Riding the NEW TRIUMPH TIGER 1200 RALLY PRO OFFROAD!

- Hi Folks!
I was invited to ride at Triumph's Adventure Riding Experience in South Wales!
I tell you what, riding off-road challenge me as much mentally as it does physically.
I often battle with a voice in my head that constantly tells me I'm rubbish and why do I bother. Life is an internal struggle when you are a perfectionist that is never perfect!
So as you can see, I dropped the bikes... LOTS. But you know what, luckily I was surrounded by amazing people who just kept reminding me that it's about having fun and taking part and if you drop it... SO WHAT! Who cares! Triumph Adventure Riding Experience staff certainly don't as they know it is inevitable. They do care that you aren't harmed though which is nice!!
I really did push myself and I'm proud of what I achieved that day.
It is a school that I would highly recommend for growing your skills in ways you didn't think possible!
If you are interested in inquiring further about this day, you can do so here:

Anyway, enough rambling - I just hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for watching...

Absolutely killing it Kate! Can do nothing but admire your sheer determination and "have a go" attitude. Massively inspiring!
Thanks Nikki! I appreciate your comment 😫🧡
Kate, you are absolutely fearless! New skill set, new terrain, strange bike, And in the wet. Any one of those conditions would intimidate any rider, and you charged right in on all of them. Watched the whole video smiling ear to ear.🥹And you didn’t scratch the van!😎 Absolute Boss!!!🤘🏻
Haha almost!!! Almost scratched it 😬 aww thanks Tom! Appreciate all your kind words 🙏
Huge respect! That can be so exhausting and you kept going and improving.
Love that you don't try to hide any of what you feel or experience. Again, huge respect
Oh James, at one point I thought... nooo way, I can't do another lap.. maybe just one more! And everything I thought that... the instructor stopped haha. My frustration with myself is embarrassing but I am who I am I guess (that has its pros and cons! 😅)
@@UsernameKate plenty of pros from what I have seen so far. When you dropped the bike the second time even knocking over another bike I thought well this is over. You proved me wrong and kept going so I found myself saying hell yes! Get it girl!
You honestly listen to instruction and give it as much as you can to implement what you learn. Much humility there and that's a good thing, a very good thing. And you push through fear, that rocks.
Awesome experience lucky you 👍🏼✌🏼
Not a bike for O.A.P's with short legs or dainty ladies, clearly. I laughed out loud when you took two bikes out. Much admiration for you taking on the 1200 beast.
Well done Kate. Surprise your instructor never started by telling everyone to keep safe distant while off-roading. 1st rule is never follow other riders or stopping your heavy bike too close to each other.
Thank you Yak!
You done brilliant Kate in Wales great determination I know you don't like riding in mud well done👍😄 fantastic videos
Thanks Andrew!! 😊
He Kate, you did great!!. You must have learned a lot, great video.
Could barely watch this - in that very place, and in similar mud in 2019, I fell off a GS (whilst training): multiple rib fractures, 6 months to get over it and developed a deep vein thrombosis of the shoulder along the way - for which I'm still being treated. Oh well, at 65 it's led me to cross learning to hang glide off the bucket list ha ha. You did brilliant!
Oh noooo 😫😫😫 sounds so painful! I'm sorry you had to (and still have to!) Go through that pain!
Kate going the extra mile in durability testing for us 😉. Only joking of course. Great effort to go outside your comfort zone and not give up 👍💪 you were awesome !
gotta make sure the quality control is done hahaha and thank you!!!
Well done Kate. Like to see the missenden flyer do that. we're watching Andy. Thanks for the great videos Kate
Ahhh he'd boss it I'm sure!!
Much respect for going outside your comfort zone 👍🏼that looked intimidating and fun at the same time. Where I am on the biking journey there’s no way I’d do that at the moment, so you go girl 😀👍🏼
It's amazing the confidence you can find when you don't have to foot the repair bill 😅
Loved your gaining confidence in such atrocious conditions. Wicked viewing reminded me of completing in trials completion's riding a Triumph cub aged 16, brilliant times, now 71 but riding on tarmac, biking gives you a zest for life. Well done Kate!
Thank you Peter 😄
Nice one Kate and fair play for giving it ago and keeping going even though you fell off - Respect
Thanks Andrew!
Very well done Kate. You need to come back and do it again.
Mate, you are a total legend. Absolutely awesome job ✊️
Haha thank you! 🤣
Great job! You did really well with the rider in front of you going too slow.
Kate, monster awesomeness! You’re braver than most!!
I just rewatched this with my husband and we'd make goggle box look tame. Cheering you all on and 'ooohs' and OMG's.... fantastic.
A year late, but what a gem! Such a surprisingly educational and entertaining video. Good job!
I really admire your humility, tenacity & light-heartedness in the face of adversity. Great attitude!
