could try three pass transistors in parallel. Make sure to use a low value 0.1 ohms on each emitter to ground. Also your transformer will need to be able to supply the current.
I've used two pass transistors 2SC5200's and get 4 amps@ 7V powering a car headlamp. The heat sink gets really hot so a fan at least.

Whats happened to your comments. It's fine picking me up on stuff.
I.E. If I remember I said on the output and input where I meant output ground or on lm317 adjust. I know what you mean though.
I like constructive feedback, helps me check myself and learn.. Ave at it m8

@@Elecifun I always leave axial rectifier diodes 5mm off the board too, allowing air flow all around them and the longer the leads the less heat is transferred into the pcb, the pcb may be poorly designed and have temperature sensitive components close to components that get hot ie a zener shunt regulator/voltage reference near a power resistor or rectifier diodes ..
