I want to say your videos are really good and I enjoy watching it (no offense to Shaby) it's like from a real person, not like other "staged" youtuber. please keep the good work, I follow every single video and learn something from it, very helpful!
🐯 Excellent review as always. I’d definitely consider booking a stay at the hotel. Although I must admit the food at Toki didn’t look very appetizing to me. However, it without a doubt looked interesting and that’s enough for me to give it a try. Thank you for being thorough with your reviews and offering valuable information.
@@MandyRoams hmm I think I'd give a slight edge to the Ritz-Carlton, but the Mitsui history, baths and location across from the castle is really cool. Of course, hard to tell from videos but I liked the vibe and ambiance of the Ritz-Carlton. Both gave you and Sebby amazing value and wonderful anniversary memories. :)
I'm thinking of adding a blog post. My fear was that the price goes up (when we went it was 85k to 90k per night, but I could easily see it jumping up, especially after getting rewarded 3 Keys lol)
That nespresso napoli with 13 on the intensity scale is like having a caffeine train hit you right in the face. Too much robusta giving that woody bitterness note 😢 not a good capsule. Anyway nice hotel review. Hopefully I can get the chance to stay there in the near future 😊
So, comp breakfast is only for 1 person? Sebby didn't get it for free? Unfortunately, plat should get free access to private onsen. The upgrade for plat is ok.
Comp breakfast is for 2, any more would be extra.* Agree, Plat should get free access to the private onsen, or it should be less than $50 USD. That was the most expensive private onsen we've been offered in Japan.
Both are solid! Depends on availability and the sites you want to see. Soft product was better at Ritz (during our stay). Hard product was equal-ish depending on what you're optimizing for. Really can't go wrong with either :)
That's a tough one! Honestly both are awesome. (as Seb put it while we're there...) "You're comparing Steph Curry with LeBron. Both are S-tier" We liked the hard product at Hotel the Mitsui better, but soft product at Ritz-Carlton.
Hotel The Mitsui has the edge for hard product (loved the thermal spring!). Ritz-Carlton has the edge for soft product. Huge YMMV on soft product though :)
These are getting *REALLY* good. 😊👍
Thank you! :)
I've been fantasizing about that Hotel for years... wonderful choice!
Glad you liked it :)
🐯 Love that video! Great editing and ending.
Thanks so much!
I'm looking forward to staying here later on this year! I'm glad it met your expections. We have more to look forward to now.
Hope you have a great experience :)
Great vid
The kid’s toothbrush is for sebby 😂
Haha, thanks! 😂

Worth trying but definitely felt like they were angling for the Michelin Star (if that makes sense) lol
🐯fantastic trip to Kyoto
Thanks for watching David :) Which did you like better? Hotel The Mitsui or Ritz-Carlton?

Love a Woman who loves to eat quality food 👍🏾👍🏾
Great review such a nice hotel and view. Would be nice if you include costs/points used for hotel reviews

Having hotel status in Japan makes for a great trip where it allows you to live large. 🤑 Not always a given here in the US.
Most of Asia :) My guess is that less visitors have status = win haha
🐅so better then ph kyoto? i loved that hotel and the breakfast
I think service was better at PH. Hard product is nicer at Hotel The Mitsui though :)
PH bathhouse is definitely a weak spot imo (but I guess YMMV)
first! 🌴🔰
🙌
🐯... the spa and weirdly the bathroom makes me a fan of that property
The spa and bathroom were both really nice!
Great video! How would you compare this hotel vs. Kyoto Ritz Carlton? Thank you!!
I think the hard product was better at Hotel The Mitsui. Ritz (at least for our stay) had a better soft product :)
About $150 for a one star. That is a steal from my perspective.
Yep, very fair in retrospect, especially if you consider that's the "all in" price (vs. US where $110 ends up being $150 after taxes, tip, and fees).
So, comp breakfast is only for 1 person? Sebby didn't get it for free? Unfortunately, plat should get free access to private onsen. The upgrade for plat is ok.

Did you have the thermal springs to yourselves? I was thinking about getting the private onsen but if it’s not crowded, then free is better 😁
Depends on when you go. Usually empty in the mornings, and then starts getting crowded after breakfast and check-in time.

🐯 Thanks for watching Jimmy :)
🐯didn’t recognize that this was a Marriott hotel. Would you recommend this over the ritz Carlton in kyoto?
Both are solid! Depends on availability and the sites you want to see. Soft product was better at Ritz (during our stay). Hard product was equal-ish depending on what you're optimizing for.
Really can't go wrong with either :)
Which hotel do you recommend if a private onsen is a focus?
Hotel the Mitsui, and you’ll need to book the Onsen suite. Roku also has private in-room onsens, but it’s not near any tourist attractions.
🐅Did you use points for the room? If so how many?
85k certificate + 5k points :)
Ahhh I hope we don't get bonvoy'd and this property stays under 100k (along with Suiran and RC)
Great use of 85k FNCs (with maybe 5k to 10k Bonvoy top ups)
🐯
Better than Ritz Kyoto?

@@MandyRoams then the question becomes, which one is Steph 😉
This or the Ritz Kyoto?
Hotel The Mitsui has the edge for hard product (loved the thermal spring!). Ritz-Carlton has the edge for soft product.
Huge YMMV on soft product though :)