Love the bike and will definitely consider this course should I settle on an adventurer.
Well done you 👍. You didn’t let those few early mishaps get the better of you or give up. Just pushed on despite it looking sh@t scary and I saw your control and confidence improve loads as the day went on. You do need a bath now though 😜
It was terrifying in parts. But good terrifying. Terrifying where... you complete something scary and feel on a high all day 😄
Superb! See a challenge. Take on the challenge. Smash the challenge. You really are a boss.
Fun for all in the mud.
I used to ride dirtbikes when I was in high school and remember how tired I was at the end of the day - I imagine it can't be any easier on something that's 3x as heavy haha. Awesome job! Looks like it was a hell of a fun day, drops and all.
It was a super fun day! I really enjoyed myself!! 😄
I love the don't panic it's not yours all rider's now that feeling
Well done Kate.
You did great Kate and the girls, you are much better than me!!!
Fearless determined kate. Keep up the good work.
Awesome, was there at the start of June on the 900 Tiger and was lucky with the weather 🌦️
Hi Kate big hugs you need it, looks like all of you went through the wars, just shows us how hard those adventure bike trips are. Great upload another choice to the big GS👍👍👍
Brilliant, what a fantastic day, I tried to get on the previous Tiger 1200 and popped my hip as I swung my leg over, you have never seen the look of shear panic of the young lady salesperson as she heard it go.
Oh noooo 😫 sounds painful!!
Well done Kate. Love the way you just get back up and keep going.. your amazing 👍
Thanks Tom. It helps when you have amazing people around you 😄
Full of admiration for your pluck 😉👏👏👏👏👏👏 well controlled even when you didn't have it too. Excellent point of views and the edit made complete sense. Absolutely astonishing 🤗👏👏👏
Thanks so much Iain 😁😁
Bloody hell! I freak out when there is a bit of gravel on the road when riding a monkey bike 😂. You did amazing riding that heavy tall bike in the mud.
Haha I think everyone craps themselves when there is gravel on the road! 🤣😫
Respect! You are awsome.
Cheers Nisse! 🍻
R E E E S P E C T! Good for you Kate, that looked awesome. No shame in dropping the bike, the only way to learn to ride is fall off a few times, and then get back up and do it again.
Cheers TDog!! 🍻
uuuu Kate super complicated but this one is very good 👌👍
Thanks Chema!!
Bless you Kate I feel your frustration. But you are having a go. 👍
Haha I will beat myself up at the drop of a hat unfortunately! I still had great fun!! 😊
Bigger balls than me k8 😳 gr8 vlog well done for keep going & getting better as the day went on respect.
Thanks Stevie! 😊
It’s a beast of a bike and tall too. You did a great job!
Well well, Kate s day out, embrace yourself people😄 after a 5 hour ride, in pouring rain there she goes, a little bit of “bike bowling” 🤣 but you nailed it at 24:00 and 25:00 deep deep respect ✊ big thumbs 👍👍🇳🇱 have a great weekend I m gonna grab a beer to celebrate your victory
Haha thank-you! You are too kind. And bike bowling... 🎳 bloody hell there was no stopping it!!!! 🤣
wow that looked like so much fun, even if slightly out of your comfort zone at times. You did really well!!
it really was a brilliant day
Well done Kate! I'm tired just watching!
Well done Kate your confidence grew and grew as the day went on. Brilliant 🤩
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice to share it. It showed, these type of bikes dont suitable to short and light ppl on offroad.
Now i know how you love to get those action shots in but taking two bikes out in one go is outstanding, seriously though glad you didn't injure yourself and👍for a great video, awful weather but added to some brilliant shots.
Haha I'm a liability
Nice one Kate, big beasts, glad I got the 900GT and I'll stay on road, ha!
muito bom , mandou super bem
Brilliant video Kate. Honest as ever! Clearly frustrated but good to see you as candid as ever! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Mike! 😊😊😊
You should be so proud of yourself! You killed it. Well done 👍🏻
Thanks Robert! I gave it my best shot!
Brilliant! I get your frustrations though, it’s not easy and in particular in those conditions. We went to Sweet Lamb Biking last week and no where as bad as those conditions and I was on a smaller bike. Never done it before and I screamed like you but bloody loved it. Great skills to handle the bike 👍🏻
It is a good feeling isn't it!! Even if it's terrifying at times LOL
Well that looked fun and challenging. Met an owner of the Tiger Rally, took some pics and had a good chinwag.
Def an amazing bike. One I would buy in a few years!
Excellent, Well done Kate!!!
Thanks Peter!
Fab vid! I just wish motorcycle manufacturers would make more lower bikes for us shorter folk. There is no way I would’ve gone to do what you did, even if they’d of said they’d give me a brand new bike after it, the fear of not touching the floor would’ve been too much. So I take my hat off to you for doing it!
