I love this show. It's crazy that UA-cam offers better "television" than TV has to offer. You guys pick awesome stories that are curious and interesting and then add funny commentary from interesting people. Thank you Pablo!
Just taking about the end of Field of Dreams brought me to tears 😢 Pablo, your show is great and I think many of us want the show, Field of Dreams to be made. Let’s not loose faith
Things I found out . My nostalgia blocked my negative memories . And Mike went out of his way to make this show happen . Sad to see it yanked away like that . Cause we all know “If you build it they will come “ great stuff as always !!
Wow. What an episode, and what a lesson for these troubled times when nostalgia is so alluring. I immediately had to go back and look at the bad times of my own nostalgia. Thank you.
Goddamn it, when I think of all the projects that must have been chosen in FOD's stead, it infuriates me. Field of Dreams with more depth beyond the father/son storyline sounds the type of content I'd like to shoot into my veins.
I really love the bit of whiplash I get from listening to Pablo and Mike talk for a while and then it swaps over to The Moecklys and they talk at like, half speed.
I absolutely fucking love taking an edible, ripping a shower and then sitting down quite stoned to watch this show Pablo. Also, Cortes has grown on me immensely. The Minister of Heat Propaganda is a good guy when it’s not basketball season
My favorite movie is Field of Dreams. Hearing Mike's pitch for the series really breaks my heart. Mixing Field of Dreams' with the same reassessments HBO's Watchmen did sounds like we really missed on a great piece of art.
Name an award after this conversation. Pablo continues uncovering truths for both sides of my privileged skin. Deep journalism with old school integrity demonstrated regularly with Mr. Pablo con Gusto
Thanks for chapter info. As a pod listener, sometimes I have to come see certain parts, like the field and farmers. I grew up on a farm in eastern Iowa.
There was no aquarium in the outfield at Marlins Park. There were 2 aquariums behind home plate next to the on deck circles at Marlins Park. There was a big, weird “home run” sculpture behind the home run fence in left center field.
'Just because you feel pain from it's loss, I feel pain from it's existence' Damn. Always hard to play 'what if?' when it comes to projects that never came to fruition, but sounds like we were truly robbed with this one.
Just a thought…dare I say a dream…if the entire infrastructure is already built why not meadowlark shoot on a budget and capitalize on what’s already written and cast?
Idiots were complaining that Shoeless batted L and threw R, but Ray Liotta didn't. Their response was that you're watching a fictional movie and SJJ is dead!
Peacock dropping "Field of Dreams" is no surprise, because Peacock is where shows and projects go to die. Streaming services are contracting because they are "finally" realizing that there are not unlimited hours in the day.
Do you know what I found out? I found out what nostalgia really means and I also found out I hate math if it’s not gonna have a reboot, of Field of dreams😢
I love how they just built a baseball diamond on the farmer couple's land, then the studio decides "naw, we changed our minds". I'm sure they were compensated, but still 🤔
The sports MAGA Stans would have gone bonkers that a classic sports movie "went woke" touching on segregation in that sports history. It would have been an interesting show.
I can't look past how hard the movie is trying to make you feel emotional about ghosts. They're smashing it over your head the entire time and then add sappy music on top? Of course you're getting people to cry their senses are being overloaded with sap all at once. The movie is basically just one buildup to a situation that everyone can relate to, with added sap to make sure people cry. AND ITS ABOUT GHOSTS
I love Mike schur but field of dreams is an absolutely horrible movie lol. Think you need to have a close relationship with your father to care. Without that connection it's terrible
Kevin Coster’s character and his father in the movie did not have a close relationship at all and the point of the last scene is that they both had a do-over / healing of their relationship.
@dorothygale1104 I get that but at least for me if you have no desire to reconnect with your father the movie loses its only punch and it falls flat and you're just left with a bad movie
So all he wanted to do was inject the racial politics of baseball history into a light whimsical fantasy, and on top of that ruin the relationship Ray had with his daughter just so she could be the main character and have something to struggle with.... I'm glad we never got to see this.
Mike Schur makes everything better. Never thought I would care for Field Of Dreams.😢
I dunno he's not Lucy
Still won't watch it

