A few years back, we visited Kodachrome Basin State Park as our back-up plan because we failed to win the lottery for The Wave, and we were not disappointed as we were able to hike the Panorama, Angel's Palace and Shakespeare Arch trails. It's a beautiful and well-managed park, and I'm glad you were able to visit. Thanks for bringing back such wonderful memories for me, Pastor Randy!
This park is totally overshadowed by Bryce Canyon, which is not far away. You should probably do more State Park videos because a lot of them are just like mini national parks anyway. I have been to Kodachrome Basin State Park before, and I loved it. I went during a holiday weekend also, and I was so shocked by how so few people were there! I'm glad you got to see this place for yourself. Thanks for sharing another adventure with all of us, my friend!
Thank you so much Randy. Kodachrome Basin State Park is absolutely Beautiful and so unique. Your videos are truly excellent and very professional looking. One of the many reasons why I love hiking is that I feel closer to God when I'm outdoors, enjoying His perfect creation... God Bless you and your friends... Robin :-)
Just incredible ! Obviously all of us watching are fans of the National Parks but many of the State Parks across the uS are just as incredible. I was blessed to work as a State Park Ranger doing summer programs for kids at several site in Santa Cruz and WOW they are something to behold. So amazing that so many entities protect these precious places. Loved the footage you were able to get here. I'm wondering if any human eyes had been laid upon some of the places the drone captured before (?) Pretty amazing! Thank you for sharing and much love
What a wonderful gift, getting to see all of God's masterpieces! You are a blessed man to see so much beauty! Thanks for letting us travel with you on these videos! We look forward to each and every journey!
Brother Randy, The evolution of the channel has been almost as enjoyable as being able to virtually go with you on your adventures. You're honing your craft with the cinematography (drone & camera). Well done 👍. Utah is hands down one of our favorite places to visit. The terrain is beautiful. Keep up the good work. Stay safe on your travels. God bless
Kodachrome Basin is my favorite of the Utah state parks and I ended up visiting after my first visit to Bryce Canyon as a back up plan because Bryce was covered in snow! Super glad that you got to visit Kodachrome!
I have been to the Mighty 5. All are gorgeous 😍. But I have wanted to go to several of Utahs state parks. This is one. Thanks for taking me there. There are several state parks that look gorgeous. This is one. Thanks again for taking me there.
For sure a lot of beautiful state parks I think you should do more of them! Plus they're not as crowded. Learn something new today watching America's Parks coyotes are in the cat family 😅 thanks for sharing!
Utah has SO many beautiful places. It was one of our favorite states. Congrats on getting your drone license. I took the test last spring and definitely had to study, but I really did learn a lot. Thanks for sharing your hikes and adventures in this wonderful country. Many blessings to you and family. Merry Christmas, John and Bev
That’s pretty cool: I recognized the table at the pizza place. That was not only the pizza place we ate at on our trip in June, but we actually sat at the same exact table. So we basically shared a table … that’s something!
Had I known, I would of jumped out in a full body Sasquatch costume after 3:54 to 4:02. On a serious note, the drone content mixed with music has that million dollar production studio vibe; some felt like the ending credits to a good movie. This is the only National Park (and now State Park) UA-cam Channel where I often feel a spiritual awakening.
Thank you for showing us this wonderful state park. Visited a few years ago when there were a few cabin rentals in the park. We enjoy road trips throughout the states but being from the UK we had only two weeks for each trip. I had stopped at Kodachrome to mainly visit Bryce but wanted somewhere different to stay. We explored some of the park in the evening with some glorious colour to enjoy. The following morning it had snowed at Bryce so we curtailed our morning that was planned in Kodachrome to revisit the now snowy Bryce. It has been good to see some of the other trails in the state park. Having found your channel I have subscribed and look forward to re-visiting National Parks and hopefully seeing some that I have sadly missed. Thanks for sharing.
Great Video! Hopefully you turned left onto the dirt road when you left the State Park and drove down Cottonwood Canyon Road. It too has amazing scenery!!!
Thanks! Another one to add to the list! lol! We hit Willis Slot Canyon in the morning so by the time we finished that trail at Kodachrome, we were pretty much done for the day.
There are so darn many great places in Utah. You could spend over a month there hiking every day and not cover it all. What a great state! Lower Calf Creek Falls is my favorite. Good work as always, Randy. Happy Holidays!
Thanks, my friend! Yes, every time I hit a Utah location, I seem to add three more to the list! lol! Hope to have a Calf Creek Falls video coming in January.
Wow! Such a beautiful and peaceful place. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful video. New subscriber here😊. Happy New year in advance. God bless🙏🏼
Spectacular! Your drone footage is awesome. It’s cool you were able to use it and with so few people around, it couldn’t bother anyone. I always appreciate how thoughtful you are with it and note when you are outside of National Parks. Music went great with it too!
Hey Heather... yeah, always try to be sensitive with the drone, for the two reasons you mentioned. Appreciate your attention and affirmation on that one!
You are getting pretty handy with that drone, sir! May need more State Park vids with opportunities like that! And I would rather run into a rattler than a coyote cat! ;)
My spouse Vicki, daughter Tanja and I visited Kodochrome Basin State Park two years ago after vising Bryce Canyon. The two parks make for nice companion parks to visit since they are so close to each other. Nice video with your three friends.
Utah has to be one of my favorite in terms of diversity to explore from top to bottom of the state. This is a cool park! The red rock walls and human sandstone marks! Beautiful views. Interesting how the sand color even changed in the cool cave.
Hi brother Randy. My wife and I just got back from our 7 month trip out west. Amazing. 24,000 total miles and to many fabulous sites to mention. One national park that we had never visited before was Capital Reef. It was one of our favorites. We are so thankful God allowed us to take this trip and view so much of His creation. Don't know if we'll be able to do it again in a few years or not but would like to if God permits. Thanks for all of your videos. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family. 👍🙏👫💕
I love Kodachrome basin State Park. We just camped there two nights in Sept. Used it as a jumping off place to see Willis Creek Slot and Bull Gorge. We hiked to Panorama Point at sunset and if you go all the way to the end it gets very narrow like Angels Landing in Zion
Randy, Mountain Lions and Snakes, oh my! it is so great that you are showing a state park that could be a national park. The color and resolution in your video and drone footage is amazing on the 80” TV screen! I was thinking of all the state/national park combos like Redwoods. My favorite Redwood park is Prairie Creek State Park, which I know you have visited. Another great example is in the city of Colorado Springs, the Garden of the Gods city park. The spires and rock formations in your video to resemble a holy place, your music is so appropriate. Those holes or “claw marks” in the stone are very interesting. THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG ON YOUR HIKE! . . . Mike
I so enjoy all of your amazing videos!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH and please keep them coming. Question for ya…. What is the song at 7:05ish? Can’t seem to find it anywhere. Lovely choice!

