I think one of the best parts about creating your own journals is how you can evolve with your style, try new things, and are really flexible. I love that you're trying out something new, so interesting to see what you're going to do with it
Absolutely!! When i first started making journals, plain tea dyed papers were my thing, so this takes me back! My journaling style has evolved a lot since then though so it’ll be fun to tackle! ♥️
It is too hard for me to choose which type I like better. I like the different type of pockets and hidden areas and I also like to draw and paint. Honestly all your journals are beautiful so I’d be happy either way.
Me too! I guess this way I can always add in more pockets and hidden areas as I go anyways! I’ll have a journal with me soon, I’m excited to share what I did on the first few pages!
Lovely journals. Leaving pages plain gives the recipient more space to do their own journaling. I can’t wait to see more of your art. The strawberries you painted are very sweet. TYFS from Michigan in the USA! 🇺🇸
I LOVE your hand painted cover. It makes the journal so beautiful and so special. I really love how you added patterned paper to the tea dyed paper. I think it is a beautiful balance. As always you do such beautiful work.
I was finding that often I didn’t want to cover up my favourite papers so this might work better for me! Still includes them but I don’t necessarily have to glue or cover over them 🤞🏼
I am so pleased you are going to be incorporating more drawing and art, and will be so excited to watch how this transpires. I think it will encourage lots of people to be more creative and maybe step outside their comfort zone in this way. Beautiful covers btw, great hand painting 👍🏻
Thank you for the encouragement lovely! I think it will be a fun change. I just started on the first few pages yesterday and had a blast with it! I’ll share a journal with me soon to show my process 🥰
Lovely covers! So one of a kind and definitely a gem to own one of these. I like the pattern papers and the old fairytale pages. Shows how you choose, put together styles and themes together.
So very pretty Johnna. I'm fine with plain journals. Whatever you do is fine with me. Would love one of your journals, but don't think I'm fast enough to get one. Scented shelving paper, what an amazing concept, not to mention smelling so very goo!
The hand painted florals on the covers are beautiful, makes them more special. I personally like a few patterned papers in my own journal, but it depends what youre using it for, as you say. I love tea dyed papers. I do a mix of plain and patterned. Alot of people make art journals and include thicker mixed media paper, for painting, etc.
The plain papers I used and dyed in these is drawing paper and is a lovely weight and quality! I’m thinking i’ll make the others similar but incorporate just a touch more patterns 🥰
These are beautiful! I think the most special thing about them is the hand painting on the covers. I love that you will be doing more art with your journaling. Can't wait to see what you do. I love both of your styles but I have to confess that covering up some of the gorgeous images is really hard for me. I don't feel so torn when working on a plain page. My very favorite thing about your style is that you are memory keeping as well as creating something artful.
Thank you! Yes! I was finding that too often I was feeling a little crippled by covering up my most favourite patterns whenever i came to them, so hopefully this works better for me right now! I can still include those beautiful patterns in other ways in my journal as I go 🥰
Simply stunning! Reminds me of your earliest journals! 🩷 I'd love to see journals that are a combination of pages only made up of your artwork (printed, maybe double sided) and plain papers. These covers are so beautiful!
Nothing armature in your workmanship. Such attention to the detail and thinking outside the box. Beautiful!!!! You are an amazing artist. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Johanna. I love the plain tea-dyed pages in your new journals. I just made a journal for myself with plain coffee-dyed pages. I was thinking it would give the user more flexibility. The hand-painted covers are gorgeous.
beautiful new journal! I am also being inspired by more blank pages in my personal journal compared to patterned papers, so I cannot wait to see how you use it! thank you for sharing! 💛
Oooh these are so beautiful. I think they are in my top 5 favourites of all you ever shared and make me all impatient for Spring and Summer to come to northern Europe 🍓🍓🍓 I really hope I will be in time for the others for once as well:) Do you think you can you give us an embossing tutorial at some point? I've never tried it because it looks a bit difficult and I wouldn't know how to seal it all and not make a big glittery mess 🙈 I just don't craft much.. Oh, an the illustration of the pink one, do you remember which book it came from? It reminds me so much of me and my best friend when we were little. 🥰
Thank you!! The illustration is from ‘a day at the playground’ it’s very sweet! I’ll pop embossing down on my list, maybe i can share some tips some time! I think I learned the basics myself on UA-cam, it’s not too difficult!
you make such pretty journals and covers :) I also decided to challenge myself with my journaling this year, however it is to be more creative with ephemera and pockets and such, so i have a smaller size than last journal and I'm limited to using 1 journal and 8 pages per month and no matter if i fill them up i will jump forward to the next section when a new month starts. Will be interesting to see at the end of the year (there are extra pages at the end if i need them).
Hi sweetheart! You had me at strawberries 😂. Your hand painting is amazing 🤩 I absolutely love your journal! ❤ I love tea dyed paper but I also love your mix of papers. Your journals are always gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the journal with me videos. Hope you are doing well ! Hugs 🤗
They are absolutely lovely,Johanna!❤ I’m making something similar.😊 I think they look more interesting with coffee diy: more space for journaling, for drawing and of course cheaper ☺️! Love,Andrea!
Happy New Year wishes Johanna 🙂 Beautiful journals! Gorgeous covers and I love the all over embossing on the back. Such a special and meaningful selection of charms etc. I also purchased the irresistible liberty print items from Aldi before Christmas with plans to use them for crafting ❤️
They're Charming Johanna!! Truly!! I'm sure they'll be snatched up in record time....keeping my fingers crossed that I'm one of the lucky buyers!!! Beautiful job!!! xo
Beautiful as always!❤ If you don't mind me asking, what children's book is the image from on the one you made for your friend? Your journals are ALWAYS lovely!!💖
I notice you use one big journal at a time. You don’t have seasonal Journals. do you have one full year for each journal? I have my journals now by seasons. (Dec, Jan and Feb) , ( March April and May) , ( June July and August) , ( Sept , Oct and Nov) I thought that would help minimize the amount of Journals I have. I’m not 100% satisfied with this method. I think I need my journals to be MUCH bigger. taller, wider and maybe a 3” binding. I like to decorate pages and use lots of pockets to add in bits and pieces of stuff to keep. I don’t write a lot… but I like to document things.

