There are reports called CUSIP reports that can prove how much money is generated with each prisoner. We are all deemed "Stock" that is traded with and the bonds of each prisoner being sold. Crime, the legal system, the security services they are All involved in this scheme together with the Treasury.
But privately run/owned prisons is not just a South African phenomenon. It’s done in other countries as well. I think SA has 240 Department of Correctional Service run prisons and 2 privately operated prisons. America has over 1600 prisons and about 411 is privately operated. Google the rest of the world. This is just for perspective, so ultimately the companies that operate these prisons has to be compensated because they are providing a service. Now all the corruption needs to be sorted.
