- Seen on C-SPAN2: Senator John McCain (R-AZ) defends Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, against accusations she's part of conspiracy by the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate the top reaches of the U.S. government.
mccain also got booed by his followers in 2008 when he told his supporters that a) obama IS NOT an arab and b) is a decent family man that he happens to run against and have funemental difference on how the country is run.
there is nothing bad with having a different view. but it shows greatness, when you defend your opponent in the face of lies and hatred.

Kudos to Sen. McCain for taking a stand against this latest egregious example of neo-McCarthyism to come out of Capitol Hill. The lawmakers who moved forward with these baseless accusations against Ms. Abedin and her family should be deeply ashamed.

John Boehner says this stuff is "dangerous". I can't agree more. I can go further in saying that most of the rhetoric from the right for the past several years has been dangerous, fact less and hate filled. I commend McCain. However, I'm a little tired of this talk of American Exceptionalism when it comes to the values that McCain endorsed. I'm from Canada. What, we don't have those values? Yes, we do. And we PRACTICE them more thoroughly than does America. Lots of countries like Australia, Germany, England, France and many others have them. They're not exceptional to America anymore. If anything, America is lagging behind.
McCain would be the only repuclian i would ever consider voting for because i know he is truely a good guy at heart, and this proves that. I may not agree with alot of his policies but he has a good heart, and thats hard to find in todays politicians. ESPECIALLY REPUBLICANS.

I just don't know what to make of Sen. McCain. Some times I agree and admire this man because he shows exceptional values and morals and then there are times when he says some crazy extreme right things. I for one will always give Sen. I have no doubt that given the opportunity to re-evaluate this again, he would have a different perspective on her.
