- Come behind the scenes with me to see how I styled, photographed and edited these fine art portrait photoshoots of a young girl dressed in elegant steampunk and two adorable doberman dogs. I used my Canon EOS R camera, Canon EF 24-70 1.8 lens and 3 Canon 600 EX Speedlites in my home portrait studio in Gilbert, Arizona.

I entered one of these portraits in The Portrait Masters international competition and accreditation program and earned a Silver Award. Out of over 11,000 entries, roughly 400 portraits earned silver. I’m honored to be featured among such incredible photographers.

I like to put an elegant spin on the steam punk style that is very fun, quirky and inspired by 19th century Victorian fashion. I knew I wanted a brown and black color scheme for this photoshoot to compliment the doberman dogs and my young model Amelia. So, I went to Goodwill, my local thrift store and found a black lace skirt, black satin shrug, and a women’s silky brown blouse. I knew the blouse would be too large for my model but I loved the collar and ruffle details. So I deconstructed the blouse and turned it into a sleeveless blouse, ruffled belt and ruffled wrist cuffs that would easily fit my petite model.
Hi Nicole…Excellent all around…I really learned a lot from you…Cheers Bob

Very interesting...and a very good portrait!
Thank you very much!! :)
Another beautiful portrait from such a talented artist. Your thoughtful execution (from concept to final product) definitely shows in your work!
I found your UA-cam channel yesterday while researching painting canvases and think I have now watched all your videos! So much of what you showed in the canvas video helped me resolve some issues - from painting two and using one for the flooring, the bar for the backdrop stand, storage of the backdrops, etc)...now if I could just sew I'd be all set, lol!
I am curious about the backdrop in this video and your roll setup. It looks longer - or maybe its set up 9 wide? I was looking for the bottom seam (of 2 joined) but it appears to be one solid backdrop. Is it longer and did you also hand paint this one?
Thank you again for sharing your creative process in such detail with others!
Awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with me! Sewing takes time but is so much fun once you get the hang of it :)
Beautiful! Can you tell me the paint colors you used for your canvas backdrop? I love it!
Thank you for the feedback. The paint colors are included in my canvas painting video. Here is a link if you haven't seen it already...ua-cam.com/video/ivO3vA9t4vQ/v-deo.html.
the colors are listed at 8:36 in the video :)
@@NicoleCarsonBonilla than you! I will watch it again, I missed that.
