One of my fondest musical memories from my days at the High School of Music & Art was playing this piece under the baton of the man who commissioned it, Alexander Richter. I was a trumpet player in those days so I had a really good part to play. The year was 1957 so it was less than 20 years since the piece was composed. I am 75 now but playing that opening trumpet solo feels like yesterday. We all felt very special that a titan of American music wrote us a piece this nice.

I was a percussionist - played timpani and also the xylophone part! Venice High School, class of 1965. Hearing that still brings up goose bumps!
You just made me feel more honored to be playing that trumpet solo in my symphony so many thanks❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sir you are part of history and a great masterpiece. Bless

A quite decent performance all things considered.
ouch lmao
What was going on during the clarinet solo?
Nail gun solo?
Maybe someone was rehearsing for the 1812 overture at the wrong time & place?
Sounds like a grounding issue in the speaker system. Definitely unintentional.
