Depends what you consider recent, since BA does lowkey lewd lolis lol. Definitely considering this game because of the lolis though, I'mma be honest. The only thing holding me back is the lack of relationship stories which in my opinion are the best feature to ever be introduced into gachas, to the point where it's a huge letdown for me when a gacha doesn't have one. I started playing Nikke and Blue Archive because of the bond stories. Just adds a lot to the characters that you can't convey in the main story, and to me characters are the main reason I play gachas.

The good thing about this game is it's very f2p friendly unlike any other gacha I've played.
In brown dust 2 you could pull for every other or 3rd banner if you want and get the character, in comparison I'll give Nikke as an example since I played it a long time and it's a game praised for being generous, I played on release because I thought it was hilarious after seeing all the adverts of butts, started playing as a joke but got invested with the story, wanted to pull for Modernia not knowing if she'd come out but assuming she would so I saved up and paid for every cost efficient method to get more pulls and played every day, I spent a few pulls for helm (the first banner) but everything else was saved for Modernia, when she came out I don't remember how many pulls I made, I remember it was so bad I got bored pulling didn't even use up all the currency I had before I quit the game, after over 1000 pulls getting 1 copy made me mad rather than happy. I remember before I started I wanted to max her out thinking I had enough, a silly idea I guess. After I got bored of pulling and had one copy I tried her out and thought her character looked extremely stiff and silly and realized over a years worth of effort this wasn't worth it at all, not even for a new spicy gacha game so I quit for a while and didn't log in again until Redhood came out who I then used all my golden tickets on because she looked cool, I can't say it's all bad though, nikke taught me a 1 year lesson not to spend money on a gacha game.
And this is for nikke a "generous" game, there are games where people praise the game for the game giving out one free pull, and every alternate character outfit costs the same price as a new game, actually insane.
Brown dust 2 gives free pulls for every banner every day and throws tickets for pulls at you and the dailies are super quick and easy, the alternate outfits aren't paid only content and the characters that might be bad that you like could become strong in the future with the release of a new outfit so you don't entirely feel like it's a waste to unlock any other character like most other games not to mention unlocking characters makes you stronger in general and making every character you get stronger actually makes you stronger for the 'Last Night' boss where there are 3 or 5 characters worth having and every other character on release might as well not exist.
My only complaint with brown dust 2 is the game doesn't explain things clearly and are no content creators that give concise guides on how to do specific things like there are for other games so you have to learn the hard way so I'm glad to hear you say you'll be making some guides.
I also I didn't even realize there was a quick way to use up all my cooked rice at once through the pvp mirror wars arena so if I could be bothered I would instead leave the game open to auto the slimes for example with the right setup to 1shot everything or I'll come back to every character dead, my poor phone.
TLDR: Brown dust 2 is very f2p friendly and made every other gacha feel like a chore where progression moves slower than a snail.

i used to play revived witch and octopath traveler and also browndust II, they were good games, great designs nice ladies incredible Designs and/or Live2D backgrounds, but sadly Chibi Units in-Game, and the more i played those games the more i realized i wanted to play games whose characters are the same in my lobby as in the game.
For example Counterside, NIKKE, Snowbreak, GirlsFrontiline 2, etc, those games have amazings units that look the same during combat and outside of combat and in the background and everywhere in the game u get to enjoy the full art of ur ladies during combat IN-game during actual gameplay and thats awesome.
But i can imagine there must be a niche audience who enjoy Chibi-Anime Units and like to play with Chibis, sadly i was not their targeted audience and left, but it was fun, but i couldnt stay more, i needed more but it was fun while it lasted.
They recently did a collab with Mushoku Tensei and added some very cute and funny 😭 characters (Roxy and Eris)
The art is good, but the gacha scene is so over saturated with high quality games atm. With each gacha potentially costing so much money to fully enjoy, it seems like it'll be difficult to find time for a middle of the road gacha like Brown Dust 2. It has a unique and attractive art style, but is the game play novel? Does it have amazing music, or a riveting story? Triple A cutscenes? Etc etc.
It's good for what it is imo. You can reach a certain point where dailies don't take too much time to complete. If playing multiple gacha, can easily slot this as a side game. Atm this is the only gacha game im playing coz too much gacha fog up my brain.
hope the loli get more fanservices like the booba and school uniform fans.
I like all of the characters though, heavily dressed but wet who call a comet also attractive.
honestly. i took a month or so to finalise my thoughts as well and came to the conclusion this is the most fun gatcha ive played so far and i have played a lot. it is also the second fairest with only azurlane beeing fairer on pulls. generally i highly recommend this game too
I highly disagree on the manually/ autoplay boring statement at 5:13 into the video because a lot of times within the game you are forced to actually think through your turns, especially in character stories which you can select to play from the hubscreen at the bottom right in pvp, or later parts of the story. even a normal playthrough becomes very challenging if you dont pick your fights correctly and i think this is what makes the game even better. plus the evil castle is split into magical and physical sections which sort of encourages you to play both at a later state.

