Since the kanjira artist is not Harishankar, I have reuploaded the track by using a pic of TNS-MC-KRM instead.
A masterpiece led by TNS complemented by MC and taken to another level by KRM and the kanjira vidwan. When TNS was in his prime, one was dazzled by his open throat prowess, his brilliant scholarship and his out of the box approach; yet all three firmly contained the strict adherence to tradition. When MC is there, you are guaranteed a treat and KRM is at his blazing best during the thani (1:03:33). If someone knows who the kanjira player is, please let me know. It has to be a veteran not a newcomer who could keep up with the greats!

"Our elders repeatedly expressed their faith in the existence of God. This cannot be
a lie today," says Tyagaraja in this great Keertana. He implores every body to sing with a pious mind.He states that those who believe in existence of Lord will surely find Him - and he
describes method of achieving it.
O Lord well-praised by this tyAgarAja! Can the words of wise, who
declared that ‘You surely exist for those who believe in Your existence’, become
untrue now? Then, why is it that You would not come near me, in whom there
exists such a desire to behold Your charming face shining with mirror like
cheeks? You are such a merciful Lord who nourishes those devotees who - by
foregoing sleep, attuned nicely to tambura, with a pure mind and along with fine svara - chant
Your names without wavering from their vow. Can the words of wise, who declared
that ‘You surely exist for those who believe in Your existence’, become untrue
now?

Rejecting sleep, devotees hold the tambura prettily and regularly sing well, with pure
mind. You take care of them with all kindness. Tyagaraja worships you.
Gist :-
For the ones who believe "there is," the assurance
given by the wise that "there is," will that assurance be falsified
now ? How unfortunate that the golden words of the great men have been belied?
Have they not averred that God does exist for those who steadfastly repose
faith in Him! I am here yearning to see your mirror-cheeked charming face. Why
do you not bother to come near me? Abandoning sleep, thus being awake, holding
nicely the tambura to maintain one’s basic drone, being guileness, devoid of
any mental reservation, enabling one to grasp as it is what comes in front with
aesthetic sense, with the intention of being melodious - such devotees who sing
your praises, in the prescribed path, are you not the Protector of the ones who
believe "there is?"
Todi or Hanumatodi, more popularly known as Todi, It is the 8th melakarta rāgam (parent scale) in the 72 melakarta rāgam system.
This is sung very often in concerts. It is known to be a difficult rāgam to
perform in owing to its complexity in prayoga(phrases
of notes and intonation). It is called Janatodi in Muthuswami Dikshitar school of Carnatic music (A regal raga that one very often hears in kutcheris is Todi. Todi is the pride of our system of music, the imposing gamakas, stunning brighas all dazzle with all their
glory in Thodi. When delivered well, a Thodi piece can lift any concert to
sublime heights. The notes present in this raga are Sadja, Suddha Rishabha,
Sadharana Gandhara, Suddha Madhyama, Pancama, Suddha Dhaivata, and Kaisiki Nishada.
Todi evokes karuna and bhakthi rasa-s. The melakarta name for this scale is
Hanumathodi. Bhairavi Thaat in Hindustani is the Carnatic Thodi scale. Carnatic compositions abound in this fertile raga and Thyagaraja’s contribution to this raga is invaluable.
Thyagaraja’s ‘Kaddanuvariki’, ‘Koluvamaragadha’, ‘Raju Vedala’, and
‘Dasarathi’, among others are glorious compositions while Dikshitar’s ‘Sri
Krishnam Bhaja’, ‘Dakshayani’ and ‘Kamalambike’ are pillars of strength. Shyama
Sastri uses the pleading quality in this raga to his advantage in compositions
like ‘Raave himagiri’ and ‘Ninne Nammi’. Tamil compositions in this raga
include ‘Karthikeya’ and ‘Thamadam en swami’ of Papanasam Sivan, timeless in
their passionate lyrical appeal. Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi can be sung in Thodi with
great aplomb owing to the numerous possibilities its notes hold.
Sir, what a fantastic write-up. This is my favorite krithi in Thodi. I don't know how many times I have heard it whether if it's by TNS, Hyderabad Brothers, Alathur Srinivasa Iyer, Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana, etc but the love for Sri Rama has never decreased when I listen to it. Each sahitya line should be treasured as it's pure saranagathi.
TNS has made this a memorable listening experience for all and the presence of MC, KRM and VN take it to a godly level.

It is actually a reupload, sir. The reason is that Harishankar is not on kanjira and I accidentally put his pic in the previous upload thinking it was him. So I have deleted the previous one and re-uploaded it with only TNS-MC-KRM.
