  • Diane Hendricks had a child at age 17, worked as a Playboy Bunny to pay her bills, beat cancer twice and survived the tragic death of her husband before transforming herself into the nation’s most successful businesswoman. She has tripled her net worth in the last five years to more than $12 billion. Next: fixing the country’s schools and infrastructure before we red, white and blow it.
Hendricks believes in the American Dream because she has lived it. A teen mom who once worked as a waitress to pay her bills, she cofounded ABC Supply with her husband, Ken, in 1982 and built it into the nation’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing, siding and windows. After Ken died in 2007, Hendricks continued the business’s rapid expansion, buying rivals and more than doubling its store count to 900. Revenue hit a record $15 billion in 2021. “We’ll do close to $18 billion this year in sales,” Hendricks says. “It’s not a little company anymore. It’s five times what it was when Ken was alive.”

Great interview. I’m impressed with the fact that Mrs. Hendricks mentioned about her secret for success, and she said that is is based on hiring people with integrity. In todays world, if people see that one has integrity, they try to take advantage of that one, and the pain goes to one’s muscles, back and neck. The world needs more people with integrity. Great interview!

I love the concept of a school that makes children decide what they will do to make a living before they graduate high school. I have been advocating for mentors and apprenticeships in even junior high school. They must start early and be prepared to work. Right now they play video games all night long and sleep all day. Thank you so much.

I'm glad Diane saw that gender isn't important here and the question should have been opened up to be advice generally. What an impressive, classy person she is. As a millennial, I have so much respect for this generation and the way they conduct themselves. Younger generations have so much to learn from them.

Hurdles and Pains are the two key parameters that make the person tough in critical situations which have to be conquered in the right manner with the proper framework. Being Knowledgeable is good, getting responses, and feedback, from mentors, and coaches working in a Prestigious Institution is mind-blowing and culturally correct as well. It is just that our level of Confidence, mannerisms, and Body language really matter a lot. Each and every person's Brain is a Sensitive Device. It makes us aware of many things, It is just that what we sow we reap.

Props to her accomplishments but she is not a self-made wealthy individual. Her husband's father was a roofer and Ken Hendrick was wealthy in his own roofing company BEFORE they married. I don't think people realize how massive of an advantage having access to millions of dollars and specific industry connections are.
If you acknowledge unearned wealth & connections as self-made, you better have a good argument for it or you lose all credibility.
