A live outdoor recording played with all the Heart and Soul of a studio recording with love and joy . Richard Strauss would be pleased . The only other recording that may excel this is an LP by the late great Joseph Krips . Thank you for keeping Der Rosenkavalier Suite Alive ! Bravo to the Maestro and his Frankfurt orchestra . Its like being at the old Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra all over again under Carmine Dragon .

Thanks Bjorn. I have a great love of classical music, and especially the orchestras that perform it, in Germany and all over Europe. The Berlin Phil stands out, but there are many more.
Tony Jennings You are absolutely right, the Berlin Philharmonic stands out, but this Frankfurt-orchestra here is quite good as well.
I doubt if any orchestras in Germany could be viewed as sub standard, indeed right throughout Europe this is the case. I watched the Pittsburgh Symphony perform in 2008. Very good but not outstanding.
Could be tighter. Listen to Kleiber and then you hear the perfect Rosenkavalier
I performed Der Rosenkavalier with Carlos Kleiber at the Metropolitan Opera. It was pure magic for 4 1/2 hours every performance. Best musical experience of my life.
