Got to be one of the best jams ever. I remember you playing it at dusk, in a massive stadium, to a mesmerized, enthusiastic crowd, like your band was transitioning the concert from one state of mind to another. Awesome!
To me Stratocaster players are the most expresive ( BB King was a Gibson guy ) but the way how Beck , Hendrix, SRV , Ritchie Blackmore, Gilmour, Robin Trower, Yngwie, Clapton, Buddy Guy and many other Stratocaster guitar players makes me feel on another world. R.I.P
With a small tweak of the accent, he'd sound exactly like Pete Townshend. They're from different parts of London. Beck is probably the greatest and most influential guitarist of all time, although there are other names that seem to win the overall popularity contests. Great guitarists will cite him as a major influence, where wannabe guitarists will name the 'others'.
Mr. Clapton's solos, to me, always seem no more than a standard blues-player's "noodling" in a very limited range on the neck. Mr. Beck is in a different galaxy, with his unique and more-advanced style and more-complex, more-adventurous compositions. He and Jan Hammer seem like a natural pair of collaborators.
Amazing how one musician song suggestion sparks creativity development..perpetual growth .thank you.Mr Jeff Beck

Jan Hammer and Tony Hymas created some amazing tunes and Jeff knew exactly what to do with them.
brilliant, thanks for uploading this.
Interesting perspective on Hammerhead's origin. Kick Ass indeed!
PS. That 'bodgey' guitar sounds mighty fine when a master plays it.

"Kick ass" is an understatement!
