No, because I get it. I'm literally hanging on by a thread. I don't know how it's possible for him to keep exceeding our expectations. I literally didn't even know that I was capable of feeling more surprised than I did when the album dropped. I'm scared of what other things they have prepared for the next 18 months. Because they aren't going to let us live in peace.
I heard it was Usher that posted the picture of them together on twitter, so I think there is a video coming. Plus, like someone just posted JK just went to LA and came back today so everything is pointing to a video, but we'll see. So Excited!

Usher's My Way was one of the first cassette tapes I bought with my allowance as a kid. 😂 This collab makes me feel like we're coming full circle. So thankful to Usher for doing this and so proud of Kookie!

I did not know about the young Usher's early training! I knew this one was going to be fire! Their voices are fantastic together.

Ummm... So, FYI. Little Usher wasn't JUST putting in the work... After auditioning for L.A. Reid, 14 yo Usher was sent to “Puffy Flavor Camp” where he lived with 21 yo Diddy for a year in NYC to "gain experience as an entertainer" 🙄 Diddy's mentor is Clive Davis who helped Diddy found Bad Boy Entertainment in '93. So 14 yo Usher was literally surrounded by Biggie, Lil' Kim, Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Mase, Craig Mack, 112, Shyne, The LOX, Jadakiss, Total, etc. with no parents or family in sight. Oh, he "gained experience" alright 😳 Fast forward to 2007, 13 yo Justin Bieber flew solo from Canada to Atlanta, GA with agent Scooter Braun to record demos. Biebs began singing for Usher one week later, then signed with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG, a joint venture by Usher and Scooter). Then, Usher became Biebs's mentor. Funnily enough, Usher and Biebs are the only 2 artists signed to RBMG. Anyways, Clive > Diddy > Usher > Bieber... What I'm dropping off is, Clive "prepared" teenage Diddy, Diddy "prepared" teenage Usher, Usher "prepared" teenage Bieber... Don't need binoculars to see that that's a loooong history of male servitude right there.

Did you know that Jungkook started his training at 13 and developed into an incredible dancer and singer after years of hard work. That is why he can so easily transition from chest to head voice seamlessly like Usher. Usher is and has always been a great artist, but so is JK. Not many can boast of having 'perfect pitch'...not that he has, as he's very humble, but you won't hear him singing sharp or flat. I really appreciate the admiration you have for Usher, he's always been a favorite of mine...but JK is also phenomenal.
I did know that, these men put the work in & it's clear as day to see the results
I'm confused, why is this a competition between features in your mind? Usher is an inspiration to JK, and BTS in general, he is a vet in the business for a reason. Fellow ARMYs, other fandoms exist, and not every reactor or critic will respond to our guys, or even each and every one of our guys with the same intensity...and that is ok. 💜

@AmariLeone no, not at all. My response is to the original post you responded to, sorry of that wasn't clear. They seemed genuinely miffed by your enthusiasm and excitement about Usher being a great feature. Some of my fellow ARMYs find it hard to accept stanning multiple groups/artists, and although Im not sure if that is the situation here, it read a little like that. Thank you for your genuine reactions. 💜

Totally agree - dancing is mandatory. I was sitting in bed watching this the first time I heard it, grooving along (as well as a 66 year old can) bopping around and trying not to wake up my husband who was snoring away. I might have to get up and go downstairs .... lol

I love both of these artists! I have been a fan of Ushur since the 90s. His voice is still one if the best R & B’s in the business. JK has had an on pitch voice since he became a member of BTS when he was 15 that matured into a voice that easily moves from chest to head voice in his runs. Combining these two artists with a song that I think should be Song of the Year, you can’t go wrong.
I’m not a fan of remixes when the original is as great as Standing Next to You. But I am hopeful that this collaboration with Usher will get the attention of more R & B fans in the US.

@Siennaflower I wholeheartedly agree re: BTS and their solo collabs (Coldplay, Latto, Halsey, Meghan Thee Stallion, and Korean artists aside). 3D did not need JH or JT. Their bars simply don't fit IMHO so, it's the Alt Version for me. Borahae 💜

Man MOST of us were Usher fans long before we knew who BTS was. It’s seven o’clock on the dot I’m in my drop top cruising the streeeeets. Like Usher for sure one of my OG favorites. Now, BTS are my forever artist. Jungkook, especially. I understand what you’re saying about being like irrational fanatics over very specific artists BUT I have to say - you said it’s artists we don’t know. Has BTS army ever met Jungkook or BTS in real life and had conversations? Nah. But we’ve spent ten to eleven years of 2, 3, 4 hour livestreams with them just chilling and talking with us. Individually and together. They’ve devoted so much time to creating and nurturing this really personal and indescribable bond with us. They’ve got soooo much content outside of their music that allowed BTS fans to really get to understand and love them on the deepest level I’ve ever seen between artist and fandom. So I totalllllly get what you are saying about Usher being that for you, but there’s just that important distinction to make.

Hey bro loved your review. I'm a diehard Usher stan since 1997, I've known about BTS and how Usher was a huge influence to them (especially Jimin) but i had never listened to any songs by them. Until last week when i heard about the Justin Timberlake remix. I listened to both 3D versions and watched Jungkook live performance of SNTY on Jimmy Fallon. I was literally SHOCKED at his amazing vocals, great stage to and elite dancing while also being able to sing LIVE. I thought Usher would sound great on the song with his effortlessly falsetto but had no clue it would actually happen. Now I'm BLOWN AWAY and exited for this MV.

