Thanks for posting this. I've played this game many many times and never encountered the computer making a Death Star. Nice to know what would happen if there was a successful sabotage on my DS.

Goddamn. I mean, it had to be within 20 seconds of the hanger if she got out of there that quick. Clever idea putting an apparently extremely vulnerable (fatally vulnerable in fact) part of your super battle station within walking distance of the hanger. Real tactical genius, whoever thought that one up.
This is new to me too-there is a cutscene where the deathstar is destroyed by fighters as well-I have had that happen-makes having a roaming death star near useless-only good for defending coruscant with a shield protecting it-one shot and a capital ship is destroyed-the power. Not a good idea to destroy planets makes you loss the game-everyone hates you to much. There is a scene showing a planet being destroyed to of course
@interlinkknight Pretty much yeah. The computer never even attempts to build one and the only time I did it with my friends was on multiplayer though. Was hilarious though, my friend proclaimed that my Rebel Alliance would be crushed now he had the Death Star, only for me to pull off a successful sabotage mission 10 days later as he forgot to put any troops on it.
I know, the only time I've *ever* seen the empire construct it, was when I used RebEd. Made the DS the only ship they could build, and lowered the cost to 1. When a battle starts with a DS on the opponents side, a rebel says in a surprised tone "Standby alert? Death Star Approaching". And when the DS shoots, he yells "THE DEATH STAR IS FIRING ON US".
did something to overwhelm the reactor or something. That's my best guess given there was a 30 second countdown until it blowing up (I don't think he went from somewhere near the reactor core to the hangar in the edge in less than 30 seconds)...apparently the destruction you see on the outside is delayed and it was a build-up.
If he placed that bomb to middle of the Death Star, how the heck did he run 80km from the middle to his shuttle and flied off in 30 seconds? Lol, fast legs!
Ya you can download this iso online illegally, But ive been playing it since it came out the CPU is fun till you get good but then yo ucan get hamachi and play people online. The gameplay is really pretty in depth and fun especially if you know what you doing. Top notch rts and very under rated.
As a representative of the Empire I have to say that I voted on amassing a large cache of those bombs instead of building a Deathstar. the emperor wanted something with more "pizazz".
The presence of multiple explosions on the Death Star's surface is part of the conspiracy theory that several sabotage teams infiltrated the Death Star in advance of the strike force launching from Yavin.
7+ years later, we now know it's actually canon lol Galen Erso designed it like a powder keg. You just to had to blow any part to trigger the chain reaction. I'm guessing this video is something like his original idea of how they would they do it.
0:04 the lasers came from the left of the screen why did the rebel shoot to the right of the screen? 0:09 Yeah those stormtroopers are so out to kill him... with THEIR BARE HANDS!!!! Why shoot him when you can tackle him football style?
Doesn't seem like the imps were that smart either, considering they ran right past the bomb, and didn't think anything of it when it started blaring sirens.
yeah it's impossible i like to use a trainer to set the death star value set to 1(that way i have a death star in each planet) and the rebels never ever tried to blow up my deathstars
This is so far fetched, with the amount of fail safe systems on it? he blows up one thing and the whole thing goes? come on, the exhaust port, fair enough as it goes to the reactor, but some random tubes? the plans must be VERY flawed in that case...
Lol to add to the gripes about the randomness of this cutscene, why would the bomb be giving off a big wailing sound when it's about to go off? Surely bombs are supposed to be stealthy, you don't want them to alert everyone they're about to go off. Oh but this is like my favorate game of all time so i'm not meaning this in a bad way :D
If you're lucky/unlucky enough you'll see it, if you play as the empire. If you play as the rebels, then no. I've never (in a unmodded game) seen the empire construct a Death Star.
I did everything I could to make them build one, except change the cost and time. Espionage revealed where, sent in a ship to the system and AI cancelled the build.

"Nah, I'm sure it's fine."
I love how the saboteur casually jogs away from the Stormtroopers.
"Was hilarious though, my friend proclaimed that my Rebel Alliance would be crushed now he had the Death Star, only for me to pull off a successful sabotage mission 10 days later as he forgot to put any troops on it."
DOH! LOL!
BammerD One never lives something like that down.
The Force was NOT with him. lol
I love how the Stormtroopers just completely ignore the bomb placed on the pillar there

What the fuck kind of explosives are the Rebellion using?! Anti-matter?

I think the last words of those imperials on the Death Star was "Someone set us up the Bomb."