QoL increased a lot.
It was shitshow at launch, a lot of things were just straight up bad, or just stupid.
But devs are adding more and more QoL stuff every patch I think (I didn't played for some time)

I stared playing this a few days ago. Got both Eris and Roxy costumes after sacrificing my diamonds stash... Not my proudest moment.
Also, still waiting for Refi to arrive in the guild and for her wedding costume to come back. I should've started playing when her wedding costume was available....
I started playing this game two months ago but haven't played it much recently. The game's fanservice is one of the best I've seen (better than NIKKE imo which is my current main gacha). But the pull rates have been horrendous for me.. I genuinely think I am just unlucky though. Like you said, the game does a horrible job explaining things to you and the only guides on youtube are like up to 1hr long videos.. Call me lazy but I just don't have time to invest. Not a fan of the loli characters either and the game seems to be releasing quite a few recently. But the fan service, I won't lie, is probably one of the best in gacha games. The game's performance is incredibly good as well.

Been playing this game for awhile not, not since launch sadly as I have missed alot but been awhile now. Couple quick notes. Gear stats Crit damage is king but maxes as 700% so for min max no higher than 700% because its wasted. Then it goes Flat stats are better than % on most characters. There are exceptions like Justia can't crit and Anastasia wants mostly Atk %. The bond system is not the same as the costume upgrade system (which is called Potential Liberation). The bond is which of the characters costumes that character is bonded to. The character will only get the stats from the bonded costume. For example Justia has like 5 costumes. If you max out Blood Glutton costume and White Reaper costume both skills will stay modified no matter which one is bonded to, however you will only get the sub stats from the bonded costume. For example Glutton costume gives 62.40% HP 14.20% Atk 30% Light dmg when bonded but won't get the 80 Atk 17% HP 8.4% Mag Resist from Reaper costume. Magic teams have been on the weaker side since I started mostly because of how easy it is to get physical team going. For example Arines (3 star) is great buffer for new players for Physical teams. Magic only recently got an equivalent and its a 4 star named Elpis. They devs have mentioned they want to give more love to magic teams. Devs also do quality of life updates quite often. Love the game only thing I dislike is limited costumes (not talking about the collab there is actually limited normal costumes: Pool Party Justia, Pool Party Scheherazde, Stray Cat Rou, Nightmare Bunny Eclipse, Masquerade Bunny Celia). Limited also can't be upgraded with Golden threads costume enhancement so its summon upgrades only. Its also likely that the Anniversary update the characters will be limited as well.
My brother you can just get Fred from pub in first game chapter and he has an exact same ability skill as Layla 4:30

It's poorly written, the development isn't there, the character design is mediocre, Rudeus is by far the worst protagonist I've ever seen

You're in the small minority who dislikes Mushoku as a whole. While I agree that Rudeus is the worst protag the other characters are decent for a isekai. There is development from when I watched the anime so not sure how you think it's not but to each their own

Maybe he will evolve, but at least in the opening chapters, the entire writing of this show simply ignores the fact that Rudeus is a literal criminal. It seems that the author inserted himself into Rudeus and did not criticized himself
