It is nice that you were able to get lances to work with this build! Luckily for me, Crit Element builds fit perfectly with the Dual Blades that I've been working, but I had been worrying that it wouldn't work with other weapons like the lance because crit builds require so many skills to work that it is hard to fit in weapon specific skills.
@@PauwerPlays Just curious, do you think it would be worth switching out those Azure Rathalos Vambraces for something with guard for a lance build? Crit Boost is arguably the least important part of the build unless the lance has built in crit. You could get Guard 2 from Barroth Vambraces, and the Nergi Vambraces are actually perfect for a lance if you're willing to give up your special.
@@Draythix Crit boost scales with crit elem. Without it you go back to the base 25% crit multiplier. You can swap it out but you lose out on some damage. The Nergi vambraces are great but personally i prefer to have my special for lance.
Hey Pauwer, I think bubbly + resuscitate is slightly better than this build without driftsmelts (and a lot better with full smelts) and helps with the perfect dodge play style. Without any smelts, you can run: CPP helm Mizu body Mizu gloves GRath coil Mizu boots This gives WEX 2, bubbly 3, resuscitate 4 (and 2 points of lock-on, so we can drop CPP helm if we need to, more on that below) With a single smelt into WEX or Crit Eye (or using any weapon with innate crit), we can swap the helm to Silver Rath helm for crit element 2, and the numbers become even better for this build compared to the full crit build. I think the playstyle is pretty similar to the evade lance you mention, but it makes perfect dodges way way easier to perform (feels like you have 2-3x as many frames to do the dodge)
Not to mention lance with bubbly dance feels so good to play. I only made a bubbly dance build to mess around with other weapons originally, thinking the uptime would be too low to use it as the main build... but then i tried lance with it. Cant go back, permanent uptime, actually good mobility, easy evade lancing and you can still use the big meaty shield for certain attacks. With no guard though. The attacks you can counter are minimal which is a shame, but perfect guard with standard blocks has still been very useful. Shame my driftsmelting luck is all over the place with my mizu gear. 1 aggressive dodger and 2 offensive guard are the only good skills so far
It's a shame that elemental builds are almost mandatory for certain 9 star monsters like Black Diablos. For example, with Girros' Hammer 10.2 or Nightshade's HBG 10.4 Paulumu I can't defeat them due to lack of time. I think they have too much HP.
The only elemental weapons I make are the ones that need their own r6 material like rajang for thunder, misutzune for water or deviljho for dragon. Silver Rathalos has its material but they are probably super rare and I'm not going to spend the time to make a weapon.
Why not crit elem + elemental attack? Check It, is the most powerfull combination. Example: Silver rath Carnival 2024 Zinogre Kadachi Silver rath Some drifstones for 1 elemental thunder and affinity
elemental attack skills sadly do not scale with crit elem. You still get the flat additional elemental attack on top of crit element but you sacrifice a lot of affinity so you won't crit as much. Crit element 3 with grade 8 weapons output more damage compared to just elemental attack 5 builds. Having high consistent affinity will output more consistent damage than mixing the two together. You can check my damage calculation video in the channel for a clearer breakdown.
@PauwerPlays I mean, with drifstones you can have aff. X5, el.atk x5, el. Crit x3, WEx, etc. I did some test in mhn.quest and the higher value of dmg is for el.crit x3 + el.atk X5 + aff. X5
@vladerwolf could work. Gonna take a lot of rng and still way less affinity. The ideal endgame driftsmelt for crit elem ibomore crit boost since it scales with crit elem. Sadly, it's an event driftstone haha
For fun I mix those 2 play styles together and have fun perfect evading during the dash attack. It’s just fun. Not efficient at all but it’s definitely entertaining
I now just want to play dash lance all day lol. A cool idea, since you speak Japanese you can go over the speed run builds that people are doing over in Japan or other countries. Always cool to see what builds people come up with and everyone has different play styles.
I’ve been experimenting with the S Rath GL with Fire 4 and C. Element 3 and using the Wyrmstake to land huge damage. Kind of a budget build but It’s pretty good too.
Oh boiiii.... he's making a meta build. Some king gonna be mad. On topic: this build is good but not as good as crit ele+bubble resu but again, you use lance, so it's okay 😂
Funny enough, I've been adapting the gyro dash attack a lot more to my playstyle myself just to be able to snipe tails more easily when playing solo. (Which is when the lance shines the most anyway due to not losing aggro) My weapons aren't Grade 10 yet, so going hard on Crit Element most likely isn't essential yet, but I'll keep that in mind for later.
Personally, I would suggest going for Crit Element even without Grade 10 weapons simply because they work for all elemental damage types. The most time consuming thing in the game is creating armor sets, and having an armor set that works for almost everything is kind of amazing.
@@Draythix Of course I'm already working on the set. But I'm a F2P player and I got a job, so I can't possibly get everything I need to Grade 8 in a single week. I'll need for the event to come back before I can do that. Meanwhile, I already got a pretty decent Water Attack 5 set with good Lance skills on top and I'm working on the other elements as well. I'm not gonna just stop playing in my free time just because I can't get THE optimal set right away. You'd have a good point if Critical Element wasn't event-exclusive, but it's just not feasible for me at the moment. My Water Lance is also only 7.2, which is my weakest elemental lance if we exclude Dragon. So soloing Silver Rathalos on higher difficulties is a bit difficult, even if I got a pretty good Water set.
@@LonesomeDevil Sorry, I know that this is a hard to farm monster. I thought about typing in caveats about the monster difficulty or how rare it is in my previous comment, but ended up trying to keep things concise. If it helps at all, its spawn rate is supposed to get boosted this weekend, but I guess fighting it with a 7.2 lance will still be an issue.
Gyro is so good, you can make moves otherwise impossible. once i switched i never wanted to go back even you sadly don’t see the monster very well sometimes. I don’t like most damage armor skills because it makes non optimal damage builds seem bad and you don’t adapt to your playstyle much since you need the optimal damage abilities:(
How powerful is the lance compared to the gunlance and LS? I know the lance gets crapped on and am just curious how it rates by someone who actually uses lance.
I think its more of preference for me. I like weapons with shields, so i use both gunlance and lance. Gunlance is great for big bursts of damage but shells dont crit and does not scale with element. So for crit and element builds, i use lance. Ls is great but i dont like the sheathe counters and helm breaker's high animation commitment

Rathalos weapons are pretty decent fire options. Elemental weapons just have bigger damage in total and elemental skills are easier to manage
