Awesome video, tried to replace my old 2fo shoes with another brand, hated them and just ordered the new 2fo. I had issues unclipping the old 2fo in crankbrothers, cleat was to centered and caused the foot to hit the crank arm in certain positions and not disengage causing falls but loved the shoe so I purchased the extended crank arms and had 5 years of riding in those shoes before the soles started to fall apart
Thanks @bob8fred yes these 2fo’s are different but do look better and are pretty comfortable. Hopefully you will enjoy another 5 years out of the new ones.
Thanks for the review. Doesn't the new version have worse ventilation of the toebox? The old one seems to have the fabric tongue material extended to the front of the strap, and in the new model the exposed tongue ends with the lower Boa and I in the closeup I see there are only some microperforations over the toebox, which usually don't work too well?
Good question, you are probbaly right although I don't think either of them are great for ventilation but I don't usually suffer from my feet overheating. The new ones have some ventilation on the sides and also feel more padded/ plush that the old version.
@@jaselikesbikes My feet seem to like to get damp in the toes area mostly, so I guess for me ventilation in that specific area is very helpful on long accents in warm summer days. I'm able to still get these older models, slightly cheaper but not that much though. But the toe ventilation in the newer one seems like a regression, and with more padding you mean that it might be warmer still?
@@OYeahan maybe although I havent noticed. If you are happy with the older model maybe stick with them for a while, the added bonus is that they should be cheaper.
@@jaselikesbikes IDK if I'm happy, I just ordered to try them on. Hard to get trail shoes that would fit me (wide feet) and that would suit my needs. These are one of I guess only 2 models with trail thread and 2x Boa; other is Scott AR something that supposedly has even worse cooling
pricy indeed, but Specialized put a lot of technology and R&D onto their products, and riding 3+ hours and not feeling any pain after might be worth the extra bucks...

@@OYeahan I have the same problem and need 2 x boa for my fat feet.
Nice job.
Thanks David.
How to choose shoes size is different from normal shoes?
Yes, the only way to choose them I think is try them. I tend to be a size bigger in cycling shoes.

Very true, I hade an over 5 hour ride time yesterday and no problems in the wet.
