I had bricked my Kindle Fire and had pretty no hope when trying to unbrick it when I tried downgrading it to root and then failing and then updating to restore it then bricking it with that update. I decided that installing Android would be a way better option and it has completely fixed it, made it better even.
So I followed all your steps and got cm 11 on my fire HD 6 (4th gen) after I got sick of it cus I couldn't use the Bluetooth I went back to stock and was able to keep root on the newer Kindle firmware!! I installed the Google store and got Nova launcher! after freezing the Kindle fire launcher it's like I'm running Android with everything working perfectly and all ads are gone!! it's awesome Thanx man I learned a lot doing all this.

according to dev, noah camera app works. Have not tried it yet just passing on info.
Are there any custom ROMs where the camera does work -_-. It's like half the fun/functionality.

Please respond. I have an Amazon 6 device and I have version 4.4.4. I want to update it to version 5.1+
Why downgrade to Android 4.4 from Fire OS 5 which is Android 5.1? Why not just install Google Play and call it a day?

I got Google Now Launcher working without root. All you need is Google Play, Launcher Hijack V2, and Google Now Launcher.
