There is also a rating for drivers to give to passengers so if a request comes up from a passenger with a past history of e.g. Violence the driver has the option to not accept them. Where as with taxis they have no information on their customers until they pick them up, which puts them as risk. Uber X is especially safe because they are just like ordering a private chauffeured car.