Thanks Elaine! 😊
Hi there lovely glimpses of the adventure you experienced 🙌🙌…how’s the RP on road specially in corners with a 21 inch front ?Safe miles✌️
Loving this! Well done Kate! I really really want to try one of these days, look amazing
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
That looks absolutely brilliant. I would love to do that on a motorbike off road 👍
You did great !
Cheers Mark!
What a privilege that Triumph asked you to go! And I say you didn't give up. Hat's off to you. And it surly looks like an experience.
Thanks Robert! 😊
Much respect to you Kate, for showing your experience on the new Triumph tiger a big bike off road , especially if you have never done off road before. It’s quite remarkable you tried it and persevered with it and could see progress towards the end. I ts also good PR for Triumph, showing even non experienced riders vertically challenged still could manage the coarse. You did yourself proud , and was a great insight into going on a off road coarse. My first off road experience was on a 650 triumph scrambler bike , I’m 6: 2 ,was falling off also and very tense. You did well ❤️🏍🇸🇪🙏
Thanks Philip!
Brilliant Kate, fair play to you, I couldn't do what you just did 👍🍺
I bet you could John! 💪
Ooooww Kate, love those little sounds you make when it gets rough 😜👍🏻
UA-cam is right: its CC algorithm identifies the sound of the engines as “[Music]” 😀
That looks like one exhausting, fun, difficult and exhilarating day.
That was cool, Looked like you had a great time. Great vid again Kate. Thank you for taking us along. (try a little polish on the cameralens in the rain, it works great on the helmetvisor)
Thanks Leif! 😊
This was an excellent vid Kate, this is why they say 'light is right' for off road riding you did a great job those on those behemoths! I would try some trials riding for slow speed and clutch control as is really is a great base, it helped me when I started off roading👍
I have a trials bike vlog going live shortly. Really enjoyed trials biking, so much so - I think I'll invest in one over winter!
Great that will be entertaining! I will look out for that one, I enjoyed my trials bike had a beta rev 3 250 good beginners bike, you can pick them up quite cheap too.
That's really impressive, I have never ridden such a huge bike, specially in wet dirt, and it looks pretty intimidating. Congratulations for your skills and video !
Well done Kate ! Heart like a lion. Personally think that these big Triumphs were meant for people of 6’ 4” and built like brick outhouses. Much rather the Itchy Boots approach. Nice wee light Honda . 👍
Yea, it's clearly not a practical bike for me personally to offroad but damn I had fun! Haha
Good on ya Lass. !!!
Kate awesome job especially for a person that’s much more confident on the road than trail and riding in less than ideal conditions. I know you’ve said you don’t like the lighter bikes but I wonder if they might be more or less of a confidence builder off road.
Nooo, I worked it out. I like the familiarity of a big road bike and I like the planted feel of them. I mean... a lighter bike is probably the right step for most... I'm just a freak of nature and it works backwards for me haha. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words
Well done, Kate. You were, definitely, much better by the end of the day. A big challenge for you being so petite and a big bike in the wet ( very wet ) I did an off road course weekend at Sweetlamb a couple of years ago. They told us to use our new skills or lose them. They were right. I haven't done any off road since and my confidence has, definitely, waned. Get out there on another off road course ASAP and, maybe get yourself a dirt bike so you can get a bit of practice with your boyfriend. I wish I'd kept up the dirt bike practice. Now. I'll have to do another course.
You know what Geoff, I think I'll go down the trials bike route as a personal bike. But no, it's soooo true. I don't use it for a week and I've 'lost' it haha!
Thanks for this! It's helped me make my mind up about buying the big 1200. As a newbie off roader I think I'll stick with the smaller 900 or KTM 890r. Love the channel btw 😍
Not a bad decision! 😊
Good going Kate. That's a heavy, tall bike for someone off your size. I thought you did really well 👏.
Thanks Bladerunner! 😊
Great video well done you
Thanks Karl!
You are the boss. Great job
Cheers Joey !
Wow what a video, was glued to it thank you. Well done you for giving that a go, some of it was pretty intense. You did so well in the end on those hills amazing.
Thanks John! Glad you liked the vlog!
Looked like another good day, may see horrible with it raining but it makes riding bikes like that more fun :)
Commentators curse has been replaced by Kates curse "such a boss look at her" then she drops it lol with all these training days you will be showing mike how to ride soon ;)
love you playing dominos with the bikes .. drop yours so might as well take out the one you stop next to but at least they were all supportive.
Think Triumph had a few repairs to do on those bikes at the end of the day but at least you all had a good laugh.
Oh and good to see a women riding a big bike with room for a mighty big basket.
Haha I need to put a request in that they all get baskets so can be more female friendly 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well Kate,
I guess we learned one thing! Those bike are heavy!!!
