Guide to Kyoto

Join me for a few days exploring Kyoto in Japan.
We arrived by Shinkansen (the bullet train) from Tokyo for a short break getting a feel for this fascinating city. During the day I visit sites such as the Yasaka Shrine, the Kamagawa River, the Tatsumi Bridge and explore the traditional Gion district and the Teramachi shopping arcade.
I enjoy the famous cherry blossom in bloom and relax in beautiful parks and gardens.
In the evenings I explore the bars of the famous Pontocho Alley, look out for Geisha's in Gion and share my restaurant recommendations.
Its an intriguing city, mixing modern Japanese life with ancient traditions - a wonderful place to explore for a few days and soak up the heritage and culture.
