    Hello! Thanks for the video! The Yamaha XT250 is the very bike I have been looking into. I am taking a Basic Rider Course in Tucson AZ this weekend for review as I haven't ridden for many years though I have my Motorcycle Endorsement. I am a short man 5'4", 180 lbs, and chose this bike as it has a low seat height. Looks like you are a Veteran. I am a Marine Vet '74-'78. I am curious about the new Parabellum windshield if it sends the windblast over your head. I saw this windshield on another channel and see the one that National Cycle sells that has rods that go to the handlebars. But, I need room on the handlebars for the other accessories I would like to get. I ordered a gear shift selector indicator and am looking into a 2-USB plug unit and, if possible, a fuel gauge, as well as rear and sike racks for soft panniers. I am curious if your new windshield is tall enough. Would you let me know? I was, also, looking into the JNS LED Headlight Kit but saw that a company called Cyclops has a kit with a bulb change. Reducing the power wattage of the light, I think, will allow me power for the new gauges. Sorry for the long message. Thanks, again, for the excellent videos.

      You will love this bike off road. If you need to go on the highway, you might get max 80-85 mph with some vibration if you are on those bumpy backroads. Be cautious on gravel. In Arizona be careful...Always let someone know where you are going, take water and a fully charged cell phone (maybe a battery backup too), take a map. If you dismount to take a leak, watch out for snakes.

      @@CameraCommando Hello! Thanks for your message. I had it boiled down to the Yamaha XT250 and the Kawasaki Versys X-300. Many things that I was going to have to get for the X250, like a fuel gauge, gear shift indicator, and windshield came standard on the Versys X-300. Plus, I didn't have to get a Rotopax because the tank holds 4.5 Gallons. I have 2500 miles on it and it's in the shop right now for a flat tire. My only issue is the dealership. I had it towed 2 1/2 weeks ago but said they couldn't do anything until today, 3-12-2021. I didn't think that was good service. And I bought an extended warranty and maintenance plan at the dealership.

    • @CameraCommando

      Be careful on those trails. I can't remember the name of them, but the desert has some crazy thorns that will puncture your tires. Maybe get some of those protective inserts / liners for your tires. Might affect performance, but its better than walking!

      The seating position is so comfortable for me, way more than my MT03 2017 no reaching for the handlebars.

    Add to shopping list:
    Silver Sharpie
    Small Spring Clamps
    Metric Allen Wrenches
    . . .

    • @CameraCommando
      @CameraCommando  3 роки тому +1

      Excellent. I also recommend that if you do buy Allen wrenches that you get the type which are "loose" and not in any kind of fold out configuration. Why? Well the one I had came in the form of a plastic handle and over time it degraded and under twisting pressure turned the plastic into crumbs. So, the lesson is, use the loose ones and be a happy camper!

    Thanks. I didn't find on your site a video about how you like it.... any buffeting or handlebar wobble at 55mph+ ?

    • @CameraCommando
      @CameraCommando  2 місяці тому +1

      I really like it. It’s sturdy. No buffeting and nice aerodynamics. Airflow is smooth over windshield and helmet. I feel like it allows me to go faster with more comfort. This bike can do 85 mph. On highways the cruise at 70 is possible for long distance but most comfortable at about 65. Definitely keeps more bugs off you. I get complimented a lot because it makes the bike look more high end.

    Hi , I’m 6 ft tall installed the parabellum windshield on my XT 250 , I find it’s great at keeping the wind off my chest but I find it to deflect the wind hard to my face. Was wondering how it is for you ? Thanks for any info.

    • @CameraCommando
      @CameraCommando  2 роки тому

      I'm shorter than you and I have a visor on my helmet. At speeds less than say 65 its no big deal. A few times I've been on the highway at speeds between 70 and 85 mph and generally I lean a bit forward to be more aerodynamic. The only time I get windy is behind an 18-wheeler. Its like I'm in the turbulent air rolling over the top and down behind the vehicle. The movement in my helmet is like as if I was shaking my head fast saying "no" really fast. LOL. I like the shield though. I get lots of compliments by people who think my bike is some kind of amazing enduro rig. Keeps the bugs off too, although today some kind of beetle flew into my shirt through my jacket and was freaking biting me. I thought it was a bee stinging me.

    If I owned the company that made these windshields, they wouldn't even get past the drawing board. The designer who came up with the idea of drilling holes in your plastics to install a windshield must have holes in his or her heads. There are many different ways to mount a windshield on a motorcycle that doesn't involve destruction.

    • @CameraCommando
      @CameraCommando  Рік тому +1

      You have some very valid points. I did evaluate those considerations before I mounted mine. In my case, I got this bike to have fun. I don't think I'll ever sell it because my intent is to use the heck out of it, and it most likely will get trashed in the process. So a few holes in things don't bother me and I kind of enjoy doing mods to things to make them my own. However, I totally can see if a person was being more mindful of taking care of a bike's original parts and whatnot that they might not want to do this. So you are totally right on that. I appreciate you taking the time to comment on my channel, sorry it took a while to follow up with you. Cheers bro.