This is one of the best podcasts around, always interesting, very well crafted, encompassing and actual. Great stuff, guys.
This episode was great, but I'm tripping over the odd claymore mine over mikes shoulder mixed in with the baseball stuff 😂
Things I found out . My nostalgia blocked my negative memories . And Mike went out of his way to make this show happen . Sad to see it yanked away like that . Cause we all know “If you build it they will come “ great stuff as always !!
So glad his podcast is on youtube. This is a great one to watch.
Wow. What an episode, and what a lesson for these troubled times when nostalgia is so alluring. I immediately had to go back and look at the bad times of my own nostalgia. Thank you.
you can really see how hurt Mike was by this and jesus that cast would have been an amazing group. bummer.
Goddamn it, when I think of all the projects that must have been chosen in FOD's stead, it infuriates me. Field of Dreams with more depth beyond the father/son storyline sounds the type of content I'd like to shoot into my veins.
Good job getting specifics out there Mike, that way no other production can take any part of the project. I like your style.
I really love the bit of whiplash I get from listening to Pablo and Mike talk for a while and then it swaps over to The Moecklys and they talk at like, half speed.
Really wanted to know what happened and did not disappoint. Glad parts of it got out and shared through this. Thank you!!
I didn’t get Field of Dreams fully until my father passed. I would give anything for another catch with my dad.
I absolutely fucking love taking an edible, ripping a shower and then sitting down quite stoned to watch this show Pablo. Also, Cortes has grown on me immensely. The Minister of Heat Propaganda is a good guy when it’s not basketball season

I live half an hour from Polk City, and I will be finding this field.

Between "Field of Dreams" and "Sandlot" it's always weird when I re-remember that James Earl Jones doesn't even like baseball
Just come to the realization that I, too, have never seen Field of Dreams
Thanks for chapter info. As a pod listener, sometimes I have to come see certain parts, like the field and farmers. I grew up on a farm in eastern Iowa.
We are eventually going to get a Pablo sweater montage. I want to find out how many cardigan sweater things Pablo owns
They’ve all been the same blue one!!
Damn, this show sounds like it would be awesome. Shame we'll probably never see it
the iowa couple is so iowa its unbelievable (compliment)
feels like PTFO is the only Meadowlark youtube offering with audio people working on it . . .
Pablo is there any chance you could get David Samson on to explain why on earth he put a giant Aquarium in the outfield?
There was no aquarium in the outfield at Marlins Park. There were 2 aquariums behind home plate next to the on deck circles at Marlins Park. There was a big, weird “home run” sculpture behind the home run fence in left center field.
@@dorothygale1104 That's correct but it's still an incredibly stupid thing to do.
I need this TV show to be made

Field of Dreams works because it operates like a live action Miyazaki anime
I don't even watch baseball and I want to see this field of dreams show.
Best podcast around.
How can we get this series going!?!?! This is so mf good my god!
Anna Moeckly... I am looking respectfully...
You are my brudder 🫡
Idiots were complaining that Shoeless batted L and threw R, but Ray Liotta didn't.
Their response was that you're watching a fictional movie and SJJ is dead!
Bull Durham and Major League are the greatest baseball flicks of all time.
You've never seen "The Natural"?
The end of the film still gives me chills.
@@asceticblurThe Natural is good but more of a comeback and moral dilemma story than being about life as a ballplayer.

Just a reminder. There were Red Sox fans that protested getting rid of Yawkey way so it certainly wasnt isolated to the owner
45:04 thats dope

"Bull Durham goat" - William Blake
I love how they just built a baseball diamond on the farmer couple's land, then the studio decides "naw, we changed our minds". I'm sure they were compensated, but still 🤔
Blue cardigan... 16/21
Meadowlark has to do a week long remote from the field to start baseball season. Oh please let Samson do a live location from the field
Also, F Sampson because Pablo will never run out of things to find out!
Video should try and drop at the same time as the podcast. But here's your engagement Pablo
Name another movie line that makes you cry that fast, then "Hey Dad, wanna have a catch?" 🤔
I've never cried at any form of media
Pablo why in the intro did your cohort call the guy a coward?
Let's find out
Didn't cry at field of dreams because it wasnt the ghost of his mom being asked to play catch
Curious if Mike owns the rights? Can he shop it elsewhere? Or maybe publish the scripts?
Field of Dreams is a movie about a gas leak in a house in Iowa
Did i miss how much they spent on this field?
Still have no desire to watch this film.
The Pride of The Yankees was the best baseball movie ever made.
The sports MAGA Stans would have gone bonkers that a classic sports movie "went woke" touching on segregation in that sports history.
It would have been an interesting show.

Less Cortes.

You were rooting for the school board to ban Terence Mann’s books too, right?
nolan then schur 🤮- i'll check back in next episode - ps. that Maury episode was epic - pps. Cortes please burn that cardigan
