I used to pay years ago at my church and i never used sheet music. I just listened to the music around me and let the spirit of God move me and what came out was all him. He is a far greater player than i could have been. This guy sounds like he'd is also playing from deep inside his soul... I feel the same familiar warmth and movement listening to this
Every so often, for years now, I come back to revisit this performance. Sometimes I go months without and then, all of a sudden, ‘opens UA-cam’, search ‘gospel saxophone’, scroll and yes. Fills my soul up for a couple more months. Thank you anonymous saxophone man. What a sound! ❤️❤️
It reminds me of my childhood church in a old boxing gym. Before we went to an old polyclinic to pray. Just had to leave that here. I wish you as good of a life as my childhood was. Sometimes we used to have a smoke machine and everyone would dance to worship

Shawn Wallace is a progeny, a phenom who at 14- and 19-years of age recorded the most prolific and daring Organic Real Jazz Cds. - the first three of which I have and do enjoy. Had he not taken to the piety and confines of Christendom and academia, respectively, he would have been seen, heard, and recognized for his virtuosic prowess a la John Coltrane or Michael Brecker. I adore his sound, articulation and his mannerism both as a musician and an educator.
What a talent, I,m not a religious person, but if religion made me feel anything like hearing this brilliant tune....I think i would be a devout christian right away. :) and this is one that i,m searching to play on my sax, but maybe in 20yrs i could be 10% of this mans talent. Thank you Shawn.
Even though i am not a religious person in any way, I think that if there was a God , and he was a lover of the Sax, then i think that he would certainly have Shawn Thunder Wallace, as his main man to play for him. Great sound Shawn and it really moved me, but i am so jealous as i am an Alto Sax player, but it would take me a few hundred years to get to Shawns Standard.
This is the very reason I'm a saxophone player today. God has given me an awesome gift of music that I can share with others and bless others.