LOL, hey Randy Joyce and I are having pizza as we watch. Man oh man your drone footage is really incredible. What an amazing state park. Always good to see y’all and I will pass on the sausage as well😉
Wow man! Your drone evolution is going GREAT! Sweet flying. Quite addicting as a camera guy! You’ve go to through in a helix and speed ramp like I did in the mount evans early in that video. Running them in reverse is cool too! That little thing is just amazing. Really took this video to a new level.
Lovely dramatic/hymnals you play during your landscape sweeps. Better than the honky tonk. Wow, impressive how you kept that drone from bumping against those close canyon walls!
It’s a beautiful park. I visited there a number of years ago. Also, visited Grosvenor Arch nearby and drove Cottonwood Canyon Rd. to Rt. 89. There are some truly surreal landscapes in the that area.

Thanks for the feedback, Bill! Try to keep it fairly balanced. Others will never get to the Parks and do appreciate the cinematic view (kind of fun on my end too, lol!). Either way, drones are illegal in most of the parks I visit so the footage is by default limited. Glad you still enjoyed the video and do appreciate your take!
No, thankfully the guys were fine. The joke was that I ate a sausage (from the vistor's center) at Isle Royale NP a month earlier and got horrible food poisoning. ua-cam.com/video/8ccF6PB3bM4/v-deo.html

Hey Jymn, yeah those state parks can often get overlooked. Thanks for the kind words!
Great scenery. Not so bad for a mere state park, is it? Good music selection, btw.
Thnaks so much... glad you enjoyed it!

Looks like Garden of the Gods and Badlands had a baby in Utahs back yard. Pretty cool.
Good comparison! Thanks for joining us on this one!
Kodachrome Basin is my favorite of the Utah state parks and I ended up visiting after my first visit to Bryce Canyon as a back up plan because Bryce was covered in snow! Super glad that you got to visit Kodachrome!
Thanks so much, Jordan! Hard to go wrong with any "park" in Utah. Take care!
So fun to watch the amazing drone footage. I liked the cave and view at the end.
Think this was some of our best drone footage on the trip!
Amazing Drone Footage. So spectacular to watch. I’m sure it’s even better in person!
Thanks for the kind words, Kristen! Have a great week!

Great to hear that Tom! I've avoided the state parks for way too long. Utah has so much to offer!
Beautiful footage and I enjoyed the music as well!
Thanks, Dave! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
We hiked there about 10 years ago and loved it. There was hardly anyone there and our dog could come along with us on the trails!
Great to hear, Jane! Hope it brought back some good memories.

Lovely dramatic/hymnals you play during your landscape sweeps. Better than the honky tonk.
Wow, impressive how you kept that drone from bumping against those close canyon walls!
Thanks for your kind words! Heart is always beating rather fast on those drone flights. lol!
Beautiful! But to be fair, a lot of Utah would be a National Park if it were located somewhere else.
So true, Renee! Told the guys that... "if just this one rock were in NJ, the whole state would be flocking to see it!"
It’s a beautiful park. I visited there a number of years ago. Also, visited Grosvenor Arch nearby and drove Cottonwood Canyon Rd. to Rt. 89. There are some truly surreal landscapes in the that area.

I needed to hear that, Andy! Have a blessed week, brother!
At 0:4:20 I expected him to be reading off a trail sign or something xD
haha! Yeah, think he had a little help with the park brochure! lol!

State parks are really cool to visit. I hope to visit more of those in the future.
Congrats on passing! Really impressive that you did it without any classes. All the best!
Love this place. I overnighted there and spent the next morning exploring before moving on to Bryce Canyon. I will return to explore more of it.
Sweet... glad to hear you enjoyed this gem! Utah sure is full of them!
Wow, very cool scenery and landscape, Randy! Really like the drone footage clips...and congratulations on passing your part 107 FAA test, definitely a lot of information to take in (but worth it)!
Thanks, Mark! Make it a point to take advantage of all the effort it took to pass that test! lol! Take care!

Our drone test was no joke either - probably one of the hardest tests I've taken too! The coyote, the newest animal to the cat family, lol. The pizza sounds much better than those sausages! Great adventure as always!