How are you, Sith Lords?
All your DeathStar are belong to us.
Wow, I've never seen this before because the computer NEVER makes a Death Star!
Rebel saboteurs can teleport! I knew it!
Huh, somehow that was easier than destroying it at the the battle of yavin
Alot seems to suggest that the AI was modeled after Admiral Ozzel. Clumsy and stupid. :-P
This all looks too easy to believe :D It seems to be pointless to have deaths stars for empire at all if they all get blown up so easy ;)
I'm pretty sure this Rebel sets the bomb inside the Death Star scene is non-canon.
No shit Sherlock
It was made by LucasArts 😁😁
@interlinkknight Pretty much yeah. The computer never even attempts to build one and the only time I did it with my friends was on multiplayer though. A simple bomb like that capable of destroying an entire moon-sized space station. What a waste of Imperial resources.
Didn't know the Rebels were contracting Snake Plisskin now apparently

Damn the Imperial Garrison was really lacking. He managed to plant charges on several generators before a patrol came by.
@ATMofAnubis pretty sure it was planted on some part of the reactor or something that would explode but I see your point.

cool this game is begining to sound like empire at war
Does anybody else think the Imperials come off as complete idiots in this scene after not noticing that bomb?
I'd be really pissed to find out a tiny BOMB blew up my deathstar. I mean seriously pissed.
Christ.
@ATMofAnubis yes... what a huge waste of resource... then again they could send ships too pickup the scraps and sell it too get a good amount back
Haha "scratch one death star" ... yes, because we blow them up daily.
Boom!
LOL alternative ending to Episode IV
yeah. They probably placed it close to the hypermatter reactor or something (pipes part of it?)
Empire at War is like this game.
Have you ever seen anything of the gameplay or did you only watch the cutscenes?
something to deal with the reactor which was sabotaged, which then caused a cascade meltdown effect. Explains the whole 20 second countdown....I hope.
@LordTharapita exactly what I was thinking when I heard that lol.
If he placed that bomb to middle of the Death Star, how the heck did he run 80km from the middle to his shuttle and flied off in 30 seconds? Lol, fast legs!
Doo de doo, just gonna stroll right out of here...
What a mini-nuke
And the computer has NEVER disabled my Deathstars... I build about 3 so...
i think i dropped the f bomb in public once and i got into trouble hahahahahahaha
seconded
i would be fuckin pissed if this happened to me. i have lost a deathstar in a trench run because the rebels had too many fighters
lol those imperials shouldn't follow him and try to stop the bomb from blowing up

Pretty sure they don't use Arabic numerals in a galaxy far, far away.
Targeting displays in ANH during the trench-run would indicate otherwise
Arabic numerals are actually from India...
Nitpicking I know...
As a representative of the Empire I have to say that I voted on amassing a large cache of those bombs instead of building a Deathstar. the emperor wanted something with more "pizazz".
one death star?...... they make it sound like there are more then one of them........
Wait, so how did a single small sized bomb blow up the Death Star? There's no way that that pillar is the main reactor
The presence of multiple explosions on the Death Star's surface is part of the conspiracy theory that several sabotage teams infiltrated the Death Star in advance of the strike force launching from Yavin.
@@arielalexandroarnaldo2238 Rebel bombs can't blow up tractor bean pillars!

@@dustinjones7458 Yep. Although I guess reactors being as delicate as glass is pretty consistent across all of Star Wars.
lol,ur soooo right!!!lmao.maybe he used force speed :P and how a little bomb like this can blow up a giant battlestation???XD
that suckker would have to be neuclear, so if you set off a decent sized bomb in the reactor controlls, sure why not ?
0:04 the lasers came from the left of the screen why did the rebel shoot to the right of the screen? 0:09 Yeah those stormtroopers are so out to kill him... with THEIR BARE HANDS!!!! Why shoot him when you can tackle him football style?

@metrocop1000 I bet credits to navy beans that may be an antimatter bomb.
WIN
yeah it's impossible i like to use a trainer to set the death star value set to 1(that way i have a death star in each planet) and the rebels never ever tried to blow up my deathstars
Poweful bomb.
He can do the 100+km dash in 30 seconds :)
cause back then i had only a few games to play like 3 or 4 and all of them were boring ;o)
and actually i didnt care back then.
no defuse kit? ^^
In EaW the Death star 2 can use his superlaser to destroy a Mon-Calamari Cruiser at full health in one shot .
so they had only 2 stormtroopers guard the spot where a tiny bomb could destroy the entire station?
This is so far fetched, with the amount of fail safe systems on it? he blows up one thing and the whole thing goes? come on, the exhaust port, fair enough as it goes to the reactor, but some random tubes? the plans must be VERY flawed in that case...

yeah this game dose sound like its more complex then emipre at war.......
I'm sorry, but the 20 second countdown lol
WE KNOW ALL THIS!!!
but will it blend?
@ATMofAnubis
Well perhabs there were more bombs and they weren't shown to us. :)
blowing up motors?
lol so true
omg thats terrorism!"
I've never seen this cutscene???
@Anthony von Hughes
Oh...
this was impossible to get, the first time i saw it was looking through the games files.
If you're lucky/unlucky enough you'll see it, if you play as the empire. If you play as the rebels, then no. I've never (in a unmodded game) seen the empire construct a Death Star.
Gasoline85 i've seen them do it a few times but still couldn't get this to pop. sometimes i just left it unguarded and still couldnt get it lol.
+Gasoline85 set the game on hard, fast forward 1000 days with out doing anything, then play. you'll see one then
I did everything I could to make them build one, except change the cost and time. Espionage revealed where, sent in a ship to the system and AI cancelled the build.
zomg its in arbaic numerals not aur besh inaccurate!!!111111
Glad to know no one's being an ass about continuity around here.
Haha I forgot. Technically arabic and latin are high galactic buy that ain't common usage
a bit far-fetched considering the Death Star was the size of a small moon, but nice try. : )