I just about died when I saw this drop. SNTY is my favorite song on Golden and I didn't think it could any better. I still love the original, obviously fire, but man so is this. Confessions was also one of the first CDs I bought when I was a teenager so I feel you on the love. They sound so so good and I will probably have a heart attack if they drop a music video, my heart could barely handle just the vocals and the beat, but them dancing together would just be so amazingly smooth. I'm so happy that JK has been able to do features with some of his favorite artists like Usher and JT.

Hi.. My take on this is that the original SNTY is golden (like a main course) and the SNTY with Usher Remix is a perfection (dessert). Im also happy that JK was able to work with his favorite artist like Charlie Puth, JT and Usher.. and hopefully Justine Bieber (he just recently followed him on Tiktok).

Yeah bro i agree with you about Usher's falsetto. Very few singers can go in and out falsetto as effortlessly as Usher. I've always thought he and Maxwell have the two best falsetto's since Prince and Michael Jackson.

I always love your reactions, especially for this one! This collaboration was everything! Jung Kook by himself is amazing, but then pair him with the almighty Usher?!? I was screaming and then was literally hyperventilating (not a good thing for an old lady!) I had to stop and regroup! But, this has been on repeat. I am so hoping for a MV before JK leaves us to serve. From what I've seen and also been told by a fellow ARMY, there is an MV on the way because JK did a quick trip to LA (plus the picture of JK and Usher that Usher posted), so it's sounding like something is about to happen...and not only that, from what I hear - JK also recently followed Doja Cat, AJR, Justin Bieber, Usher, Ariana Grande and Olivia Rodrigo (it's been said) for possible collaborations (or maybe they've already been done)...who knows -- it would so great though, and I'm here for all of it!!!😉💜

😊 Okay. Usher is amazing. There’s no doubt about that. But I have mixed feelings about this remix. I feel Usher took over the song and that JK ended up being the “feature” singer. Unlike 3D which already had another artist on it, SNTY belonged to JK alone and I liked that. 3D was made infinitely better when the rap section was replaced by JT. I’d feel the same if someone replaced Lotto on Seven. However, I feel protective over SNTY because it was a song that brought out the adult, sexy, sensual man in JK. It did that like no other project of his. It was his rite of passage. I literally had tears in my eyes the first time I experienced the MV. I really didn’t want anyone messing with this song. That being said, it was terrific…fabulous actually. Totally love the romantic lyrics. I can’t deny that. I recognize Usher’s phenomenal talent. I would LOVE to hear them on another track together, and a MV would blow me away. Still, as terrific as it was, I want this particular song to belong to JK alone.
Ahh that's actually quite cute, albeit a bit selfish! 😅 When you love an artist so much I totally understand that sentiment. I'm notta fan of JK, never really listened to him. I heard about him through the dance community. His choreographer shared his video for SNTY and that's how I was introduced. JK earned my respect once I saw what he was capable of as a dancer. It's no mystery how rigorous the training regiment is for KPop stars when it comes to entertainment. It's clear that JK has worked hard at his craft.
But back to SNTY and him now "sharing" it with another artist. Let's be real, whoever produced and engineered/mastered the music did an INCREDIBLE job! It's so infectious, the brass lines are amazing, the bass gets so much shine, the groove goes crazy etc. For an artist as immensely talented as Usher or JK, how could they NOT want to go off or go crazy to this song? 😅 I think what we hear is an artist that's inspired. I doubt it was Usher's intention to "take over the song", but more like a feeling of being called into the song and getting lost in it. The fans of any artist would love nothing more than to hear and see that artist be inspired. Hell JK's a fan himself and probably felt honored to have such an artist kill it the way he did. I know I would, too much respect for the legends that came before me and inspired my sound.
Anyway, both the remix and original are great and can coexist! I'm glad you can enjoy both because I'm def on the other side of the fandom if you will. I've been rooting for Usher since the beginning and have been wanting him to be on a funky beat like this for some time. I'm over the moon that JK let him get on this banger of a song. Thanks for reading if you did, here's to hoping we get a visual treatment for this sooner than later.
I can understand that sentiment & I think it still holds true as the original IS the one on the album & the original is THE title track. This is just a posthumous remix. So basically the original stands on it's own right as a full release which I think is what allows this one to be so usher heavy I guess you could say. Regardless both can (& do) exist simultaneously & give us different vibes, allowing us to enjoy both options or whichever option we prefer.

I watched Jung Kook grow up,, and am so proud of his accomplishments and growth, both in vocals and dance. I guess I thought some of the glory would be taken from him. Yes, both the original and the remix are great and can coexist! I plan on enjoying both…but I admit I will probably be giving the original a little more love! 🤭 I too hope for “ a visual treatment” of the remix. I think the issue is that so many features happen in the west that many artists have just stopped posting about their features on songs at all & just leave it to the label to market them. Also I THINK JT may be in the process of work on his next album so he may be so all consumed with that he may not even realize the single has come out already. But I don't know him personally so I'm at best speculating

As a silver army I don't know any usher songs, I tired to find a good one but I need help, try to keep it somewhat clean
When people ask for a good place to start with usher I usually recommend them Climax, the vocals on that song are angelic & I'm pretty sure it's clean

I think the idea was trying to reach a different audience than BTS normally reaches which is perfectly fine BUT the song quality themselves suffered as a result
