As an Aussie I’m glad to see Jason Doyle winning. I wouldn’t class myself as a proper speedway fan, but I do go regularly over the summers in my home town. Out local track, Gilman Speedway, isn’t as flash as this one but it’s still great racing. On a good night there’s probably a couple of thousand spectators, so it’s not as popular as it used to be but still very competitive. I like the solos, but I love the sidecars. Something about a straight 4 screaming it’s head off whilst going sideways without brakes just does it for me.

Other than this video, I haven’t seen Speedway racing since the late 1960’s/early 1970’s. I haven’t been able to find it in the US of A.