Wonderful journals! Great cover paintings and I love the plain tea-dyed pages - really inviting.
These are really beautiful 🥰 and I love the painted aspect of it!
I really love this style! I love how you add pattern paper to tea dye paper to extend the length
You're new journal is very pretty! You did a good job on the painting. I'm looking forward to see the art and paintings in this one ❤
Your journals are all so beautiful. I love the look of this collection.
Gorgeous journals. Love the dangle with all the special charms on it. You did a fabulous job painting on the cover. TFS! ❤

I think the beauty in something handmade are the perfectly imperfect imperfections. 😊. This is a gorgeous journal!
Another beauty, Johanna. The hand painting makes them even more special.
Thanks Lori 🥰
Looking forward to seeing how you fill this beautiful journal up❤

The hand painted details are beautiful - love the folksy feel the symmetrical design gives. 😍
Thank you! It was fun to make each one a little different 🥰
Beautiful, I like that the pages are left available for the owner to personalize.🌸

I LOVE the paper in these!! More room for photos and ephemera, or whatever we want 🥰❤️❤️
Also! Will you be doing Etsy or eBay or both for the sale of your new ones? 🥰
Simply stunning! Reminds me of your earliest journals! 🩷 I'd love to see journals that are a combination of pages only made up of your artwork (printed, maybe double sided) and plain papers. These covers are so beautiful!
Yes! Back to basics! Reminds me of my earlier journals too ♥️
Nothing armature in your workmanship. Such attention to the detail and thinking outside the box. Beautiful!!!! You are an amazing artist. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you 🥹♥️
These are so pretty. I’m not fond of the ledger paper but the other pages are sweet.
Hi Johanna. I love the plain tea-dyed pages in your new journals. I just made a journal for myself with plain coffee-dyed pages. I was thinking it would give the user more flexibility. The hand-painted covers are gorgeous.

I thought I recognized the locket! How sweet of you to keep using it and for remembering it came from me! Beautiful line of journals!
Thank you ♥️ I’ve honestly just been hoarding that locket since it came off haha xx
Aww, if I was so blessed to be able to buy one of these, I would love the same types of papers- with all the tea dyed goodness! 💕
what a stunning design, your journals are mind blowing ☺☺☺

Gorgeous journals Johanna. Your hand painting looks great can’t wait to see the others
in love with these journals 🤩cannot wait to see the journal-with-mes with your art-making procsess!!
I can’t wait to share the first few pages!
I like these exactly as you’ve made them!😁👍🏻
I love plain pages because I love to write. I don't do art in my journals.
you make such pretty journals and covers :)

That sounds like fun! I hope your plan works out well for you 🥰 it’s nice to change things up!
It’s beautiful but I do love your usual journal with more patterned papers.
Beautiful and creative..love your handpainted touch❤

They are absolutely lovely,Johanna!❤ I’m making something similar.😊 I think they look more interesting with coffee diy: more space for journaling, for drawing and of course cheaper ☺️! Love,Andrea!
U're sooooooo talented!
Love both journals.
i think you will be successful in prioritizing art because you have linked it with something else- like your journaling. Good goal!
I hope so! It seems like a ‘duh’ moment for me, why didn’t I think of it before?
Happy New Year wishes Johanna 🙂 Beautiful journals! Gorgeous covers and I love the all over embossing on the back. Such a special and meaningful selection of charms etc. I also purchased the irresistible liberty print items from Aldi before Christmas with plans to use them for crafting ❤️
Aren’t they pretty?? So glad I got them!

🥰♥️
Love both.❤ But I am missing your unique way of combining old and new papers. 😊 You always had beautiful scrapbook-papers.
I think i’ll just glue papers in as needed/as I go!
I love these journals! Can you tell me what kind of tea you use to dye the pages? They have a lovely golden tone. ❤
I think I just used Tetley’s! To get a richer colour, try ‘painting’ the paper with the hot tea bag back and front and then dry in the sun 🥰
@@JohannaClough Thank you!
Beautiful as always!
😍 ugh, I’m in LOVE!! TYFS
Hi Johanna, have missed your videos! Gorgeous Journals.
Beautiful journals 💕
I would like to make larger journals as you do. What size paper do you buy?
Their lovely Johanna!!!
I love these so much! They are beautiful. Can I ask, why do people not like tea dyed?
Some people either don’t like the smells or they are worried about the acidity ♥️
@@JohannaCloughoh I see! Thank you for the response! Love your work!
So cool
Beautiful as always!❤ If you don't mind me asking, what children's book is the image from on the one you made for your friend? Your journals are ALWAYS lovely!!💖
It’s from ‘a day at the playground’ 🥰 thank you!! X
