To me, this is the greatest war film ever made because of how realistic it was on D-Day. Many veterans can’t watch it because it triggered their PTSD. These men truly were the Greatest Generation ever! 🇺🇸
why u said that ?? they are great coz they fight for idiots that starts the war ?? is their sacrifice make them great ?? its so sad that many of us belive that dying for fucking politicians or greater case make us hero.... i respect people that sacrifice themself but i wish that we just fight with politicians that lead to this all fucking conflicts
"When We were soldiers" is another great Vietnam War
indeed i just wish it was more historically accurate but the realism is on point
I was just saying the same thing, classic......
Opening scene was amazing, but "The Thin Red Line" is the greatest war movie ever made.
Nobody can make World War II film like this masterpiece!
"When We were soldiers" is another great Vietnam War
@@ichphan Its simply called 'We were soldiers' not 'when'.
@@ichphanWW2, not Vietnam
3:40 “captain if your mother saw you do that she’d be very upset” “I thought you were my mother”
I never can get over that line every time I hear it 😂
My dad laughed out loud in the theater when that happened,I was like 7 so at this part I was kinda scared,I didn’t know much about Ww2 and ntn of the holocaust
Every man on the earth must see this movie😢
I remember hearing noise downstairs (where my parents were watching this movie) when I was 9 and I walked down to be mesmerized by the D-Day scene and watching the rest of the movie. I have always had a fascination with ww2 history and remember that specific moment being very impactful.
This one is definetly the greatest war film ever made!
I don't usually like the whole greatest, best, etc labelling but I would agree with you on this one. I've seen alot of good war films but this one affected me on first watch the way no other war film ever did. And yet I have a friend who won't watch this film based on the fact he rejects the premise as too far fetched ie that a squad would be sent to retrieve one soldier. I feel sorry for him, he has no idea what he's missing and yet he loves Band of Brothers which is pretty much the same thing as this, go figure....
Agreed 👍
I watched this movie at least 10 times so far 😂😂😂😂
@@EddieTheKing369 in one go? I've probably only watched it in full maybe five including when I first saw it as a new release in the cinema when I was 18 in 1998. That's another reason it's particularly memorable for me though cos I rarely see films at the cinema, the last film I saw at the cinema was the matrix reloaded in 2003 and that didn't make half the impact this did.
@@Jeremy-f3s over the past 15 years or so….. great movie 👍 and I am a 75 old shit 🤣🤣🤣
The acting in this Movie was top tier....
One of my favourite war films ever 😊
Mellish dying like that still gets to me to this day 😢😓
Steven Spielberg is without any doubt the Best director of all times.
Nolan might disagree.
i don't know if i've ever hated a movie character more than upham. decades later and i'm still upset that he's one of the few to live through.
Why do you hate him?
War does not determine who is right only who is left.
Upham was a translator or typist or something, basically an admin dude. He wasn’t meant to see combat. Hating is easy when you’re not in that moment. I can’t imagine how terrifying that must have been for him. I don’t think that happened often, but if it did happen those guys deserve credit for not deserting.
I used to as well hate him for thinking he was a coward. But after some time I realized he went through hell, I cannot say I hate him.
Dude ran across the street in the open in front of a panzer tank. Thats pretty brave.@JonnyBong-p9m
My favorite movie of all time!
Jackson's death is the greatest loss to the Allies.😢
This should be mandatory viewing in all high schools. There are so many things to be learned from in this great film.
I agree, kids today take peace and prosperity for granted. It can all be taken in a minute.
This and the liberation of the camp episode of Band of Brothers.
Last word vin diesel said was, family is everything
So technically his last WORD was everything
True heroes are the homies like Wade, trying to make sure their boys are ok.
Censors kill me. Here we have people slaughtered wholesale, but then a single expletive gets bleeped.
Parker on the clock tower : " S..T" ( censored ).
😂😂😂😂
Yes it's stupid but that's cos it's a blanket censor on any expletive in any film, they don't sit down and look at each film's content that's why the irony. And you don't really censor graphic violence anyway, you only put warnings at the starts of films and this isn't the full film it's just clips.
Thank you for the best scene
👍️👍️👍️
No one can make again like this movie. Watching since when I was 20 and I m now 50😊
Same as you were. 🫡
Not possible, it's 26 years since it was released in 1998.
That #2 scene is the best scene in the movie for me. I'm not a solider but seeing a man collapse into death like that is heartbreaking
No it’s not heartbreaking, it was a Nazi
Thank Spielberg etc. for the real view of suffering and sacrifice of the men experienced. War is
Did anyone notice that our sharpshooter was left handed and he had to cross over to reload his rifle which was designed for right handed soldiers, that had to suck .
Wow, I never noticed that. That makes him even more badass.
Jackson put the team on his back the whole movie..
The D-Day scene is one of the best scene movie that ever i wached

6:33 the Germans surrendered quickly once the Americans gained even ground.
Great
Filme absurdamente lindo! Que produção!
This one along with, Fury, Hacksaw Ridge, All quiet on the western front, and full metal jacket are 10/10 War films🗣🗣🗣
Fury != All Quiet on the Western Front. One is Hollywood entertainment, while as the other is an actual description of the horrors of war.
Platoon and The Deer Hunter are also amazing.
full metal jacket, platoon and black hawk down
Most disturbing moment of this movie, 6:05 "Don't shoot! ~ Let'm burn!" Which made 10:12 seem merciful.
Film is the best🎉
Blazing Combat
I wouldn’t adventure out there fellas this sniper got talent!

And yet this movie lost to Shakespeare in Love.
🙄🤨
" Earn this "
Oh my gosh. The anxiety and stress.
The soldiers living this crap.
God help us.
A very special breed. Last great generation.
Upham, the real MVP👍

But I think the opening scene is the best
Apparently the 'vets said it is as close to reality as you can get.
No😂
The snipers name is Jackson
He was cool, he used scripture as his means of survival, until it wasn't, however, he was driven by what he thought was righteous, but he did what was right 😊
Berry pepper was awesome ,
I am deeply in love with his caracter in this movie.
The supreme absolute reality

Ohne Worte dazu 😢😪🤕
This actually happened in Vietnam with Carlos Hathcock, the USMC greatest sniper in Vietnam. He got his equal through the scope.

Org sana kalau bikin film sungguh luar biasa
Anyone notice Jackson take a mercy shot at the guy on fire rather than the other still active man?
6:29" Micky Mouse?????
You have to code in the subtitles when it's the top scene come on man

"Black Hawk Down"
Someone here 2025
Ya
So they had a sniper and decided to send all the guys charging towards the enemy
where do you watch this movie in europe?
We had family who served. For thé greater good. I have nothing but Respect. I wish i could tell them!
Always a coward Army, hiding behind others.
😮trước đây chết đi. Nhớ kiêu mẹ ơi nhé. Trúng đạn rồi khó sống
What was it like from German point of view
Did you observe that when Jackson fires the second time against the pillbox (4:17) the sandbag apparently explodes?
He hit the ammo box
10:13 I never got why they casted a bald guy as an American paratrooper. These were all young, athletic kids in their low twenties. Right?
At 5:41 the bullets explode