One of your best videos yet Kate and it takes some balls on a 1200. 👏👏👏 May have ago myself but on a 900 mind 🤣🤣🤣
Get it done 🤣 you'd boss it!
@@UsernameKate yes I've put it on my Xmas wish list along with a new bike 🤣
Don’t worry Kate, our Lord fell 3 times. You did well. Great experience. Not easy to handle a big bike like that in those conditions.
Thanks Colman 😁
That looked fucking epic! Bike looks like the real deal too.
Nice bike
Bloody Hell Kate. 10 mins in and (even though I knew it already) you've more balls than me. I ride a 2019 1200 but no way would I do that. Fantastic!!
time for an upgrade Steve? come and see me at Youles :-)
@@edwelld Hiya Dave Just got the boot off from blowin my achilles on Remembrance Sunday. Will rebook service next week. Got a test ride booked for August 😁 STiILL not got the balls to do that no matter which version I go for 🤣🤣
Oh and Triumph need to make Kate an ambassador !!
@@stevepecket2535 not something I’d try on my own bike that’s for sure! I had a day at the experience centre last summer. Great value day out but very humbling 🙈
Wow looks a brilliant day would love to get out and do that one day.
Really wet nightmare, but I think you did excellent on a bike that isn’t fitted for you. You should not worry about the bike. Drops and falls are expected in these conditions. It’s amazing to see you push yourself and also those other riders did so to. Maybe one day I’ll try this myself, kinda go back to my younger days of riding in the woods on moped.
Be safe like that and have fun 👍🏼 Thanks for sharing your experience.
Moped riding in the woods sound fun! 😁
Good video thanks, gives you a good feeling. You have done well 👏
Thanks Ken!
looks a great day.well done
Thanks 😊
Well done there, you did really well. These things are not mean for a less experienced rider or someone that may be vertically challenged, I learnt that recently. I would love one of these Shire Horses, but they're just not designed with me in mind. Shame.
Well done for giving this a go, this particular Triumph Tiger 1200 video went down extremely well 👍🙃 if you'll pardon the pun 😂 I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Charlie Boredman getting a good drenching. I'm bored to tears with every UA-cam video starting with his "I'd like to introduce you to Quadlock" So glad he got the chance to try it out in the heavy rain, I hope he also tried it out horizontally a few times.
🤣🤣🤣
More power to you for getting in the deep end. 👏👏👏
Thanks Two Sticks!
good fun
Super fun!
Great vlog as always Kate looking forward to seeing your next one..
Thanks Stevie!!
@@UsernameKate no worries lovely looking forward to seeing your next vlog I saw r1 Liz's last vlog last week loo forward to seeing a ride out soon with r1 Liz in your leathers and swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely I'm watching saints play tonight enjoy the nice weather greetings from st Helens Merseyside..😊
Great stuff 👏...great determination 👏 👍 Cheers, Steve
Thanks Steve 😊❤️
That does look like good fun, I think I need to look into something like that, trouble I'd have is they wont have boots in my size (uk 15)
UK 15?!?! 😱 I feel for you, must be a nightmare to get shoes!
@@UsernameKate normal shoes like trainers are fine, bike boots are difficult to find, I've got a pair of Alpinestars in a eu50 (uk15) that I found at Motorcycle Live years ago
That looked like really good fun Kate. I would have thought that by now you would be fully o,fait with off roading having ridden the mighty sinnis 125 with Mike! 🤣. The main thing to remember is that it ISN'T YOUR BIKE! So it doesn't matter about dropping it. 👍.
Still feel cruel haha
As for cruel. How about this? At the moment I'm in Tavullia! Staying at an amazing b&b 100 meters from Mr Rossi,s restaurant. If you ever get down this way check out AnticaFonte, B&B.
You keep safe and enjoy yourself. 😉.
Good work Kate! Absolutely bossing it! Big heavy bike and offroad at that! You did brilliant at it and you've made me jealous and want to go back to Triumphs Adv training to "Test" the 1200 :D
Haha thanks!! 😊
Well done Kate. Shame triumph aren't doing a lowered chassis model for us shorter people Seeing that they are targeting bmw massively with this bike. Again great job
Your my hero !!!!!!!
❤️❤️
Well done took some bottle doing that 👍, that’s the problem with big adventure bikes it takes 2 people to pick them up should the worst happen & they aren’t getting any lighter ☹️
Thanks Grizzly! 😊
Good job🤓😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
Cheers John!
WOW, baptism of fire with it being so wet as well as on giganormous sized motorcycles! :D Love your dirtybike adventure vids, is awesome seeing to take on the challenge. I think you fell off less in this vid, than I di in my latest! :D hahahaha
🤣🤣 thanks Hippo! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm gonna check out your spills now 🤣
