Hello guys, I'm really noob in Jazz but I'm trying to learn how to improvise because I really love to express myself. I'm kinda stuck between the D Dorian and Eb Dorian scales in this and So What backing track, do you have any idea on how to expand my knowledge ? I heard arpeggios are great idea for articulate licks and phrases on chord changes but here we have just 2 chords going on, this is modal jazz... What approach should I learn to expand my ability to express myself ? Thank you so much if you answer me and for uploading this really great backing track, lovely stuff !!!
Reds_C: Play diatonic arpeggios from the other notes in the chord/triad like the 3rd or 5th, an example would be playing an F major arpeggio over the D minor because it’s the 3rd of D (in key of C major/D Dorian)
better than the other ones on youtube
Thanks!
yeah I definitely can't jam with the Learn Jazz Standards version

Learn to play what you feel. Playing scales is not improvising.
