Good job, nice to see heat only boilers being installed,my potterton, touch wood is still going strong after 40years, my mate/neighbour is on his 3rd Combi.i used to follow a plumber called tomplumb,he's retired now,he showed how to find out if the f /e pipe was blocked by using a magnet on the pipe,if it stuck to the copper pipe it was blocked,he was dead right,my pipe was blocked with only a tiny opening going through, cut the pipe, out right as rain.keep up the good work.😊
Great job pal 👍🏼 It's nice to see someone take as much pride in their work as you do. Using dye in the muck always finishes off the job well. I have a flat metal monument waste pipe deburrer I find great for using on cut flues. I've yet to buy those benders but see alot of people using them. Keep up the great work 😎
Thank you for your comment. I bet pipe deburred makes your life a hell of a lot easier. Metal file and half rounded rasp on the other hand takes very little space in my van which is of great value as its combi. Can't wait to use these pipe benders again, they are so great, recommend !
I don’t understand why you aren’t soldering? The few fittings and minimal pipe work you changed wouldn’t take you much longer to solder than pressfit. The cost difference between solder and pressfit is massive, and the majority of customers won’t understand the difference between the two.
Another good reason is the rear flues on the Vaillants can be problematic. When cut to the mid way point between the min/max the larger air flue only just gets past the seal on the boiler. Also there have been instances on POC leakage through the flue/boiler connection. Top flue connection is the most reliable method and you don't have to take the boiler off the wall if there was a fault with the flue/seal. . The Potterton Profile was one of the best boilers ever made !
Nice work. Can't beat working in a garage, with a handy door right there, always a bonus.
I love a garage job , nice and easy and the van right outside the door to unload... Nice one... 👍

I bet your Potterton still has cast heat exchanger?. I don't believe new condensing boilers, even H/O will go over 20 yrs.
Good to see a proper job done. Especially with the F&E would have put a Baxi heat only in there but that’s just me 😗
Good job mate, I have got into the habit of wet vacuuming the f & E tank out and then draining system down.
I think this is part of the services customers pay for 👍
Great job pal 👍🏼

I know there are heavier wall hung boilers out there, but I find them profiles fucking heavy

Great vid why not use the rear flue on that valiant
I didn't see reason to go RF?
Thank you
Thank you.
No worries was an observation i try to use if possible as they look great, and space allows. 😀
