Thanks for the lesson. However, I was told that we use the past simple tense to express past actions. Why is the present perfect used to express yesterday's actions?
We use past simple to talk about actions that happened at a specific time in the past. Example: I saw her yesterday. The action happened at a specific time that is yesterday.) And present perfect is used when the past action still has relevance in the present. Even if it happened yesterday, it’s the result that matters now. Example: She has visited her grandma. (It doesn’t matter when, but the action is completed and relevant now.)
