This is actually the Japanese version. Those water drop sound effects are higher pitched in the American version. I really do like this version though. It sounds more menacing.
Music like this is why paper mario has one of the most memorable OSTs to date.

I loved how every level you moved up the music would get more intense as you got closer to the big bad
And then silence.
Exploring Bowser's castle was one heck of a great experience. Loved the puzzles found in there.
