- On this episode of SIMPLE समाचार, we discuss the reality behind growing Muslim population in India. Rumours are being spread on social media that Muslim population can surpass Hindu population in the country. In order to prove the same, arguments are also given. According to 2001 census, Hindu population was 80.5 per cent and Muslim population was 13.4 per cent while as per 2011 census Hindu population decreased to 79.8 per cent and Muslim population increased to 14.2 per cent. (Audio in Hindi).

Muslims ruled India for centuries but they never forced the whole population to convert which they should have. Unfortunately, Quran says "no compulsion in religion."
2001 to 2011 they increased by 2.5% ,that means they will become 30% of Indian population in nxt 60 years!

Japan has a very low fertility rate right now but in past few decades in it had high fertility rate 4 child per women.
South Korea has second lowest fertility rate in the world but in the past it was around 6 child per women which very high.
You can compare with India’s Muslim fertility rate. It is only 2.6 per women. It’s high in India.
Many people have high fertility rate because they are poor. You look at Africa even Christian country have high fertility rate.

I have another point, after looking places for example north africa. Morocco, Libya, Tunisia.
fertility rate is not high and at the same time not low. 2 - 3 child per women.
countries in west Africa such as Niger, Nigeria and Mali have very high fertility rate per women. about 5 - 7 child per women.
I am not saying having child is bad. but increase in population can cause some problem such as climate change.
