I live near Charleston WV I was out with my pan a minute ago looking. No one's looked for gold in so long who knows whats under are feet. There's quartz everywhere so who knows.
West Virginia definitely has a good amount of gold and probably in the biggest part of the state also and from what I've been told, it is considered to be sold on the 24 karat scale and is considered to be one of the higher, to highest percentages of good quality gold from anywhere in the lower 48 States including Alaska
I'm from WV but unfortunately I live smack dab in the middle of clay country. I'd have to travel across the state to find anything of valuable. I'd be better off making a trip to Ohio and hunt for some glacier gold.
Really cool video. I grew up in WV and never knew there was gold in them there hills. As kids we made pocket money hunting for Ginseng and selling tanned pelts. I've really gotten into treasure hunting since moving to the NC coast. Used to do alot of beach metal detecting until my minelab finally succumbed to the salt spray. Now I head out to western NC and try and do some prospecting out that way. Anyway great video and I am going to go check out James' channel.
Cheers to James for the dirt and thank you for that great video again and I agree you have some of the best videos out there can't wait for the next one Happy Holidays
Rose Quartz is always a good sign and it has awesome healing properties & the Fossil was a bonus foe sure 0.76 not bad, Rock on West Virginia and you to Shane!
Do you think you could educate us on how a metal detector works and how to use it I'm interested in buying one but unsure if it would be a hobby for me
I really don't know exactly how they work. I know there's VLF and PI machines that work differently. I can make an instructional video on "how to metal detect with a (insert metal detector type here)" video at some point.
Now that was Virginia/wva paydirt. That is what kind off gravel I see in southern va. Pan On All and James good spot man must be near a mine for him to find Mercury I get it also.
Hey Shane, been meaning to ask you something as you do a lot of your pan work outside in the cold weather. Would there be any noticeable difference in panning with cold, warm or even hot water? It might be an interesting experiment, just wondering. Keep the videos, we all enjoy.
funny i just watched this video,of course i am from nh, but two years ago i stayed in gap mills west va for 7 months, ran into old freinds from navy days went stayed for awhile, way in the woods gap mills wv wish i had panned while there! Duane
Great video as always, a note about these blue pans, i bought a few and there too shiny and slippery, i had to lightly sandblast them to make them work.
So I know nothing about prospecting. I am wondering if you are finding that much gold per pan does that mean it's good paying dirt or bad paying dirt ?
I bet you can scrape between the sidewalk cracks in the old parts of beverly hills and find some gold and diamonds. I've done it a lot here in Denver, nobody cares. They might just look at you like you're crazy.
Klesh, brother, are you a fan of steve1989MREInfo? Noticed the “let’s check this out in the pan/ tray, “nice!”” thing a few episodes ago. Pretty awesome stuff man keep it up!
Another awesome video my friend! All of us viewers and subscribers appreciate your hard work to bring us such chill prospecting videos!

Pretty cool. Good to see real paydirt from a normal guy instead of bought paydirt, where the amount of "pay" is closely regulated

Sure
If you calculate the coins in does it add up to 30's?
$0.35 face value. A quarter and a dime.
@@Klesh Huh, I figured it would be worth more since it was silver.
*$0.35 face value, not silver value. Silver value is about 3 bucks? 4 bucks?
