I know people within the civil service and this is very much an example of Hanlon's Razor - 'Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.' Basically the team there were the weren't even the B-team, they were worst of the civil service and they thought they could no damage and oh...
It gave people from the Caribbean work because they came here. They are only small islands so how would their populations have coped with the amount of population now if there is nowhere to emigrate to. Ok point the finger but i expect some were glad they came here in the end. Dont forget there were gangs called the Yardies which were a blot on the Carribean community. Even now in the Caribbean there is a good percentage of the world’s wealthy there probably in the best villas whilst the working class folk live in rather more humble surroundings. Anything to say about that Clive? and you havent done do badly i must say so you took advantage of the opportunities your parents and this country gave you here.
Where does sugar come from? Where does a lot of your coffee come from What in England do you grow that can support this country everything in Britain is imported from other countries
@@lov5334 -how much employment do coffee and sugar plantations actually provide? Wheat barley various vegetable & fruit crops here and then the meat, dairy and fish industries and we do export some items.
Bet the Africans arriving on boats here in the Canaries risking their lives to escape from Senegal (as 99% Black nations as so impoverished, corrupt & violent Black folk are willing to RISK THEIR LIVES to escape to white ones) would LOVE to swap places with privileged over paid diversity hire Clive
Please change the title, inaccurate as it indicates the opposite of what he said. ‘Windrush’ (the arrival of Black Caribbean people) didn’t make him ashamed , the ‘Windrush Scandal’ did!
If Black/ muslim immigration numbers had been limited to 50,000 MAXIMUM imagine what a lovely place Britain would be today. Yes of course not every last one is bad but overall we would be better off with less of them- they have their own indigenous homelands in Africa where its 99% Black- so should white Europeans have theirs.
I must of missed something. Everything I've seen tells me that the Windrush Scandal was 100% bureaucratic ineptitude combined with a sitting home office minister not bothering to understand what they were signing off on. Which later got made into a "scandal" for purely political reasons. Why Clive are you ashamed of the whole country for this? It was a room full of people in Whitehall who cocked this up, not the nation. I do understand where you are coming from and like you, due to similar experiences, I too pity the people who hated me, because while I also was born in the UK, I was the child of a refugee. My childhood was always that of the outsider, the one who could be abused.
The scandal was deporting people from their home, made to feel as though they were not wanted and just ignored. Blaming it all on some minister not being fully on top of their brief is disingenuous. Actually it's worse than that.

So British people were living on a boat across the pond. Now they are trying to stop people coming on a boat.

Clive has been given a great life by the BBC and the UK. Too late to complain now.
